Everytime i finish a beat, i slap on my „master preset“ (10x Soundgoodizer on max) and it always turns out great. Wow! Thank you fl for this plugin! It really is one of the plugins of all time!
Fruity Balance is great for when you have instruments on a bus and want to automate their volume together. That way you keep the mixer volume slider free, and you don't have to automate more than one volume knob.
I use stereo enhancer for that lol
I prefer to put a limiter for that because the gain knob is at 50% there. That means you can just throw an lfo automation on it without any fiddling.

Convolver is so sick, it honestly might be S-Tier for me. The fact that you can import your own types of samples to emulate as reverb makes for so many possibilities too. It can make for some fun experimenting
With the panning plugin, you can right click the speed knob and sync it with the project tempo with steps.

@Alec Whiteley its just not the best limiter technically. Most of the problems from Image Line putting it on the master and people not gain staging.
Also maximus is also just a better optiok for mastering

wow this is a fantastic video! Super high quality production value and great explanations for all the plugins. I've been using FL for years and I didn't even know about fruity LSD. I was messing around with it and playing some melancholic chords on the 'goblin' preset made some of the most haunting and beautiful stuff I've heard. Really appreciate the video, super underrated.
I suggest you load tuner on your 'current' mix bus! this will allow you to see what note is played by whatever instrument/sound you have selected! This goes for visualizers and other analytics as well. Make sure never to load anything that changes the sound tho or you will never be able to mix/master again. (untill you take it off i guess, dramatic)
I ALWAYS used peak controller, you can have two instruments sent to one reverb send, but then sidechain that singular to both instruments individually. Cool trick!

Vocodex is so good! I know ableton users (primarily dubstep artists) that have bought it for their daw. FL really hit it out of the park with that one.
Vocodex is amazing for colour basses especially! Effector is also really good for trap and dubstep basses (mainly riddim) (coming from a dubstep artist)
Edit: fruity convolver is also great for colour basses
I use maximus on my 808's. Especially when I'm doing trap metal and need more low end on my distorted 808's. Never heard of anyone else doing anything close to that with it.
For a lot of distorted, angrier music, hardcore/distructor is a nasty combo on a guitar/bass bus

Parametric EQ2. I use it all the time as EQ, as filter, as volume control. Fruity reverb 2. Effector-mostly for delay and reverb. Limiter/Compressor-it's very visual. Why use other one. That's some of the most used by me.

Peak conttoller ONLY used for side chaining? Man peak conttoller is the goat. The LFO gives you full control over wobbles. Also if you tie the peak (inverted) onto a reverb wet signal it makes an auto duck for your reverb (so you can have BIG reverb tails that DONT interfere with the original signal) its called a reverb throw.
You're missing out. Its one of the best FL plugins once you understand what to tie its controls onto.
I agree. Tho, I only bother to set it up for shenanigans sometimes. Funnily enough, I don’t use it for side-chaining tho. I just don’t trust it for that, for some reason. I use it for stupid stuff. Like taking a live audio signal and using a bunch of band passes to control shit with my voice. Also, if you haven’t done that and have a mic, one of the funnest things to do. I have a reese and a neuro bass flp where you just talk into a mic and bass sounds come out. But, it’s pretty easy to set up a simple multiband sidechain with it, or duck reverb to vocals and stuff. Or to even use it as a dynamic eq kinda like a poor man’s proq 3 in a lot of ways but, you can link it to anything ever.
Frequency Shifter is total S-Tier. Try to use it to tune the fundamental frequency of kicks and snares, or just for carving sick risers into things. Totally essential!

7:59 The gain knob comes after the compression so it's not pushing the sound into the threshold. 19:30 a limiter can use "saturation" (clipping) but it's not the defining feature of a limiter. Soft Clipper also uses saturation (clipping). Saturation is distortion.
Yo Praxi, you should do a deep dive into convolver, I think A tier is fair but the plugin itself is actually goat'd and has a ton of features that are really helpful, you can actually EQ your reverb with convolver, and, you can emulate literally any reverb ever through convolver. Lastly, its presets list is insane especially when compared to fruity reverb 2
you can also do a reverse reverb effect on convolver which sounds super dope for vocals

Underrated if you know, you know plugins: waveshaper, EQUO, reeverb, peak controller xyz controller (patcher)
you should try out send more, it can do so much more then the mixer slots. it lets you add color to the delay, reverb, distortion whatever. its a whole different game when you can add a little compression or eq and fine tune those small details, i’m always surprised how much of a difference it makes
Fruity Convolver actually goes crazy. Tons of good presets, sure, but you can import your own samples and give sounds weird spectral, tonal, melodic or rhythmic properties... Try using a whole drum loop as a reverb impulse, it's sick af. Plus it has a built in EQ to tame resonances which is neat, you can shape the impulse sample internally like in Edison, you can record impulses from OTHER reverb plugins and basically copy them with convolver for less CPU usage, there's a ton of WILD options under the hood

I love using vocoding for voice acting. I like to toss a Vocodex on characters that are supposed to sound robotic. It gives off a good robot tone and they even have a built in preset for it which I used to build my own tone after making a few adjustments

Control surface gotta be on A tear, I may make EDM but holly shit it's fucking useful for global automation and extremely useful on my template (I have a bandpass frequently shifting open close effect on every song of mine and soloing can get annoying as the filter might close and i need to ALWAYS open the mixer to turn it off)

After having the chance of using Melodyne, Newtone seems so limited in comparison. It also sounds way worse too whenever you change the notes a semitone or more.

14:39 there is this thing i do to fix some problems with newtone, i use edison to record the sample that was made in newtone (this is mainly because i have the trial version and i cannot aford any other version because i have no money)

One thing I really hate about Newtone is that it doesn't sync with the actual position of vocals in your song. Say I'm recording vocals and want to tune them, in autotune graph and melodyne, I would transfer the vocals over and they stay synced to the original position in my song, new tone doesn't do that, so I can't really play the vocals in sync to my project, you just have to edit the vocals without music playing for the most part. It's nice that it's there, but it's just not ready yet.
Yeah it needs to like live update the file to be useful. That and it’s also hard to use the metronome while using it.
if you activate the slave playback to host option in newtone then right click on it and unlink from host selection and make the same time selection in both newtone and the main playlist (e.g 22-32 bars) then mute the vocal in the playlist newtone and whatever else is in the playlist will play back at the same time

*How to make House sidechain in Fruity Love Philter:*
• Load up default patch
• Turn on HQ envelopes (less clicking)
• Turn off oversampling (saves CPU)
• Set Filter type to OFF
• Enable Tempo on Vol Envelope
• Make a bar long LFO curve
• Make sure you set the start and endpoints to loop your LFO
TIP: If you want to move off-grid, you can always switch off the green magnet button on the bottom-right of the grid.

Fruity send is kind of redundant at this point, you can literally just route channels with the mixer routing capabilites, so just have a reverb channel and route your other channels to it and it does the same thing as fruity send without taking up a plugin slot.
Fruity send is useful for when u wanna send the signal to another send in the middle of ur processing chain.
@Matthew Hann but you can do that with the routing on the fruity mixer. You can route a single channel to like 50 channels if you want, you just click the little arrow that's at the bottom of the channel you want to route the current selected channel to. I do this commonly with reverbs and delays, I have an instruments rooted to channel 5, a reverb on channel 6, and a delay on channel 7, I'll route channel 5 to both 6 and 7, then route channel 7 to 6. Idk how fruity send can do anything that routing can't do, seems like fruity send was made before channel routing was really a thing.
Fruity Send does have some advantages, though.
1) You can mute the original mixer it is on and still hear the "sent to" mixer independently. Great for checking your wet channel when parallel processing. Without it, you mute dry, all sent signals are also muted.
2) Fruity Send is not affected by FX that come after it in the chain, so you can process something, send it elsewhere in the current state, and still add more FX. Good use for this is vocals where you want to compress it, then send it so you can EQ your dry and wet vocal mixers differently.
3) Similar to 1 and 2, Fruity Send's signal is not impacted by the volume slider of the mixer it is on. Let's say you wanted to automate your dry vocals' volume down for a transition and leave the wet reverb signal at the current volume. Without Send, your dry volume automation would affect the wet signal too.
