This is the first I've seen this movie. What a powerful performance and lesson that I truly needed to learn. That being explained in this poem.

I wept bucket when I saw this when it was first released and I became a fan of this great talented actor now I am here watching it again but my tears are because you have gone .... far too soon. RIP Alan Rickman x

Alan Rickman was a powerful, funny, brilliant actor and first came across him in Die Hard, where he was phenomenal as the lead terrorist (I can't remember the name, I can be bad at names).
So very sad he has now left us and even sadder that he will never return. I have found this piece truly moving. Very close to tears. RIP to a true acting legend

this movie made me want to see him as Cyrano ..it would have been awesome, reminds me of the end of the play were Cyrano , dying knows the letter Roxanne has in her hands by heart as he wrote it to her..

Great idea with all those poems from films. It reminds me though, the ONE ART Elizabeth Bishop from "Sisters" with Cameron Diaz, if I remeber it well and at least one poem from "Out of Africa", read by Redford.
Actually, the movie with Cameron Diaz is called "In Her Shoes." But you're right, it quotes excellent poems by Elizabeth Bishop and others. I'll post them on my channel eventually :)
