It feels kind of weird to see the Daytona Sports Car course with no chicane. I'm so used to seeing cars slow down and navigate from left to right on the straightaway every January. Nonetheless, what an amazing trip back in time this is. I'd love to see more races from IMSA's early years resurface online.
This is good quality video considering the year. Almost the last hurrah for the 935 before the GTPs took over. Great to see these legends racing it out. Thanks for the upload!
This was the year before they added the chicane. Also, this was the last 24-hour race run on the original road course.
I love the track without that chicane
@motorsportshistorychannel . They added the chicane because they were going too fast entering the 3rd turn banking, and cars were hitting the wall.
Was there a difference in the infield area?
