Ah, man. I remember back in 2014(-15) when I was consumed by League and closed beta of HotS just came out, I shat on it so hard. "A MOBA with team EXP, no farm, no creep last hit, no items?" I said, I'd fight anyone and everyone on why the game was bad. The pure ignorance.... It took about 7 more years in order to revisit HotS, give it a proper chance and man oh man how have the turned tables. It's one of the best and creative games out there, the hero and map design, the talents, all these different objectives, you are not stuck for the next 20 minutes to your lane competing in last hitting the shit out of AI mobs while trying to not get ganked and feed. Trying to stomach the amount of stress that comes with 30-45 minute games in LoL. While HotS is a god sent for us damaged League players, honestly, it's a retirement game for League vets who are done with it. I hope I can play with you Grubby, some day, HotS is da best.
There he is, one of my favorite MoBA characters of all time, and probably the most stressful one to play. When people talk about skill expression in a moba chracter it's always about having crazy mobility and complex combos, but sometimes you just need to take the barest basics of moba movement and put it on 3 super squishy bodies you have to control all at the same time.
He tried to emulate meepo in a game that doesn't inherently support rts controls and turned out to be close enough. Samuro as well, with the illusion hero mechanics. Hots devs definitely were big chads
The crazy thing about HOTS's weird ass heroes, is that they're actually pretty well balanced. League had to rework ryze like 5 times and he's still either too OP or worthless -- no inbetween. Meanwhile not sharing items and having talents makes it so heroes are much easier to balance, regardless of how weird they are
Love Lost Vikings; was always one of my favorites to play. People underestimated them so much; not just for their macro control but for their team fight potential. They're a late game hero for it but at level 16 once you have Spin to Win and Large and In Charge the Vikings together can annihilate any Damage character one on one. It's remarkably easy to run in the back, stun a backliner, spin to win them down then leap to safety.
It also helps that people really disrespect the vikings. Most of the time in a teamfight people see the vikings and go "Oh, they're *helping*", before getting stunned by olaf and one-shotted.
yay HotS; yay The Lost Vikings!!!! I've been Aba maining for a while, but this vid has me turning toward TLV again.... it's like having 3 hatted things to control!
I laugh a little watching your videos. I came to HOTS from DOTA2. I had been playing DOTA since WC3:RoC so I'm familiar with the heroes. Listening to you draw the lines to HOTS from DOTA is exactly what I did going the other way from DOTA to HOTS. Since alpha, I have ALWAYS called Stitches by Pudge.
The main advantage, sometimes the only advantage, that Vikings have, is that they're 3 bodies. If you move them as one, they're one bad hero who takes triple AoE damage. Might as well play an actual hero. They can do what no other hero can do: Be in three places at once.
@@onkelpappkov2666 i get that but those three places need not necessarily be many screens apart. If you're not soaking xp because someone else is already there you could have two more bodies to flank and scout your lane and you get to concentrate on one thing... Is my line of thinking. Never played them so no idea.

LoL is such trash. Games are meant to be fun. HoTs has it nailed.

hots has such unique hero designs
and it is all thanks to the xp sistem
@@norkester444its all thanks to designing heroes based on existing characters.

Zeratul may be a bit like Faceless Void, but he's more like Wc3 Warden aoe, blink, single target damage, cloaking
TLV are one of the weirdos that make HotS great.

Is it actually recommended to have them split up? I feel like unless you want to hardforce mid you'd still rather have them together.
