I actually can't think of a trap card that negates the activation that isn't a counter trap. Oppression only negates the effect, not the activation, similar to starlight road.
I’m glad to see reputable documentation on the MBAAS in damage step specifically. I got that ruled against me in Orlando last year. Cost me an important match. I knew I was right but in the heat of the moment I didn’t debate too much just ran with it, though one of the first lines of text mentioned for the card on individual card rulings is that it cannot activate in damage step. No biggie, still had a blast. Now we have a great video to reference if anybody wants to question how ab zero works as well. Love the content as always.
Interesting. At rosemont regional the judges rules. “If AZ is facedown and sent to the extra deck it won’t trigger” every other situation of being face down will trigger it.
You also have to take into account that the edison website just chose a ruling to use. Sometimes rulings from the time would change from event to event. Hell it still happens today with S:P and Tactics. Ultimately, the answer is always "Ask your head judge". At YCS side events, I've chosen to not play decks like quickdraw bc the head judge said quickdraw was a inherent/built in summon. It's just a part of yugioh at this point.
Last one reminds me of my favorite deck as a kid in the old DS games: would just be Light and Darkness Dragon Turbo with 3 Interdimensional Matter Transporters to reset the negates when it got to 400
Yeah it makes no sense. We know cards flip up during battle, thus Survivor is face up and its trigger should be met, just like Absolute Zero. Also if Survivor gets Bottomlessed when it comes back during the end phase it doesn't come back till next end phase for literally no apparent reason besides BKSS
One other ruling to be mentioned is. If Ab Zero is flipped face down and later a player attempts to flip summon it and the summon is negated by solemn judgment. Its not considered on the field and its effect wont activate to destroy all oppo monsters.
Whoa, just to clarify, if you Compulsory Zero back to the Extra, then chain Starlight Road to it's effect activation, it will negate AND destroy it from the ED, and send it to the GY and allow you to summon Stardust?? That's crazy.

Is stardust not able to negate the effect of Absolute because its already in the graveyard from the tribute? Im not sure if i quite understand. Is there a scenario that stardust can negate absolute?
Stardust must respond directly to the effect it is trying to negate. The chain in that scenario is AB0 CL1 and Caius CL2. You can't make stardust CL3 bc it's not directly negating ab0 so stardust misses the window to activate.
So in the first ruling tributing Zero for Caius. My understanding is because you have 2 mandatory effects triggering simultaneously, the player chooses the order of the Chain Links. You choose to go Caius 1, Zero 2 or Zero 1, Caius 2

There’s a ruling with Gladiator Beast Darius that I want to confirm if it true or not. If so maybe you can do a video on it. 😅 SM Darius from deck by an effect of another GB, Darius CL1 targeting a Gyzarus from the GY, Book of Moon the Darius as CL2, Gyzarus is then SM and gets his effect because Darius is no longer face up on the field to negate Gyzarus.

You cannot activate starlight road here, you can negate with stardust dragon itself. This is specific to how they are both worded and the properties of how stratos starts to apply this effect when summoned.

yeah, there are too many event judges that do not know edison rulings unfortunately. Idk why they just dont look it up

The funny thing about 6:00 is how DD survivor doesn’t work that way if it dies by battle. That’s one of the weirdest BKSS of all time.

In Edison, the monster that goes to the gy is CL 1. The most common scenario is tributing sangan/goblin zombie for caius. Sangan/goblin zombie is CL 1
