There is always hope. Look around, yes, I am not from SK, but I've seen drastic changes here in the US in my lifetime (that's 54 years), and I believe we might see changes everywhere. Maybe it will take such a "power couple" to help changes come around. I've been wondering at some of the things I have seen watching videos all week, is SK is as hard as I've heard on such relationships, I would have thought there would have already been something drastic done (please forgive if I am wrong, like I said, I'm not from that culture), but... I would say please don't overly worry and hopefully what I share here will help ease your mind...these two are paving the way for others and they know it, hence the slowly slowly approach...just recall... # they were the only two that were hugged by their PRIME MINISTER and the first lady when a few bands/groups met PM on stage once (th-cam.com/video/golo1bGuQjA/w-d-xo.html); # at the First South Korea's Youth Day presentation last year where BTS were special guests, the PMs speech was very interesting, pushing forward for diversity and hearing the voices of the younger generation in Korea, talking about his administration working towards fairness and justice, and a egalitarian society (Full show: th-cam.com/video/9zBoDn0Zzes/w-d-xo.html); # in fact, in line with that, SK is not as backward as we have all been conditioned to think, it's actually becoming more and more diverse and moving forwards at a rapid rate as the younger generations speak out more and more. Remember that SK is an aging country - in 2017 over 14% of it's population was over 65 and by 2026 this is predicted to be over 20% (otherwise known as a super-aged society). # This rapid-aging actually helps, because it's the younger gens that are more openly accepting, with a 2010 study showing those in their 20's sat at roughly 30% acceptance and those in their 30's at 20%, but four years later, both figures had more than doubled. ANY country will welcome them with open arms, they would be a massive boost for economy and tourism wherever they decided to settle and (keeping in mind the economy stuff from up above) SK government knows this, it would behoove them to be supportive, at least outwardly. On top of that, SK government would also likely face worldwide criticism and backlash - I mean, just think how many International companies have used TK in their branding or have openly come out as TK supporters - the list is massive. They also have a lot of public support from some VERY well known 'celebrities'. Settle your mind, these two have this on lock, they're working on changing minds and hearts. Then, if you want to, go back to the Festa and watch...it's supposed to be their slogan for the first time they see ARMY again but at 38:55 when Tae speaks the lines 'Our lives will only be filled with happy moments from today', look to where Taes eyes are looking, because it sure ain't at Joonie and there's only one other member he can see at that angle...who coincidentally shows up moments later looking just a little flustered ;). There is always hope. Look around, yes, I am not from SK, but I've seen drastic changes here in the US in my lifetime (that's 54 years), and I believe we might see changes everywhere. Maybe it will take such a "power couple" to help changes come around. ANY country will welcome them with open arms, they would be a massive boost for economy and tourism wherever they decided to settle and (keeping in mind the economy stuff from up above) SK government knows this, it would behoove them to be supportive, at least outwardly. On top of that, SK government would also likely face worldwide criticism and backlash - I mean, just think how many International companies have used TK in their branding or have openly come out as TK supporters - the list is massive. They also have a lot of public support from some VERY well known 'celebrities'. Settle your mind, these two have this on lock, they're working on changing minds and hearts.
Then, if you want to, go back to the Festa and watch...it's supposed to be their slogan for the first time they see ARMY again but at 38:55 when Tae speaks the lines 'Our lives will only be filled with happy moments from today', look to where Taes eyes are looking, because it sure ain't at Joonie and there's only one other member he can see at that angle...who coincidentally shows up moments later looking just a little flustered ;).
