I worked in a record store in Manchester during the house revolution. Spin-Inn records. I always remember when Adonis "no way back "came in from our New York suppliers along with Joyce Simms "all n all"in the same shipment...changed Manchester club scene overnight..Hacienda
After hearing any tracks that caught my ear on the House Hour with Stu Allen on Key 103 back in the late '80s, Spin Inn was exactly the place I'd head the following weekend 😀Those days were magical.
@@kengrogan3736 House Music all life long, great selection- was a party with 'AtJazz' as main D.J recently, he was mixing 'No Way Back' into 'Little Lies'.....STILL sounded amazing. Unbelievable to find 'The' Kenny on TH-cam, at 16 we recorded Stu Allan on tapes from our bedrooms at night in Blackpool- sometimes radio signal from Picaddilly (key103) was dodgy, but hearing those tunes! rare, imports, obscure GOD we loved it- and now its all here on TH-cam. Went to Spin Inn in the Arndale bought vinyl didnt have the front to stand about in there- RIP Stu. 🙏
Glad to hear that you still remember those days as magical Jason....it was a beautiful periodic transformative era and sad to hear of Stu passing at no age at all...have a great new year Jason
I’ve got these tunes in fact the house sound of Chicago was the first house music record I ever bought in 1986-7 and I used to put my headphones on smoke and spliff and just get deep into the music.Thats when I realised house music was gonna take over the whole world and I’ve prized those early songs ever since over all my 5000 records, and by the way fxxking great mixing!! Old school original house music still sounds great and still smashing it
you couldn't imagine growing up at 7-8-9 years old 1.5 miles from the Warehouse Nightclub on the west side of Chicago. I watched the guys get ready for the club practicing their dance moves from bootleg tapes in their boom boxes. meaning like almost every weekend. In the summer she would let me watch and listen from the screen window in the living room. I was hooked. Later going to the Warehouse in my 20's was spiritual.
Some day this will be the music of the Promised Land… I was there in the 1980s when this all began. I will have to fish out my 12’s and dust them off. This is when Chicago House music had a feeling… GREAT MIX, MAESTRO✌🏽
Those Paradise Garage days were the bomb. I miss those days. Unfortunately, like the song says, time marches on. I truly miss you Larry. He was a very good friend and an awesome teacher when it came to the music industry. 😢
Funny how in the US this wonderful music was largely ignored by the masses but in Britain it was an instant love affair. I guess a copious supply of E helped.
I get what you are saying, but growing up in Chicago house music filled the air. Especially on Friday and Saturday nights. So many car stereos playing mixes from WBMX and WGCI. Not to mention all the clubs. Great time to be in Chicago!!!
@andrewpryce-yp7vu They were held at the small seaside town, the north West of England. Still going today but now on the South coast town of Bognor Regis

It is a very nice mix and a great selection of tracks. I was and still am a DJ ... unfortunately, I don't have 12's any longer however, I do have a Rane 1, and almost all of these are in MP3 format. I'm still in Chicago and continue to mix and teach my son the art of mixing and how to pick the right song. Keep on Spinning!
Love that LARRY poster !!!! I've been to the Paradise Garage just ONCE (July of 87) b4 it closed that September , and i most likely would've gone MORE, had i known it was 2 month before it was to close FOREVER !!!
What an absolute banger to play out on - I love that Joe Smooth tune ! Thanks for all the brilliant sets this year Bertrand! Have a great Christmas! Bonnes Fêtes ! 🙏🙏

I just took mdma by accident for the first time in 20years. I cannot believe what is had done for my mood and mental health. No wonder we were all so nice back then..the stuff really is the opposite of meth..which is what I thought it was.

You all so right! I always love LNR " WORK IT TO THE BONE" . But I remembered it was remixed by someone a few years later. There was always a part of the track that the speed used to pitched down then pitched back up again! Loved both mixes! Great Mixing of the tracks!
