Hi guys! Short one today; it was so nice out this week that I decided to try getting the1937 Chevy out of the barn and heading into town to run a few errands! I thought it was appropriate that it is February 1 today and this is the car I chose for February in the CWMC calendar... Frankers accompanied me, of course, and the Chev was just a delight on such an unusually warm day! Thanks to everyone who subscribed to our channel here, and thanks also for all of your "likes" and comments!

Ah, the accessory heater! I put an "Arvin" in Dad's '41 Dodge pickup, back in the early '70's. Those devices had the best names, like "South Wind", "Tropic Aire" and (my favorite) "Hadees" You felt warmer, just reading the emblems! Any day that Frankers gets a ride is a better day for the rest of us!
She sounds so great with the new exhaust! That and the growl of the straight cut gears is a real trip back in time. That reminds me- time to give the calendar a flipski! Cheers!
This little excursion reminds me of my late friend Steve Dana who used to take his huge open brass car out in the middle winter and drive down to St Albans on the interstate all rugged up just for the fun of it. Rest in peace old friend.
My dad had a 1960 Chevy pickup with a 6 (would've been a 235) through most of the '70s - the exhaust note of a Stovebolt is one of the sounds of my childhood. Thanks for sharing this, just the audio brings back memories.
Thanks for taking us along! The Chevy sounds like the '36 Dodge I had years ago-We are having a break in the weather here in Cleveland as well- I took advantage of it and started my grandmother's '68 Impala- It was last ran in October-a few pumps of the pedal, a couple of cranks, and she fired right up! Who needs electronic ignition and fuel injection? Not me! Cheers!
We're having similar weather in north central Kentucky, lots of bitter cold, then snow and then enough heavy rain to wash the salt away (Kentucky is the southern part of the Salt Belt) so I've had my '68 Fury VIP out a couple of times this week. The Fury reminded me of how much I hate driving 21st Century cars.
I bet that lifted a few peoples spirits, a few days of currant bun and seeing an old car brought out of hibernation, All The Best from Somerset, England.
Thank you for sharing that's cool. Taking out a classic car for a ride in the middle of winter and the doggy is enjoying the ride. I can see it on her face.
The drone of those straight-cut gears in low is something you don't hear in todays fancy cars! I must say it make the '37 sound kind of like a tractor in "low". Love this!
I've said it before and I'll say it again - I'm always happy when the Chevy comes out. It's just such a gem, the repair story will always be remembered - and you just don't see them anymore! Thanks for giving it a good home :)
Yep, when the cabin fever hits, it's nice to have a break. Perfect car for that. To think those were everyone's daily's at one time. Imagine a video like this decades from now.
Getting up this morning and realizing it was/is Febry first by looking at my calendar, I saw the '37 Chevy. Cool ! And now yourtaking her out with Frankers for a spin with a worthy errand to run. Show your '37 Chevy more warmth or should I say less cold with mild temps over your way and over here in the banana belt of ON. See you gents on Saturday. Cheers! (Almost felt I was in the back seat with Frankers) Fanx!)
Yup nice here in Michigan too Scott. Think I'll fire up the hemi in my 55 Dodge stake truck too. I ran thr BBC in my Merc last week. My Dodge takes about twice as long as your 37 Chev for the mechanical fuel pump to get gas up to the carb. I worry the ethanol is going to ruin the diaphragm in that fuel pump. I add 4oz of marvel mystery oil to every 10gal fuel . Was told that helps. I know the old 1st gen Hemi seems to like the slight oiling of the cylinder walls. See ya Saturday. Cheers ! 👊😎👍
One of the best things you can do for an old machine is to run it now and then. Nice part of the world you live in there, cool to be able to go for a spin, and skip the cold without heading south.
The last few rides in autumn I always have my windows down with the heater on full in my 4DHT. Doesn't seem right with them up unless I get caught in a rain storm.
I like this car a lot, I posted on my FB a picture of me in Ontario "Feels like spring" and I got a bunch of laughing emoji's from my southern american friends.
Scott watching you take Frankers for a “RIDE” in the 37 Chevrolet brought back memories of taking my 2 long departed Staffordshire Terriers (Lexi and Alfie) for a back road spin in my old 37 Pontiac Special Deluxe…the dogs and the old Poncho were always up for an adventure. Love your content…can’t wait for Saturdays upload.
What an absolutely gorgeous car,, and Francine sitting in the backseat looks like you're Driving Miss Daisy LOL, we haven't had sunshine in Southern Ontario it seems like weeks but they're talking nice weather for the weekend, kind of inspiring me to get my old 83 Scottsdale Chevy pickup out for a drive, maybe take the old Harley out for a ride also, anyway that was a great ride along looking forward to Saturday, cheers from Ontario
Been an easy winter in the west we in Minnesota hit 55 F that is 40 degrees above normal. I had my 1950 Chev. Pickup on the road also. I drove it out to a friends to replace the torque tube gaskets that were leaking. Crazy … can’t say I missed having a long winter. Windows must come down when the temp is over 40 F / 5C because it feels so much warmer after -40. Best wishes to you and happy motoring
Giving the Chevy some mid Winter exercise, nice! Down here in Southern Colorado and other areas we've had a week of mostly sunny and very pleasant 50s and 60s weather, too. It's short bursts of warm weather that make Winter at least somewhat bearable as I'm sure it does to you up North. But tomorrow into the weekend we're getting a Low system coming on shore from Washington Southward into the Southwest and the mountains are supposed to get lots of snow so the party's over for a time. With the lack of cold air we're told we may get cold rain here or a rain/snow mix with not much sticking. Hey, it's now February so Spring ain't far behind. Always nice to get the special cars out for a sunny day drive. Saw several street rods out this past week since there was a "Kool Kar Show" locally this weekend. Guys needed to get their "toys" cranked up for some fun. Cheers!
I have a WW2 era Singer 111w industrial walking foot sewing machine that I am using to learn how to sew upholstery. I rebuilt it a couple of years ago after it sat in storage for 40 years. The timing belt was toast. It is the same colour and era as the 37 Chevy. Watching you take the 37 out to buy vinyl reminded me that it’s time to get back to work on my boogie van interior. Spring is just around the corner.
Where I am in Iowa started the month out with a blizzard, then subzero temps. Yesterday and today, we were in the 50's F. Glad my friends in Alberta had close to the same. I didn't get my bike out, primarily because of salt/sand on tge road, but I'm glad Scott gave the 37 some exercise.
That 37 is a Beauty !!!!!! Frankers says absolutely yes to a Ride in the Chevy Thank you for the video Scott , this is a nice bonus feature very special car here
We're having similar warm weather here as well! I thought the Spring Thaw 'windows down, heat on' was a Minnesota thing, but maybe we copied that from our neighbors to the North? Cheers, and looking forward to Saturday's episode 👍
I can take or leave all the other stuff but Bullshit Shenanigans? I'm in! Lol. A nice drive on a crisp winters day. Dry and sunny, can't be beat! Nice to see the old Chev oot and aboot. All the best, Mart in England.
It has been really nice lately. I backed my car out for just a bit and woke up the neighbourhood for a little bit. The old Chev looked like it had a blast getting out for a bit. Seemed like mini Frankers enjoyed that treat as much as we did!
Thanks again. It was great to see the old Chevy out and about. Especially in a Canadian winter! But you know the expression; if you don't like th weather, wait five minutes. Cheers!
Perfect video on the 1st day of February, just a coincidence the 1st day of the month displayed on the CWM calendar's has a perfectly framed 37' Chevy with Frankers back seat driving. Great way to start the month. Love it!
Scott, between you, a few agents and Strong's Garage you have manifested one very sweet running 87 year old and now that the seats but not the landscape are blanketed you're able to errand with the Menace worry free! Congrats and Cheers all around! Love the whine of those straight cut gears!
That was a treat riding along in the 37 Chevy. She sounds so nice and looks really nice. Don't forget to disconnect the battery and put it on a battery tender so it will be fresh for the next ride.Pat mini menace for me. She is so nice.
What a fucken treat ! If i had this 37 chev , i would drive it daily , seen to run well , and look’ fantastic , i’m in love ! Well done Scott , well done
Outstanding winter cruise with the Chevy. We also had a healthy cold snap followed by some nice warm and dry. Cold and wet for our Tri-State Swap Meet this weekend but it’s all indoors. Cheers from Denver
Mighty 216 stove bolt 6 sounds sweet keep marvel mystery oil and stabil in fuel it helps lubricant everything And keep fuel fresh its a beauty thanks for posting this 😊👍

1:06 Frankers, "Let's take it for a spin! Let's take it for a spin!"
Canadian time machine, it must be 1937 somewhere.
This is the kind of car the film makers seek when making films of the late 1930's and '40's of a Main street with parked cars in the background.
Ah, the accessory heater! I put an "Arvin" in Dad's '41 Dodge pickup, back in the early '70's. Love the sound of stovebolt's and straight cut gears! I'm more than a little jealous...this was good motivation for me to get my 35 back on the road
Yeah buddy! Get that lovely 35 sorted out and come for a visit! Cheers from me and the Menace...
Well that worked out well with the calendar! Happy February guys!
What a beautiful machine. You must enjoy seeing people's reactions when they see it. Thanks for the ride. Cheers!

Frankers just looks like a princess back there. 😁
Glad that You chose to take us along.
Best Wishes to everyone at Cold War Motors.

Sneaky cruise. No salt on the roads. DD Speed shop Dan taking your great advice and working magic on his Camaro. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

We are very much looking forward to the same old shit. Saturdays just ain't the same without it.

Hey Franker's, you want to go to town in the 37 Chev?
In she goes! This is a fun show.
I bet that lifted a few peoples spirits, a few days of currant bun and seeing an old car brought out of hibernation, All The Best from Somerset, England.
I like the sound of the '37 Chevy in first gear
Congrats Scott on Winter taking a vacation! Anytime someone gets a chance to take their pride and joy out for a ride before Spring is a treat!
Thank you! What a treat to see the 37 out and about. And how awesome for you to have such a great car.
Thank you for sharing that's cool. Taking out a classic car for a ride in the middle of winter and the doggy is enjoying the ride. I can see it on her face.

Hard to believe that it's February in Alberta...but a great day for a ride in a great car...thanks to you and Franker for sharing 😎👍
Glad you enjoyed it! Cheers...
Nice that you had the chance to take the Chev for a drive. 👍
What a delight to take this car out in the middle of winter! I totally get that joy.

Nice weather for a drive 🚗 👌 it warmed everywhere after that nasty cold 🥶 spell 47 days till spring 🏝 😊

Heat up and windows down is good for the soul in Winter.
What a delightful surprise, more so for you & for Frankers, to have a window of mild weather in winter and take an old car out for a lovely riide.
That '37 Chevy is such an amazing piece of automotive history! Thank you, Scott! I'm looking forward to you getting the Citroen TA out and about!
The last few rides in autumn I always have my windows down with the heater on full in my 4DHT. Doesn't seem right with them up unless I get caught in a rain storm.

Chevy sounds great .
Sounds like a Spitfire warming up ready for take off. Got to love it!
my grandfather had a 38 master deluxe chevy and would use knoby tread snow tires that are not made anymore.

Mighty satisfying. Thanks!
My Uncle Ed's first car, the '37 Chev. He's 96 now and I've sent him this video. I'm sure it'll bring back some fond memories.
