That’s actually what happens at concerts. A live singer can’t multiply her vocals to layer onto different tracks like in the studio. Watch any western diva’s performance and if it’s not a backing track, it’s two or three background singers both doubling and harmonizing with the star. And unlike many of those girls, Ailee’s moving and working her choreo with her dancers. She’s mindful of the energy and what sounds and looks good on stage, ad libbing on top of the track rather worrying about an evaluation card from some judging panel.

It is markedly different the past year or so across the industry, with live vocals gone from shows like Mcountdown, and with G-Dragon and other artists recently SCREAMING, fighting to be heard at the Gayeon awards.
