The measurements of the strands for my necklaces :
1. Red Black Necklace ( Necklace Length 21" ) with single dori ( dori length 42" ) :
Take ten strands of red and tend strands of black thread each strand of 280"
2. Red Yellow Necklace ( Necklace Length 22.5" ) with double dori ( each dori length 22.5" ) :
For one single dori take ten strands of red and ten strands of yellow thread each strand of 150" and repeat this for the another one
3. Hippie Boho Necklace ( Necklace Length 22" ) with double dori ( each dori length 22" ) :
For one single dori take ten strands of whatever color of thread you want each strand of 295" and repeat this for the other one
P.S - Please measure the strand length as per your desired length of necklace or see if you are ok with the above necklace lengths.

Yes it's cotton thread no specific term atleast I don't know if there any but what I can tell you they are sold as ball size & also as per weight like wools are sold & this cotton thread is mainly use for katha stitch work
