The Whistling is inspired/based off of the South American(Venezuela and Colombia) folk tale El Silbón (The Whistler), with which there are multiple variations of the story but all point to the fact that the Whistler is a spirit/damned soul that killed his father/father in law (lore dependant), and that should you hear whistling close by, you are safe but should you hear it far off in the distance, death is coming for you.
I didn't know that :D Thank you for providing more background to the whole thing, especially the close/far meaning is actually really cool, when you think about it musically.
To my surprise, Puss in Boots 2 was actually quite a good (and highly meme-able) movie. The best part was seriously the feline-PTSD inducing whistling melody from Death. So I decided to give it a shot and make an epic version out of it. :D It's not half as polished as I would have liked and I will probably regret the mixdown in the days to come, but whatever. Turn the volume up, enjoy and have a nice week! :D (And of course if you like this, don't forget to press the like button, check out my other stuff or even consider the daring move of subscribing! ;D)
i watched the movie and i loved it, such a nice version daaaaamn, got some spanish vibes also. did you do the whistle towards 1:50? if yes plz dont come for me :D
The image u use made me realize his eyes turned to coins, which people do when someone dies, idk why I just realize this. Edit: He put the coins on, his eyes didn't transform, my fault.

At first i thought Death was the big bad Wolf but he really is just Death, straight up
Are you sure you don't mean that metaphorically, or rhetorically, or poetically or theoretically or in any other fancy way?
@@MartinRennerI am death, straigh up!
this actually more creepy than the movie's version. a very splended job well done Martin R.
Thank you so much, this really means a lot to me
Makes me wanna check out what else you got there. What a stunning arrangement!
Feel free to roam my channel :D

Very well done. I love this version. Gives me the chills :)
Thank you very much :D
Love this so much! I'm listening to it often! The whistling is just like in the movie! I tried it myself, but it's tough to make it sounds so clear.
The structure feels so dynamic and powerful... i must to say exceeded my expectations... Great job
I love how his theme made you feel like you were watching a Spaghetti Western.
Haha yes :D
Talking about spaghetti, him doing the whistle really did make palms sweaty, knees weak and arms heavy.
Vomit on his sweater already
@@matteo_d6124 Western spaghetti.
Great track. Makes me wanna watch the movie right now, but I have to wait for a bit.
Thanks :)
Go for it! It's definitely one of the better DreamWorks Movies in recent years!
Irgendwie war mein erster Gedanke als mir das vorgeschlagen wurde: "Hast du jemals von der Tragödie von Darth Wolfgang dem tödlich Geduldigen gehört?"
i shivered at the beginning
So dramatic but very cool
