    A lot of crafters, especially etsy, will buy clip ons, single and broken pieces for pictures they create with jewelry. You could list them as supplies.

      I'm sad that I'm just seeing your video now but glad that they can still be seen this long after you posted it. Anyway, I have a comment for you on the large brownish ring you showed which you said may be a costume piece. I hope you are getting pieces like that checked out and or appraised. That ring looks like Amber. The ring itself maybe .925 silver. People that aren't familiar with Amber may not know what it is. The majority comes from Russia. In essence, it's tree sap that petrifies and its more valuable if there are tiny bugs or tree/leaf particles in each piece. If you ever get some free time, look up The Amber Room. You can Google it. The entire Room was cut down, boxed and stolen by the Nazi's. It has never been recovered. You can see a replica of the room thats been restored. Its so beautiful!

    Clip on earrings can be put on a chain or leather tie as a necklace. They can also be put as a brooch with a safety pin and the clip hangs from it. If you have broken chain necklaces and the beads are nice collect and sell as a collection. Jewellery crafters can remake them into other jewelry pieces. The small beads I have crafted into Christmas trees using styrofoam cones.

    All that jewelry will sell, even the mardi gras beads. Pick out the best ones to sell individually, lot the rest as wearable/broken crafter lot. They sell by the pound as lots. You can even sell lots of non-working watches as steampunk lots. Check out estate jewelry lots on eBay, I think you’ll be surprised at the prices they go for. Also make sure to check the earring backs, you may find silver or gold ones. Gold and silver sell well and Blue Bus Dave can probably point you to a buyer in the area. These rings have “925” stamped on them, meaning that they are not made of solid gold. 925 is a standard sign used to mark sterling silver, and the meaning of the stamp is that the silver content in the piece is 92.5% (i.e., the remaining 7.5% is comprised of other elements)

    The amount of waste in the US is off the charts! Watching these dumpster dive videos has really opened my eyes to the massive waste in the US. It's always great to see people managing to save a lot of these discarded items from the landfills. then find the items a new home and a new purpose.

    • @PaperandMoose
      @PaperandMoose  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      A large amount of waste could be avoided if more towns allowed items to be put out with the garbage, rather than forcing the containment of garbage strictly to a garbage can. I can only imagine some of the great vintage & antique items that are tossed in a trash can because a home can't place them out on their curb due to being fined.

    • @VladDImpala
      @VladDImpala 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PaperandMoose I live in a large metropolitan city. We must recycle, there are separate recycling bins for paper, glass and tin. In large apartment complexes, daily 'wet' grab (food discards etc) must be bagged and thrown down a chute, then that garbage gets compressed. Clothing and things such as costume jewelry cannot be thrown down garbage chutes. Complexes are actually fined if different types of garbage are mixed together in one bag, doing this also creates more work for the maintenance people, who must spend extra time separating garbage which wasn't recycled properly. In co-op and condo complexes, the high and continuous fines are eventually passed on to residents in the form of rent hikes.

    • @stuartstone6359
      @stuartstone6359 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Nope 925 is silver that is 92.5% pure and mixed with any other metal. Sterling can only be mixed with copper or it isn't sterling even though the purity is the same. This is because it's the British standard for silver (why it's called pound sterling) and one pound in weight was worth one pound in currency when the standard was adopted.

    I think there is way more money here than you realize. Broken jewelry can be sold as a craft lot on etsy. The Mexican ring is, most likely, Mexican silver and the coral is possibly angel skin coral. The Jerusalem brooch is mother of pearl. The ring with the purple stone looks like silver with amethyst. Watches also can be sold in a craft lot. Crafters will want them for the gears. Tip for filming - Always put the camera in front of you and put your lighting behind the camera pointed at you. This way, you don't need to look for the right angle. The light will always be directed at what you want lit. Tiffany does make clip ons, btw. I've thought about wearing them because my ears are so sensitive. I just haven't pulled the trigger, yet.😁

    Take all the jewelry and take it to BlueBusDave and trade it for paper items. Use your loupe to look over possible gold or silver and dont make mistakes in identifying such as you know who did at the flea market lol.

    What a fun find! Hours of fund just looking through it all. Don't throw any of it away. As other have noted, it can be sold. I actually use broken pieces of jewelry in my mixed media art. I find much at thrift stores and friends will also give me their "junk". It never looks the same after I get done with it! I even use the clock works from inside the watches so those can be gutted and the gears sold.

    The very large pin is a shawl pin, some rings can be used to joint scarves through, long strands of beads can also be braided together for purses or evening bags.

    I definitely miss being able to go trash picking since everyone has their own individual cans on their property 😢 I used to find the best things! We also do cleanouts for people and get to keep whatever we find plus get paid for doing the work. The last 2 properties were owned by hoarders! I mean stuff from top to bottom and not junk! They would shop and throw things down so much of it was brand new still. They collected EVERYTHING! Vintage coke stuff still in boxes, vintage dolls, barbies and game systems. I found a brand new Nintendo in the original box with everything including booklets, instructions etc and super Mario 3 in the box unopened. So much gold jewelry rings, bracelets, necklaces etc. We also found about 2 grand in old bills and they didn't want any of it or to deal with it as it belonged to their parents who passed. I wish we could score like that every day! 🙏🙏 I just recently found you and have watched many of your videos. I love how sweet and appreciative you seem instead of getting mad when its not exactly what you would hope for. You see value in everything and donate so much and even to the animal shelters ❤ I love that so much! I wish I had someone like you around to go digging with and share our finds. It would be so much fun!! Pray you're doing well and still at it! 🙏💜💜

    yes, hang them with a thread. also sometimes some of them may look like a mini food.take the back off(after making sure they are not vintage!) clean 'em up n wear them! redo the back for pierced. use them as a necklace . display them in a basket. take them apart and use the beads for something else.

    Oh and sometimes thrift stores will put a bunch of jewelry in a bag or jar and can usually find at least of few pieces of real gold or silver. The hard part is that its usually a bunch of tangled necklaces with other stuff tangled in it that they dont want to bother taking the time to seperate in order to sell so just sell it bulk.

    925 denotes sterling silver on the ring you held up

    • @stuartstone6359
      @stuartstone6359 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      No it would mean the silver is 92.5% silver and the rest of a different metal or metals sterling can only be mixed with copper, 925 does not mean it is sterling as it isn't a garuntee of the quality of the metals like something that is marked as sterling.

    Dear RENEE: this most definitely a larger gal that this jewelry belonged to. Some of those necklaces you could wear for a belt. The pink and pretty blue beads might be considered as part of your Easter display. They could lie placed on the table around your little chicks and ducks. There was one necklace that had a big round brown piece on it that would make a beautiful pin. The clip ratings can be turned into pierced very easily.BUT, if you decide you want to sell the 10 commandments bracelet would you let me know how much you want for it. Don’t be in a hurry to throw. The jewelry away.

    My friend buys plain photo frames and vases from garage sales; then she uses either a hot glue gun (frames) or a ceramic tile mixture (vases); she will also add decorative buttons; pieces of broken china. She has a great imagination of how she wants the piece to look from the treasures she found.

BB Dave could let you know what is gold and silver plus any special piece with semi precious stones. I would love to go though this piece by piece. For the higher end flea markets use small jelly jars or canning jars if you have enough jewelry and it you have fabulous pieces display them separately or sell them on etsy. Have fun with this.
