I'm so so sooooo glad you decided to finish this! I thought your reasoning for never finishing the first one was sound and I was willing to live with it but now that we have the joke version and the real version it makes the project doubly as sweet! it always sorta made me sad that parts like nifty's never got to shine and honestly finishing it just for those few outstanding parts. I was lucky that mine was in both versions but I digress. I think all your friends did a fantastic fantastic job! not to mention that outro was stunning! you all didn't have to do that but it just added that extra level of polish. ^^ I wish you the best of luck with your future projects and I hope that if you ever have need of an animator you might keep me in mind and reach out!

I just read the old Roxanne's comment section and it made me very sad. I love the old one for its humor and the new one for its beauty. Good job to every animator on both!

this entire map is absolutely fantastic, but there's one little animation that really stuck out to me on my rewatch here! kay2036's part at about 2:19 you can see squirrelflight pull her tail away as soon as brambleclaw had his back to them! i think that little symbolism of squirrelflight perhaps not considering ashfur as seriously as brambleclaw is portrayed so neatly there! it kinda sets up a little foreshadowing about what the rest of the map has to show!
I'm so sorry that you got so outright attacked for the initial cancelling of the map. It always boiled my blood, and I wasn't even a participant, let alone the host. I can't imagine the stress you were under and I'm so sorry to everyone involved that this awful mess popped up around something you, A: worked hard on, and B: thought would be looked at reasonably.
Though tbh your spoof maps are some of the ones I rewatch the most, and the Roxanne spoof was genuinely one of my favourites. It's just,, funny. It's great.
All that said, the finished product is absolutely PHENOMENAL. I'm so glad that everyone can move past this and appreciate all the hard work put in both by you, Rea, as well as all your amazing friends and animators. I'm genuinely stunned by the emotion put into every scene, and the end credits are so perfect for this MAP. All components of this come together in such a great way, and I hope everyone involved is really proud, as well as hope that they all take some time for themselves, because damn you all deserve it. Especially those involved in finishing it.

What never fails to baffle me is I could never figure out this version of the song anywhere uploaded online, there are so many key differences from the both original and extended versions from the film's soundtrack. Nothing ever comes near to exact as the one in the MAP. It could very well be unique to this video in particular but the audio manipulation is outstanding!! I could understand a few cut out instrumental moments but parts with singing/ talking where the music is completely different or even when the lyrics differ, makes my brain so smooth >:0 I'm just so curious how it was done, its been YEARSSS

I actually remember a friend and I finding this version a few years back, just after this came out. I think it was called something like “El Tango De Roxanne ‘epic version cover,’” or something like that. I’ve never been able to find it since though, so I believe it no longer exists, but it was definitely a thing at one point…

Shoutout to all the people who put their heads together and worked so UNBELIEVABLY HARD to make this happen. The effort really shows and more than pays off in the end. I can confidently say that this is one of the most beautiful MAPs out there and EVERYONE did a groundbreaking job. I loved all of your past MAPs and each one holds a special place in my heart, as they have inspired me countless times. I adored the concepts and execution, so though it's sad to see you leaving that behind, I'm glad you're doing something that makes you happier and are able to move on from such a tedious task!! I'm excited to see all you guys' studio work

I think this is the first time a finished MAP has ever left me at a complete loss for words. After rewatching it three times, I still find it extremely difficult to express how truly special this collaboration became, not just in animation and direction quality (both of which are certainly in no short supply) but in the love and excitement it's progress continually sparked from thousands of fans of the series. This much awaited 8 minutes of blood, sweat, and tears is, in my mind, a shining example of what so many of the immensely talented members of our community are capable of.
Rea - I cannot applaud you enough on both your outstanding directing and the sheer determination that drove you and your friends to see this to completion. And as someone who has looked up to and been inspired by your work for over 6 years, I am both blown away and so damn proud of your progress careerwise. I think I speak for all of us when I say we are incredibly excited for all that is yet to come. And what the hell - those credit animations had no right to be so awesome.
(In summary - it would be a massive understatement to say Roxanne surpassed my expectations. Roxanne took my expectations, lit them on fire, and blew them out of the fucking park.)
If you think about the shots of dead Ashfur passionately yelling 'ROOOOOOOXAAAAAANNNNE' they're frickin amazing but just picture Ashfur alone in Starclan just really passionately yelling 'SQUIIIRRELFLIIIGHHTT' to himself and it makes you wonder

OMG IS FINALLY HERE AAAAAA OMG ITS AMAZING GOSH All the parts look so professional honestly this was worth the wait :00 I am kinda annoyed though that people sent completely unnecessary comments about the map on the april fools map, like people should of respected your decision about the map since you are the host of the map and the people commenting don't so anything or put any effort into the map, and all they did was make people upset. I am still super happy that this map got finished tho because this was the first ever map call i saw and what got me into this map community in the first place and even though this is your last map i cant wait too see the stuff you make in the future, your a massive inspiration!!

I think it had something to do with Hollyleaf thinking they were the kits of rouges and not wanting anyone to find out, but after realizing she was the half-clan daughter of a medicine cat, she wanted Leafpool to be punished.
Hollyleaf just lives in the Alexander Hamilton mindset
I figured it was Hollyleaf's guilt of her killing a cat while not in battle, which is against the Warrior Code, something that she was super against, on top of the pressure of knowing that she wasn't Bramble's kid, and eventually figuring out that not only was she half-clan, but also the kit of a medicine cat.
Lots of stuff that piled on, and she took it out on Ashfur.
Now as to why they did it for PLOT, I have no idea.

Because, instead of just saying, "I'm sorry guys, it's canceled", you actually made it into a prank, something that was very April-first-y. And I liked it.

Your cancelation should have (and didn't, in my opinion) have any effect (goddammit I keep rewriting that word because I'm second-guessing myself) on your credibility.
I've seen -and been in- many canceled MAPs. Do I hate the person? No. I may be a little upset for a while, but only towards MYSELF for not trying to help more -- and even then, I know there had to have been something that came up.
I know I'm jumping all over the place in this comment, so I deeply apologize for the confusion there, as well.
And I cannot emphasis ENOUGH how wrong it was of people to react so negatively towards your cancelation and joke MAP. It was wrong in every damn way.
I, personally, enjoyed it. You made it FUN. You made it... You made it... God, I can't think of the word. Fun? Funny? Interactive? Interesting? Enjoyable?
You tried to give us SOMETHING, knowing full-well that you weren't going to continue the MAP. And that's a helluva lot more than the majority of cancelations I see (again -- nothing bad in that, either!), and I hate how it was simply ignored.
And, as much as I am going to miss watching your MAPS go from callings to finished, I am not angered by it.
You truly do deserve to choose how you go about your life, and what is best for YOU.
So ignore the idiots who want only to believe THEIR opinions matter more; you are fully entitled to your own life, and they do NOT control that. Ignore the people who talk shit about how you should be "tougher"; you are one of the strongest people I know. Ignore the haters who berate and belittle you for "quitting" or "chickening out"; their words are nothing more than that -- meaningless words on a screen from a pathetic, cowardly people.
And do not ever, under ANY circumstances, let other's negativity bring you down.
You are beautiful. Independent. Strong. And your own person.
You have a life. A job. Maybe a family?
And you need to, if you feel it is best, focus on THAT.
NOT making strangers happy at your expense.
Whatever you decide, I respect. And I'm sure there are just as many supporters of you as haters, if not MORE. Some of us may stay silent, some may not comment in fear of others' wrath.

Warrior cats fans are like Sonic the Hedgehog fans, it's come to a point in the franchise where the fans are clearly better at making work for the series than the current people working on it are, and at this rate they just need to hire their fans! So many OG warriors animators in this, all so talented. by far one of the most incredible and cohesive examples of what the WC community is capable of. 8 minutes of eye candy, seriously, even years later.
Again, I don't think I would even want an official animation of Warriors without fans being involved. Videos like this set the bar up high, and with this supposed Warriors movie being stuck in production hell, I'm not holding my breath that we can exceed the incredible work you guys have done. I hope some of you can take inspiration and create your own series, you're all so incredibly capable. ❤
Yeah gotta admit. The fans make EVERYTHING better from what i see. Like idk man, there official site & merch is even disappointing. I do like some of it, but it’s definitely not up to par with my expectations .
I feel like if fans ran the site… YES SOME THINGS would be out of hand, un-age appropriate, and out of line with the book series’s intent/constraint on certain things.

I've read all the Warrior Cats books, but this hits harder than them all. So many sad deaths, but this one got me. I don't know if I can look at Warrior Cats the same again.

Christ this is aMaZiNg,, im just waiting for the day people finally understand that MAPs are hard as hell to host and on top of that when you have lazy, unresponsive or just unwilling participants taking up spaces cancelling a MAP is the best thing you can do. Some people out there really just trying bash other's on a subject they got not experience in (not naming any names but uhhh *cough* spoctor). I'm so surprised to actually see this finished it's so amazing and wonderful and aaAAaHH i can't this is the best MAP ever. Fantastic work to all of the animators that was amazing. Seriously though you and the animators that helped finish the MAP are the best for actually pulling through and making this you really nailed it!!!

one of my favorite maps! right here!! ashfur’s heartbrokenness, the fluidness of the story and the animations, they are all so clear!! the song is so fitting!! which i love so much!! the character designs are so pretty!! ive watched this map multiple times and loved it so much each time.
i remember now that there are people who didn't know of rea during her very long time in the warriors fandom and it's *so* funny to me somehow.
anyways i love this map to death, especially the fire scenes. god. nifty-senpai's animations make me WEEP with how good they are.

Squirrelflight is the Ginger furred cat, Brambleclaw’s the dark brown tabby, and Ashfur’s the gray cat with dark gray flecks.
Squirrelflight and Brambleclaw love each other very much, but Ashfur is jealous of how much they love each other. When Squirrelflight had Brambleclaw’s so-called kits, Ashfur was really mad, so during a fire, the kits (names Hollyleaf (black she-cat) Jayfeather (gray tabby), and Lionblaze (Golden Tabby)) we’re surrounded by fire, and the only way getting out was by a log/stick, which Squirrelflight was going to hand over to them. But, Ashfur was blocking the way, which made Squirrelflight admit that Jayfeather, Hollyleaf, and Lionblaze were not her kits (They where her sister’s (Leafpool’s (3:03, cat on the right))). When Ashfur, Hollyleaf, Jayfeather, and Lionblaze heard the news, Ashfur ran (idk for sure, it’s been forever since I read the book), and Squirrelflight had took the three kits out of the fire. All the three kits were mad, Especially Hollyleaf. When Ashfur told Squirrelflight that he was going to tell everyone at a gathering of all the clans, Hollyleaf killed him on his way to the gathering. But, she was still very mad at Squirrelflight and Leafpool, that she was going to tell everyone at the gathering anyway. At the gathering, where Brambleclaw heard the news, he also got mad at Squirrelflight, and they were no longer mates (They went back to being mates after a while, yay!). After the gathering, Hollyleaf went into an underground tunnel, with no way in or out except for one hole. When she went in, the entrance collapsed with rocks, so now there was absolutely no way out, and Lionblaze and Jayfeather presumed their sister was dead (but they were wrong...).
So legit before I started reading warrior cats I thought Ashfur was an angry she-cat especially right here 4:34 lol

Leafpool had kits with Crowfeather, but that’s not allowed. SquirrelFlight did actually have a litter but they were all still born. Leafpool was telling SquirrelFlight that she’s pregnant so SquirrelFlight can take LeafPools litter as her own.
@@evilrach0108 that explains my confusion on how the sisters got away with it. I didn't know Squirrelflight had kits too, I was always confused on how they pulled that off. Still kinda confused on how Leafpool hid the fact she was pregnant with kits tho, wouldn't they notice her stomach?
@@evilrach0108 Squirrelflight didn't had own kits at that time, just later in VOS (season 6). Squirrelflight didn't had milk (cause she didn't had kits on her own) and everyone thought this was just a problem of Squilf, that she couldnt give milk and so Daisy gave them milk cause she had kits at that time. Brambles and Squilfs kits (Alderheart, Sparkpelt, Dandelionkit and Juniperkit) were born between Season 4 and 6.
