Absolutely fascinating video. Thank you. You should have titled this “ Tronxy XY-2 PRO-3D Printer -Unbox and SETUP for Dummies”. Tronxy should use this as an instructional video. By the way the new title I suggested is meant to be a compliment, for a step-by-step Setup instructions for a total beginner. It will be fascinating to prepare a part 2 for this video, which will a ) show an accelerated video of the dinosaur ( it has a flexible body, question:How?), b) addressing the noise problem, if you have addressed it c) the printing of a multicolored prototype, if that is possible. 👍

Those lines and texture your seeing are from the drivers. Hopefully they are removable. Would be nice to upgrade to 2208 drivers. Would make it extremely quiet aswell. Doesn't scare me away at all. I'm literally going to order this as we speak

I've had this thing for three weeks now and I'm just going nuts making things. I've been into 3D modeling and animation for about 20 years now and being able to model something, and hit print to make it for real is just blowing my mind. Wow what I could have done with one of these in the 80's when I was a teenager! Anyway, the only issue I've had with it is I used the included micro SD card that came with it and removed it from the machine and corrupted it. Had to format it to use it again. Having said that, I've lost the Tronxy program on the card and want to also install it on my laptop and now I can't. Does anyone know where to get a copy of the tronxy slicer program? I've sent them an email two weeks ago, no reply. Also, since I'm using this thing daily now, I can answer a LOT of the questions anyone has about it. Maybe even make my own youtube video? I'm very impressed that any OBJ file even stuff designed with auto cad 25 years ago loads right in and prints with no issues. I've got a 4 inch tall R2-D2 bobble head for the computer room like I always wanted. Regular acrylic paints from hobby lobby work on PLA just fine.

    • @yourtubernoob

I'm sure you've acquired the program since this was over 4 months ago that you asked about it. But I Can upload it to a google drive folder for anyone who needs it to download and backup the program for themselves if need be.. Just let me know and I'll go and do it right away!!

Hold on, so that plastic glass looking thing is a backing for the bed sticker thing? Might be a stupid question, but I want to be sure.

    Great video as always!
I have a question/petition. Could you tell me/us the model of the board? And on which pins the inductive probe is connected?
I have a standard xy 2, I printed a filament sensor case from thingiverse and connected it to the board and, well, it didn't worked, but I uploaded the pro firmware and it worked. And after that now I also have the button for automatic bed leveling, but before buying a probe I would like to know if my board have the pins.
Keep up with this format, it maybe kinda for dummies, but I really enjoy it!
    Edit: one more question:
Are you planing to install smothers and make a video showing if it solves the issues??
    Edit 2:
Also, if there's any information printed in the sensor itself.
    Thanks!

  • @Addixxtion
    @Addixxtion 3 ปีที่แล้ว

So, I've had this printer for a couple of days and have yet to have anything print on it! The bed is nothing like the one shown in this video, mine is in 2 pieces, the top level is very floppy and as a result it doesn't sit flat on the bed it bows in the middle even though it's clamped down. It levelled it all manually and then the auto mode, the first print the hot end ran in to the plastic bed mat and melted a circle in to it! So, the middle is useless now, great. I'm going to spend a couple of hours stripping it down and start again but if that fails it will be sent back, so disappointed as this is my first 3D printer and it's definitely not as easy as this video makes out, may be that's because you're an old hand with 3D printers but noobs will be left frustrated. My Tonxy is an upgraded version of this one with a Titan extruder but certainly the bed mat is a cheaper version, I may look to buy a magnetic mat to do away with the cheap clips. I've not given up yet, just my initial thoughts, wish me luck lol

I think the tiki print is supposed to be that way...when you look at a "real" one, it's not all smooth, it's made out of coconut shells or something like that and isn't "refined" like other kinds of figurines, it's neat that this low priced printer will do that on purpose. I've been looking for a good quality, low priced printer as my first, and I really think this is the way to go. I know it's a "basic" printer, but it's a nice enough printer for me to find out if I will like it or not, and it won't break the bank.

The Z screw looks to be an Acme 1-start rod. Compared to my ancient 802M which has at least 3 starts, maybe 4, yours will move one third to one quarter as much per rotation but have 3-4 times the precision. And let's face it, the Z axis isn't going to be moving at any great speed to begin with.

HELP. Tried to make the elephant and the rook but both of them got to about the sand height and the printer head started to touch the model and just push it around. I'm lost.

Sometimes the model will release from the base. That's any 3D printer. When I'm doing a bigger model, I do not put the pad on the base and left that light blue plastic on the bed as well. Clean the plastic really good with a glass cleaner to make sure it leaves no residue. Do not use any cleaner on the print surface that leaves any kind of residue. I had some cleaner for computer screens and it made the surface slick and the models would break loose and slide around. Triple check for level. Super clean the print bed. Try again.

@@novaknight402 I was also looking into the Tronxy XY-3, know anything about that? The new Anet actually seems very good, they seemed to have ironed out all the problems the original had and based on the prints I've seen online that it might be printing quite high quality.
