Growing up, Broadway St. was filled with Santa Maria style BBQ pits throughout with different businesses or fundraisers selling SM style bbq. It was one of those things where you didn’t know who to buy from this time. Now when we visit, we only see one or two. Thanks for posting about my hometown.

Gentrification my dude... They can't afford SLO, so then they will start to live in Santa and boost up prices..soon the Jay's will be gone and replaced with Vacation Condos. It happened to SB now it's happening to Santa. Souless...
That's the dope thing about living in SM, you're legit 20 mins away from so many things! And to those who say they cant enjoy or afford these same things these 2 did, it's really not that expensive and it's all super close by... haha I don't care what anyone says the Santa Maria Valley is one of the dopest places to live on the coast of CA! I live in Santa Maria and i love it here. Grew up here and love the weather. We have so many fields of vegetables and fruits and this is the town of the strawberries. There so much to do here around. There's SLO, there is Arroyo Grande, Pismo Beach and many more beautiful places. Everything is close.

Most commonly they are refered to as the "Pismo Dunes". They are not. They are the Ocean Dunes.
