I have over 500 hours played on Journey 29 on my main account, beat it with multiple characters as well. I platinumed the game 9 months ago and I don't think I have a platinumed any other game ever. I actually wanted the platinum for the first time ever. Even Jev is on Journey 9 / Platinumed and beat it with multiple characters as well. Tim and Elden Ring would be S tier content. Doc's first Elden Ring stream had over a million views in 3 days. Hoping MW2 / WZ2 dies just to see Tim play Elden Ring.
It did win GOTY but that doesn’t mean everyone gets into slow pace RPGs. A lot of ppl don’t like that style of game. I’m actually surprised that it was the 2nd highest grossing game of 2022 w COD MW2 being first and Madden ‘23 being 3rd. Maybe more ppl are starting to get into RPGs.

IMO: Yk the feeling when you absolutely dominate in cod, think of that but 10x better when you overcome a boss on here bro. You get to see your progression from struggling to controlling yourself to focus on the one boss in front of you, I’ve never been so hyped and overjoyed when I killed malenia. Truly a great experience
Yea, I stopped playing cod years ago but still play Destiny with 7 to 4 KD's seasonally but Elden Ring was a whole new level of anger and enjoyment, despite me not knowing any mechanics at the time some bosses I now know by heart from just the pain I have felt. Malenia was not as annoying for me as Radagon spamming AOE like crazy.
I think he put all his stats into faith and intelligence for the night and flame sword it requires 24 of both and a lil bit of strength he definitely should have put some into health though

Jev did this intentionally, but his build is designed for dmg output, not tankyness. Where he's at is the game's 2nd or 3rd last area. For anything past the capital, I'd highly recommend having Vigor leveled to at least 40 if not 60. Although 60 is very nice.
Great reaction was waiting for it tbh, and would highly recommend eldin ring as your first soulsborne experience is the most accessible in terms of how you like to play and what you want to do. Long time fan keep up the great work

The reason why Elden Ring is an amazing first Souls game is because it can be as hard or as easy as you want it to be. Want the game to be enjoyable and easy? Level your health, grind for levels, use summons, and broken weapons. (chat will make fun of you but who gives af) Want to be a masochist and run into a brick wall 247 tries on repeat? Don't level health, don't use summons, don't grind for levels, don't use broken weapons. I've found it hard to complete single player games for a long time now but I have beaten this game over 7 times in 1 year. That's just how amazing it is. It got GotY for a reason and is an absolute MUST PLAY.
Action Queued = Actions in this game (attack, dodge, use item, etc) stack when pressed and cannot be canceled. So if you press attack 3 times and only meant to press it 2 times, you can't cancel the 3rd into something else (like a dodge).
This was my first Souls game, and I absolutely loved it. Surprisingly, I didn't have too many issues. I died more to the damn birds and rats than anything else. I think the only boss that gave me serious trouble was a duo in a hidden cave that I was utterly under-leveled for at the time.
as someone who never played a souls like game, this was financially one of the best game decisions i ever made and i enjoyed every minute of it. Give it a try Tim, and i dont mean 15 minutes, just sit down and play a couple hours and you will be hooked i promise.
The nice thing about elden ring is that its as hard as you make it, you could make it really hard by going underleveled and wielding only a dagger, or you can use things like summons, magic, and boss items like margits shackle to make it easier and less frustrating.
I don't know if Tim actually reads these but: 1) I've never been able to beat a souls game before. Elden Ring is the most approachable game of them all. Getting stomped by a boss? Just explore and come back later. Level up a bit and take the challenge again. 2) The rage vids are funny and all, but they miss out on all the amazing moments of the game. 3) There are some legit builds that are just broken. It's fun to try out the various types of weapons and magic. 4) Again I don't really like souls games and never finished one, but I finished 5 of the 6 endings of this game before I got tired of it. 5) Runebears are the worst enemy and not worth fighting Even if you don't finish it is worth trying at least once to get through a few bosses. They also have multiplayer as well so someone like Doc or Lupo could join and help out.
If you don’t play these games your seriously missing out on some of the most masterfully crafted games ever. I had two friends get drawn into the fromsoftware universe who I thought would never touch these games. They are 100% my favourite games
I was in your shoes Tim. Never played a souls game until this one. It was hard as fuck, but damnit it was satisfying to finally beat a boss you have been struggling with for a long time. Some of the boss fights are goddamn scenic too. I 100% love this game, I raged plenty, destroyed a controller but at the end it was fantastic. I’ve beaten it twice now working on my third time and have 80 hours in it.

Altough demons souls remake was my 1st souls game and absolutely hated it, But went back to it after finishing Elden ring and beat it into oblivion lol had a much deeper appreciation for the souls games after elden ring
It’s a love hate kind of deal. I played DS2 when it first came out for maybe an hour before I gave up and stayed away from the souls games. Now Iv gotten 100% for ER on both ps4/5 and Iv decided to do that with all the other games. Yes they’re hard games, yes they make you break things, but that enjoyment of finally beating that boss you’ve been stuck on or getting the weapon you’ve been searching for to complete your build is such a great feeling. I highly recommend trying to do a play through or just giving it a shot
The game is more challenging than you may want, but that's exactly why it's so satisfying when you finally beat a challenging opponent, I understand some people won't play games unless they can assert dominance on real people and not A.I.
It's great. It's more beginner frindly than other souls games, since the open world allows you to explore, and grow stronger, before faceing a hard boss. If you cant beat it right away, just do something fun elsewere, and return 10 lvl later with a better wepon. You could also try 121 times until you beat a boss without getting stronger, and thats fine too. So many ways to play the game and have fun!
thing to remember with big bosses in soulsborne games: the closer you are to their balls the safer you are. unless they have like a fire aoe around them
tbh, the reason these bosses hit him so hard was because he had the HP of a character that just started the game throughout the entirety of the game. Usually people have level 50-60 vitality at this point, which would have given him about 4-5x the HP he currently has. He can hit hard, but at the cost of everything at the halfway point of the game onward one-shotting him. The game is a lot easier than this guy portrayed it as, and is 100% worth the try. Just use a quality build, and experiment with weapons and then you can swap your build whenever after you beat a certain boss! quality builds are 40 dexterity, 40 strength, and then the rest in stamina and HP. prioritize your Hp and stamina over your attacking stats (dex/strength), so you can take a few hits. you can always make your stat spread something like HP every 3 levels, stamina the 2 levels after that, and 1 in str and 1 in dex. After that, just keep that build in mind until you feel it's better to invest in your offensive stats more.
Funny thing is that when Jev made this video the bosses were actually stronger than they are now. As of right now they did some balance changes which included Radahn and a few others. Thus the game is actually way easier compared to when the game first released.
I think you would be pleasantly surprised in trying this game Tim. A vast majority of the clips from this ragetage are later in the game, in much higher level areas than the beginning, I think you could handle the first 8-10 hours of the game to give it a shot, there isn't any enemies too insane early game! In my opinion that is.
I tried dark souls when it was given away for free on xbox 360, couldn't get past the first boss didn't like it. But Elden Ring is truly deserving of the Game of the Year. The journey is amazing and if you explore the world (its not a ubisoft game) you get much stronger than Faze Jev he was underleveled like hell. Also DONT PLAY WITH KEYBOARD
Played Elden Ring and after I beat it the first time I went through ALL of the soulsbourne games and have beaten all of them multiple times. Elden Ring truly is one of the greatest games of all time easily

Jev was getting one shoted by bosses because he choose the magic build which does not give hi resistance and armor. Its so funny to watch this again i watched Jev play it months ago and like afew days ago he beat the game on the highest difficulty for like the 9th time.
My only experience with those games is dying 6 times in the dark souls 3 tutorial and uninstalling that same day. Playing elden ring it has made it into my top 3 favourite games! You’ll love it

Malenia isn't hard to counter except for the Waterfowl Dance (from my experience). She is easily parried & stance is easily broken.

Funny thing is that when Jev made this video the bosses were actually stronger than they are now. As of right now they did some balance changes which included Radahn and a few others. Thus the game is actually way easier compared to when the game first released.

I think you would be pleasantly surprised in trying this game Tim. A vast majority of the clips from this ragetage are later in the game, in much higher level areas than the beginning, I think you could handle the first 8-10 hours of the game to give it a shot, there isn't any enemies too insane early game! In my opinion that is.
Tim you gotta play ER. The rage is unreal but when you kill a boss you died to 20+ times, the feeling of accomplishment is unmatched.

I tried dark souls when it was given away for free on xbox 360, couldn't get past the first boss didn't like it. But Elden Ring is truly deserving of the Game of the Year. The journey is amazing and if you explore the world (its not a ubisoft game) you get much stronger than Faze Jev he was underleveled like hell. Also DONT PLAY WITH KEYBOARD

Played Elden Ring and after I beat it the first time I went through ALL of the soulsbourne games and have beaten all of them multiple times. Elden Ring truly is one of the greatest games of all time easily
Jev didn't max his health, put like 4 points only into it and is fighting end story bosses and wonders why he gets 1 shot when he has tutorial level life bar 😂
I never played a souls game or blood borne Tim and I promise you this will be the best gaming experience you had in forever Elden Ring is truly a timeless game

Its such a good game and there are so many ways to cheese it if you're getting fucked. Elden Ring has an unofficial "difficulty slider". Best souls game for a newbie.

Jev was getting one shoted by bosses because he choose the magic build which does not give hi resistance and armor. Its so funny to watch this again i watched Jev play it months ago and like afew days ago he beat the game on the highest difficulty for like the 9th time.

My only experience with those games is dying 6 times in the dark souls 3 tutorial and uninstalling that same day. Playing elden ring it has made it into my top 3 favourite games! You’ll love it
