- With Harley-Davidson, BMW etc launching new models soon, could I be lured away from Indian Motorcycles? A question I had to ask.

I read your comments all the time on youtube. And you are one of the reasons I bought a 2022 chief darkhorse .After watching your
Comparison and size chart ,I did a demo .That was it I couldn't find one so I found used one at a BMW dealership with 650 mi on it with accessories for a great price and 1 year of the factory warranty left. So thanks for the great videos from Chicago Ill also enjoy the weather its dam cold and snowy here.
Thanks Mike
.
Cheers Mike! I feel sorry for you guys who can't ride all year round.
G'day Paul. So many bikes, so little time. Sometimes it also comes down to money available. One thing that remains a constant is the fact that we only have one run at life, therefore, have whatever bike takes your fancy at the time brother! I just downsized once more from a 650 RE, to the RE 350 Classic. Did I truly have to? No. I wanted to as I love that classic look and I am now restricted to just riding around town. Suits me perfectly. Go for whatever appeals to you mate. Cheers from up Nth.
Hey Andy! 650 down to 350, interesting. But i get it! 👍
Yep same here Paul, the bike needs to be irresistible for me to want it. I have my eye on a few at the moment, just timing is not there yet!
Only issue with Indian is there is not really an aftermarket. Harley you can do many different things to your bike, make it more your own.
Actually, the aftermarket segment is growing for Indian. But you're right, when it comes to aftermarket, Harley guys have it made
Hello Paul I watched a lot of your videos about the Indian chief Dark Horse I was so impressed I went out and bought one a 2024 Sunset red metallic I bought it the Monday before Thanksgiving and have a total of 12 Mi on it I live in northern Wisconsin and can't wait for spring / summer to go out for a ride but in the meantime I keep watching your videos and waiting for riding weather
Awesome choice, the Sunset Red Metallic is stunning! That's the colour I would've gone for if it was available when buying mine. Enjoy!
I almost went with a Indian last year but decided to go with a low rider st. My opinion it was the best overall platform for my dollar. Commuter, touring and city street cruising. Appreciate you and your work. Look forward to your thoughts on 2025 models. Thanks
Cheers Whisky! The Low Rider ST is a nice ride. Good choice!
I own a 1988 Lowrider with a sidecar and a 2022 Pan America, I love both of them. I think HD and Indian's bigger bikes are just too expensive, and I'm not into forward pegs. I was almost tempted with the R18, when I was looking at the Pan Am, but I wanted a sports tourer, that could handle our rough Victorian roads, and that it does well.
Nice pair of bikes! I've ridden the Pan Am, very impressive.
I'm not loyal to any brand either, but on saying that, as you know Paul, Harley have nailed it for my needs at this point in time. But it's great to see what else is around. BMW is really the only other brand that would cater for my height, but accessories are always an issue with that brand.
People should not be loyal to brand. Only value in the end.
As for Indian, do you know anything about FTR plans? Looks like they are discontinued.
I did see Shadetree Surgeon talking about that. I haven't heard anything, I'll ask the guys at Indian motorcycle Ballarat next time I'm in.
@@BikesILike I just checked his video, and you are right. He also mentions it. Hope they will refresh the FTR, as it is one of the kind bike. Also was planing to get one. Keep us posted if you found out something about this topic.
@bojan2501 Will do
I was lured away from indian because the dealership refused to uninstall the GPS tracking device that THEY installed, and also refused to remove that ridiculous "lifetime battery warranty" from the sales contract.
Interesting
Jeez I thought you were Red Green from the thumbnail lol
Lol, never heard of Red Green, had to go searching. I can see the resemblance. :)
If that BMW became reality, I’ll be building another shed
🤔
LOL
Its the Honda Hornet 1000 SP that has me thinking about which family members I could get away with selling this year.
Yeah, Honda knocked it out of the park with that one. I'd be torn between that and the new 2025 Z900
i think what you have , or harley cruiser is about the best , bmw = trouble , also sales of bmw limited due to == no way of feet forward ;;
I am confused mate I keep hearing BMW are trouble but everyone I know who owns them has no trouble at all
@@jackchristodoulou197 yes , that's often the case , depends on what models, i had a friend who just got home on a brand new gs - fork seal oil running out , a local kawasaki dealer took on a mechanic from a bmw dealer and was confused why there was so little warranty work - 2 jobs in 3 months , he said it was non stop at bmw dealer , shaft drive bearings can be bad , and electrics - like a lot of modern bikes , advice - if your spending a lot on one = get a FACTORY warranty if poss ;
It can be hit and miss. That's the problem
Don’t hold your breath on Harley but BMW… Wow! R20
Well that’s refreshing to hear someone saying it’s going to be a fun time in 2025 for motorcycling. Most of what I hear is gloom and doom for the motorcycle industry.
I have to admit, I'm an eternal optimist.
Any thoughts on the Super Meteor 650?
Yeah, I like it! But for me, if I was going to keep it stock, I'd go for the Shotgun 650. I like it better. If I was going to spend money modifying, I'd go for the Continental 650.
