Good video; suspenseful. Thanks for including the key cutting. I keep seeing videos that are all keys lost but they start with a cut key already. Also I like seeing which programmers fail and succeed.
Yes i thought id do it differently. Glad to see it helps. I try to ban filters and make the video as real as it was on the field. I do have another of the same kind i have not uploaded just yet. It was a double all keys lost on 2010 F150 and 08 pilot if i have a good memory
Very interesting video. As far as I have known for YEARS, only tool that could do 2011+ Jetta OBD was Abrites? Pull cluster and put in service mode on bench. I will definitely try VVDI next time. The only thing I wish you would have explained better was Step 3? So you chose option #1 and put the key into the programmer and then...? @ 21:50
Into programmer to make the ke “a dealer kekey/precoded to the car) Finalize by Making the dealer key become learned by the car (key learning). Start the vehicle
I only realised that after vvdi2 did it. I had used key tool plus before Autel and VVDI2; however, id like to point this out: i had, as a last resort, to steer away from key tool plus and vvdi2 automatic identification of the car Instrument cluster as “Magnetti 912S”, whichever Instrument cluster they could not attempt any programming for; indeed, there was no way to read immodata whatsoever from the presummed “Magnetti Cluster”. 2 reasons made me try another way: 1- I was not eager to renove the cluster for a bench job after an already long day. 2- the last resort: it was my last shot and 3 scanners including key tool plus, vvdi2 and Obdstar prompted me to select 3 other Instrument Cluster eeprom type in a very specific order. I chose the 2nd Instrument Cluster following the one identified as “Magnetti….”; from this point on, everything was possible. Reading immo data took 30sec; making the dealer key took another 30 sec and learning the key took 1mn max. Key tool plus is not my go to scanner; i got it to make a Euro specific programmer out of it but i am not very impressed by it just yet. I keep getting more acquainted with it until i determine its true power, if any. Thanks for chiming in

@@DavidPetrisor sorry for the late reply, i did not actually realised you had messaged this; I find this very interesting because I really want to put keytoolplus at the front line of my programming battles but I feel like it stumbles; now that i read you, I am considering "user error" (ME) LOL; I also have the majority of solderless adapters; I have tried keytoolplus on Mercedes benz all keys lost by obd but was not even able to get the password when autel pulls it within 20mn most times. Also, i feel like VVDI Prog makes a better pair for VVDI2 than key tool max because I find VVDI PROG more capable in reading modules than KEY TOOL MAX (NOTE: VVDI PROG HAS A EEPROM CLIP TOO BUT NO ADAPTERS) ABOUT KEYTOOLPLUS ADAPTERS, I find the springy needles flimsy or perhaps it is because I am used to THE EFFICIENCY OF ACDP ADAPTERS which makes me feel like I am downgrading when I go back to XHORSE ADAPTERS. I am currently eying the 13 MQB ADAPTERS ... but not sure if I wanna go the ACDP ROUTE for $399 or the XHORSE ROUTE for $249. If I was not purchasing so many things right now, Id say ACDP hands down. ACDP IS A SHOOT TO KILL PROGRAMMER IN MY OPINION; I LOVE IT.
because i had spent almost 5hrs there recording things that was not working with all the previous scanners; i really did not think that it was going to work and thought id have to remove the cluster but me not wanting to give up decided to try the hint listed by VVDI2, OBDSTAR & Keytoolplus therefore i tried to pick the cluster type and eeprom #2 manually and it was no longer grayed out; at that point, i was less concerned about making the video than finishing the job right & drive another 40mn back home. I had arrived at the customer location at 5pm and left at 10ish. If you ever run accross the situation where nothing works, just pick manually (if a hint suggests so);besides, all VAG have the same todo list: read eeprom data n save read immo data n save make dealer key add / learn key As long as you've picked the right eeprom and cluster, this is what you are going to have to do. if it is AN IMMO 3 OR LESS, No need to make dealer key. You just ensure the chip is right and learn the key as it is the case in my 2006 audi a4 all keys lost video. on both occasion I had not found a similar video to watch before going on the field so I knew it could be challenging but also knew I was gonna make their car start without having to take any damaging risks
