There seems to be a bit of confusion with the honorific formality in here, so I thought I'd explain a bit of what I know!
A lot of Asian languages have these sorts of formalities and are kept as a sign of respect towards the other individual. A popular example from Japan would be seniors or higher ups being referred to with "senpai" or "san" being used with people of the same age or status. "San" is seen as more respectful than "chan" or "kun" from what I know. With close friends, you can drop the honorific entirely, even if there's an age gap between the two of you, but it most likely depends on the person. Soraru probably wasn't angry at Mafu at all and was most likely teasing him more than anything since they're really close. Mafu apologising so profusely might come from the fact that he holds a lot of respect for Soraru, (he *always* refers to him using "san") so dropping it was probably seen as disrespectful for him to do on his part.
Yeah! If you're close friends even with an age gap we usually drop san or senpai I even nick named my Senpai www
“Chan” is usually only used for kids or close female friends, as it’s a very cutesy honorific and obviously very informal.
“Kun” is more formal than “Chan” but still less formal than “San,” and is usually used for males that are the about the same age or younger than you, but can also be used for females much younger than you. (For example, can be used on a male classmate)
“San” is the most formal of the 3 and generally the most polite way to refer to anyone, which also makes it the safest honorific to use on even a complete stranger.
Not using any honorific (especially when using first names) is either very disrespectful or shows that you are very close friends.
So they went through all this just for Mafumafu to tell soraru to fix his mic😂😂😂
I cant count how many times i rewinded Soraru's laugh
this is so awkward ww and soraru's "honto~?" HDJSJDJS
Mafu get scared when he called soraru without 'san'..he keep saying sorry😂
I see that people are a tad confused with the honorifics still. Yes, you are expected to call a not so close friend with honorifics and suddenly dropping them it can be seen as rude, however this is NOT whats happening here. Soraru and Mafu are well beyond that point in their friendship, Soraru mostly calls Mafu just "Mafumafu" without any honorifics, but Mafu choses to keep calling him "Soraru-san" due to the respect he has for him, him being slightly older and most likely due to Soraru helping him A LOT when he was having some bad rough times. Mafu just got his tongue twisted and Soraru is too used to get called "Soraru-san" by him so he proceeded to tease him for that, Mafu apologized so Soraru wouldn't take it badly (which he wouldn't anyway) but also so the listeners/viewers would't take it the wrong way and think he was being rude to Soraru (This could be taken out of context REALLY easy).
I wanted to clarify it since I saw that a lot of people thought "Mafu and Soraru aren't that close after all..." or that Mafu had to apologize for dropping the manners, or that Soraru was actually annoyed.
Mafumafu is cute & polite! ^^ Thank you for posting.
I LOVE HOW MAFU APOLOGIZES PROFUSELY BC OF THE AMOUNT OF RESPECT HE HAS FOR SORARU 😭
At this point, Mafumafu’s cute keigo is iconic haha, and it’s adorable that he keeps using -san with Soraru despite knowing him for so long
Mafumafu could easily voice a tsundare character and no one would dare to question his tone and voice which is perfect for any anime character
Krjehshh it feels weird to not hear mafu saying soraru-san without the san
S-O-R-A-R-U CHAAAAAAaaaaaannnnn......
Awwww 😁
They are so kind and sweet 💙🤍
And this is why I love and appreciete them so much...
So even if you’re close with each other you still cannot drop the manners? I’m confused now 😭
yes, that's just how japanese people are, (and also yes, since they're 3 years apart)
Soraru's already 31
But it depends on the person too. Some are okay without honorifics, some aren't
For example: Jel calls Satomi as 'Sato-chan/Sacchan', even he's 3 years younger than Satomi
@@Dynamight_01 yeah it depends on both agreements and favor but it does usually take a lot of years for close friends to drop the honorifics.
i think actually soraru-san doesn't really mind called without honorifics, for example, sometimes nqrse-san and 96neko-san called him "sorarun"; chihiro-san and kuzuha-san who just played with him for the first time already called him "rarusan/rarusen"; and he even said he didn't mind when kanae-san calls him "sorasora". that's why a lot of acquaintances said he is easy to get along with. in this conversation he just being conscious(?) because mafumafu-san usually (always) calls him "soraru-san" and just wanted to tease mafumafu-san.
😂That was really something! Do you mind telling me where I can find the whole video?
Edit: NVM, I dumb, I didn't read the description. Thanks for translating it!
Im gonns go ask soraru to give me a ringtone of his voice lmao jokee
I always call him Soraru-kun
wow, having to apologize like that only for forgetting to say ''San'', even after being close friends for many years...;; Japanese manners are so strict it's scary
It's not that scary. It's different cultures. In many Asian countries we call elder brother/sister/senior with some prefix.
Usually we don't call them by their name, because it's quite rude & disrespectful and I'm not Japanese.
And it also depends on the person. I think Soraru kinda teasing him, because Soraru once said to Sou-chan "You can call me Sorarun too"
@Minh Nguyễn Ngọc Bình it really cute when mafu idol is Soraru-san like awkkkk
You can drop formalities but I think Mafu-kun just uses san out of the respect he has for Soraru san, it also depends on the person. For example my senpai and I are two years apart, but I gave her a nick name! And Soraru San was just teasing him ;)
awww XD
I never call you Soraru....
Welp Soraru no mic
IM DYING 🤣
i wonder whats the music they had in the background (ik the song but i wonder what version that is )
soraru is triggered
Wwww
I’m so sorry I’m late but where can watch the original video?
@@kiyaa8984 I watch the livestream before but I don’t remember they do that but I will rewatch it so thank you so much

:3 ay mi coranzoncito
HMMMMM
Like it it on twicasting?
Well, as an Asian from where honorific formalities are used, I want to tell this to you guys.
What they are doing is real family members or intimate friends but with some age gap thing (and also a joke) 💀💀
Usually they dont mind being called without ‘san’ bc they are so close, but seeing lille bro keep saying sorry is just funny?? At least we think so. Mafu and soraru remind me of me and my sister. Yes it’s some kinda common joke here haha
UwU 0:51 is so cuteeee
Soraru’s clearly teasing Mafumafu, www. He got so flustered :(
