    They never talk about the next year at the final four rounds. CC made AR Look stupid and scored over 40 points on her and took her team out of the playoffs. First year she played they beat South Carolina and put them out but lost to LSU. The next year they Scorched LSU but failed to beat South Carolina.

      What is most impressive is CC took Iowa to back to back championship games, despite Iowa is a program that, not wasn't full of top 50 recruits or transfers unlike UConn & SC, but also Iowa had never been to a championship game in the history of the NCAA & had only been to 1 final four game way back in the mid 90s. When you factor in in the pedigree of the teams, its coach & its players, what CC did is much more impressive to me.

    • @Willard-l7t
      @Willard-l7t หลายเดือนก่อน +11

      They should thank Caitlin and Iowa for knocking South Carolina out of the final four in 2023, South Carolina routed LSU earlier in the season. 2023 was the first time Iowa had been to the final four since 1993, which was the first and only other time they made the final four prior to 2023 and 2024. Caitlin was the only 5 star on the team, both Kate Martin and Monika Czinano joined the team as 3 stars, while LSU was a team of mostly transfers (four 5 stars and four 4 stars) and a new 3 time champion coach in Mulkey. So like amyk said what they did was much more impressive than what any other stacked team did. If you want to see what class looks like, watch Caitlin's post game after the 2023 loss then compare it to Angel's (victim) post game after losing to Iowa in 2024.

    Anyone who is judging an athlete based on their God given color is racist by definition. Ask any of those people, “What has Caitlin done personally to make you hate her?”
    We all know that there is no answer to that question. You’re hating her because people like her. I want you to think about the stupidity it takes to hate someone for that reason.
    It must be a woman thing because not once when I was watching Michael Jordan play did I ever think, “I’d like him better if he was white.” Caitlin reminds me so much of him because of her dedication to the craft. He was a little more ornery than she is but very similar in their approach to the game. He was very tough and so is she, so players and the stupid among us are just going to have to adapt.

I’m also a woman of color and it gets so tiring to hear that we are all racists and homophobes because we have the audacity to support a young lady that just wants to play a game that she loves and for some ungodly reason in a league that she wants to see grow. It has been awful to see all this hate towards this woman just because she is white. That’s the only reason. So the racists here are not us.

But Im older and my philosophy is when the name calling and insults start…you are winning. Reese fans are just as hateful and nasty as some Clark fans but it’s all crickets w them. I have not heard how racist the Sky fans are. They have basically run Izzy Harrison out of town for retweets regarding not just ROTY..but all awards winners. Oh yeah..Karl Malone, Charles Barkley, Tim Duncan, Steve Nash, Larry Bird, Hakeem Olajuwon, Shaq, Reggie Miller, Clyde Drexler…all NBA hall of fame players never won a college championship either. A few didn’t win a pro title. Finally, CC didn’t delete her social media because she doesn’t look at it. It’s managed by her mother who has the good sense to advise Caitlin to stay off social media. Roll with the punches. Stupid is as stupid does. Remember this always..there is a researched correlation between racism and intelligence. Racist people are usually on the low IQ side. Prominent WNBA players who have spoken favorably about Clark? It's a short list. Napheesa Collier is one, and she's a big one; but Sophie Cunningham, who's white, is the only other one I can think of. There must be one or two others, but they don't come to mind.

    I watched another video that said that Larry Bird never won a championship in college either. If that is the case, it’s kind of odd that Sue Bird didn’t push back a bit on the narrative that winning college championships is some huge deal once a player starts making their mark as a pro. It unintentionally invalidates her dad’s accomplishments… which is crazy. Even before I paid any attention to basketball, I knew Larry Bird’s name; he had that kind of impact. I don’t think Sue thought through the implications of moving this goal post in an attempt to diminish Caitlin.
    EDIT: I have been kindly informed that Sue Bird and Larry Bird are not related. It never occurred to me that with their shared surname and basketball talent, that they might not be related. I appreciate the commenters who were so nice about correcting my error. ❤

      @@mikewiseman-pb7vx I saw this error elsewhere, and accepted it as fact because it seemed to make sense to me. When I looked up Sue and Larry Bird after seeing your comment, I found an article where Sue admitted to pretending that Larry was her uncle when she was younger. Which was kind of a cute/funny story. Thanks so much for the correction.

      @@Stenocommander I feel a little silly for making an assumption based on a last name and comments I read elsewhere, but it seemed to make sense to me with both of their basketball talent as well as the shared surname. Oops.
      But, like you said, even without the relationship with Larry Bird, I'm still surprised that Sue Bird didn't push back due to the number of NBA greats who had not won any college championships.

    Winning a ring has nothing to do with one’s prowess on the court. Everyone on the team gets a ring so that would make those that never play just has good as the starters same skill level same percentage for shooting et centra, even the trainers get a ring they don’t even play basketball only conceded players use this has a mark of excellence. It is a mark has to team play but never individual play. Being voted as collegiate player of the year is way more affirmative has to the skill of the player. Has been players just pick random marks. that benefits them. So if you don’t win the championship ring does that mean you can’t be MVP?

    • @Stenocommander
      @Stenocommander หลายเดือนก่อน

      Absolutely! I keep on saying this! Some of the greats don't have a ring; that does nothing to diminish their individual skill. Robert Horry won 7 rings in the NBA; he averaged 7.0 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game over his career. Caitlin took a mediocre Iowa team, from a school that hadn't been in the Final Four since 1994, to two consecutive championship games, beating UConn, South Carolina, and LSU along the way -- then couldn't drag them through the last 20 minutes. Carrying a team on your back is hard work! In her four years at UConn, Stewie played with 12 people who were chosen in the first round of the W draft, including Napheesa; Caitlin played with 1 who was chosen in the second round -- #17 -- Kate Martin. Teams win championships; individuals don't.

    Moving the goalpost on, Clark would matter except for one thing, she’s the one person in the universe that pays no attention to other people are saying about her world. That’s in control of her world she is. And as far as the collective, WNBA, the truth is Clark is more in control of it as anyone.

    UCONN and South Carolina will be in the Final 4 in 2025 pretty much guarantee it. They by far have the best total talent on their teams. Southern Cal has 3 top players on their team. These teams are loaded with 5 Star players. Some of them will be cheerleaders on the sidelines and rarely play except in blowouts. That is what Iowa and most every team have to deal with. You go Iowa because you are from Iowa or a neighboring state. Typically you are a 3 star player if that. Geno did not want her and CC chose Iowa over Notre Dame. ND she probably could have won a championship there. In WCBB, 3 star athletes do not beat a team of 5 star athletes. In MCBB it happens because of the one and done rule. A team full of 3 star Seniors often beat a team full of 5 star Freshmen and Sophomore. See Duke and Kentucky in the tournament.
