As one artist to another, we are always our own worst critic. The truth is art's beauty, sadness, drama, love & so on is in the eyes of the beholders. What you see other's may see different. Art is not a science that's why it's fun. Don't undervalue your artworks or yourself. What I see in this magnificent piece is an abrupting volcano. The metallics look like hot fiery lava running down a hillside in all it's glory and beauty. Happy Creating, Happy Life! 💜
Thanks for the pep talk. Yeah I know I'm my worst critic but it's only because I want to continue to improve and produce the quality that I'm happy with. I know it won't be perfect but I'll keep pursuing it 😉
I had fallen into a bit of slump over the last few weeks. Nothing was going right, and was about to throw all my mixed paints in the bin. I watched this episode of your painting and went and tried again. It worked, and I hope I can get back on track. Thanks for being inspirational.😊
I love it! And, I like it after you made the second swipe. The colors are gorgeous. What IQ appreciate is that you share the ones that you’re not as happy with, instead of only sharing your successes. That’s how we learn. Thank you, Fiona.
One thing l have noticed is just because you don't like it doesn't mean somebody out there won't be able to live without it. Put it for sale, if it doesn't, then do it again. I am not a lover of earth tones, but it's really quite a beautiful piece. Your colors are great together, the tones, and the pattern. I can see many people loving it. Good luck.
I've only just come across this technique - I love the way it develops before your eyes. If I saw this canvas for sale and wanted to buy it, I wouldn't be concerned about "broken lacing" etc. It is what it is - only you see the "flaws". Thank you for sharing.
Love your authentisity_ I never usually look at other people's work as not to be influenced or should I say feel unworthy of calling myself an artist looking at others amazing talent. I have finished bugger all over 17 yrs but did finish my first piece last week I started in 2006. It can be so expensive I think you are using pouring acrylic..I'm so envious of your ability and future ahead. don't be to.hard on yourself_ go with the flow and your heart if you like what you do so will others.. I have never tried to sell a piece maybe it's the thought of rejection or bloody time spent _ ground hog day. Love to know how that piece ended up . Cheers from Canberra.
Thank you Michael! I haven't done anything with the piece yet. Still trying to get the courage to sell something. I have had some interest though. So that's nice. 😊 Happy for you that you have finished a piece. Must have felt good 😊
This is so beautiful! It makes me think of a 3-D aerial view of an exotic isthmus with the ocean pushing the shore. I could never afford it, but I would visit it often and yearn for it. I can imagine its ‘being’ so many incredible places and would write a novel sited in its midst. I do hope you won’t paint over it.
This is a sellable piece. Just cover it in resin. Resin makes anything amazingly interesting. I love it. It reminds me of an old world map for whatever reason.
Thank you. I've been looking at my pieces for selling and finding all the imperfections. I think I need to go and look at some paintings for sale and see if I judge them as harshly. It's a process 😉
What did you mix your paints with abs are they all Amsterdam? I actually love it no need to worry about the middle where the pacing isn’t as sharp looks more natural like rocks I’d love more details to try this one that’s why I ask Very interesting in the white you used and the pouring medium to get that Smoky look
Never be sorry. There is no bad pour. Some are just more of a learning experience to us.😊😊😊. You ask what I think? Talk about color to Fiona's Art. Ms. Slovenia is a color pour pro.😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I think it is beautiful! The only issue I really see is where you added the Paine’s grey in the corner. I do feel that your paint over all was too thick. Try thinning it down just a bit and I feel you’ll like the flow much better.
Very nice. Please I m not sure to have all understood (I m french): did you put floetrol to make cells or silicon or.....? and where did you put it ? in just the black color for the swipe or in all the other colors? Many thanks
Hi, l used Australian Floetrol for swiping. I mixed it with my black paint. No silicone used. My coloured paints are mixed with a pouring medium of 1 part Liquitex pouring medium to 1 part Australian Floetrol. I have a paint mixing video on my channel if that helps.
@@fionascreativecanvas Thanhs a lot, I finally found Australian Floetrol on Ebay !! (even if quite expensive (132 € for 4 liters). I wish I could succed something like your so pretty canvas, i ordered metallics paints as well...My medium generally is with cleopatre colle (glue) + Easycryl (1/1) - so I will add 1 part of Australian Floetrol. I guess.... Could you please indicate wich number is the paint mixing video on your channel you are talking please?
I would buy it hoping u discount the price for the area where u ran out of paint. If u smoothed over that area w/ur spatula it might have been less obvious
Yeah maybe. I have still to give it a clear coat. Still thinking resin might fix it but I need to make something to brace it from behind so the resin doesn't sink in the middle 😉

Oh, I know that feeling. Believe me. Then something magical happens, and I'm so glad I didn't get too discouraged.
It’s beautiful, wow. I think the best part for me was with the first pass, those tiny bubbles…….delicious!
Thank you 😊

Thank you so much for saying that Deborah. I appreciate it 😊

Did u add silicon?v volcanic, I like it
No silicone added. I use Australian Floetrol.
Never be sorry. There is no bad pour. Some are just more of a learning experience to us.😊😊😊. You ask what I think? Talk about color to Fiona's Art. Ms. Slovenia is a color pour pro.😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I've definitely been learning alot 😆😉
Loved it before but both
Thanks :)
Love this! So warm and relaxing 🤎. How thick was your paint?
Thank you 😊, It's been awhile since I did this one. I can't quite remember.
Hello Fiona, please tell me what product you use to have such beautiful cells ? perhaps Floetrol or Owatrol, water… ?
Australian Floetrol. I used it in my swipe mix. 😉
I think it's lovely.
Thank you Lisa 😊

Thanks for the tip 👍
When you paint over canvasses, do you just go for it or do any prep beforehand (e.g. sanding and cleaning?).
Sometimes I paint some gesso on first. 😉
