Figgy time! If you don't have room for a huge fig tree try Little Miss Figgy plant. You can grow it in a pot on the patio, and the figs are fab!

Made this bread yesterday! It was wonderful. I will make it again and again. Loved the sugar in the bottom of the pan. Thank you for this great recipe!

I transcribed the recipe for those who needed it:
    2 cups AP Flour
1 cup Sugar + 3 tbsp for the pan
    1 tsp vanilla
1 stick butter (1/2 cup) + more later to butter the pan
    2 large eggs
    1 1/2 tsp baking soda
    1/2 tsp salt
    ~1 cup of figs, diced
    PREHEAT OVEN TO 350 F
    1. Cream butter in a stand mixer. Whisk together eggs and vanilla extract in a separate bowl and set aside.
    2. Beat sugar into butter. Once combined, add the egg mixture.
    3. Whisk together dry ingredients (flour, baking soda, salt) then add to the batter and mix.
    4. Once batter is even, take the bowl out of the stand mixer and fold the figs into the batter.
    5. Butter a 9x5 bread pan and sprinkle the 3 tbsp of sugar on the bottom of the pan, shaking it to evenly spread the sugar.
    6. Pour the batter in the pan, then bake at 350 for 1 hour and 15 minutes, it should be ready once a toothpick comes out clean from the bread.

neighbours gave me some ripe/overripe figs. I had a couple but realised they were gonna go bad before I could eat them all. This recipe looks easier and uses all the ingredients I have. I'll edit this comment to tell y'all how it turns out.

It's a quick way to use figs. But I'd call it a loaf and not a bread because it doesn't contain yeast or sourdough. I dehydrate dried figs and add some spices - fennel seed is spectacular, and so are warm spices like cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, allspice, ginger.

I like it w/ Whole Wheat flour, Small Whole Figs and Whole Roasted Wanut Halves, Norhing Sweet in the Bread.
Great with Feta, Greuyer, Italian Ham
    Or
Just with Butter & a Very Thin bit of Fresh Fig Jam & Paybe a Bit of Greek Yogurt, Fresh Paneer or Cream Cheese mixed with Honey, Orange Zest & Cardamom, Star Anice Spread, made to taste in food processor.
    Lots of other variations too...
    😊

Is AP flour what we call plain flour in Aus? And what weight is a stick of butter? (We only have 500grammes and 250grammes)

+moiz zulfiqar I wish I could figure out why my channel is growing slowly. I try to promote on different websites and social media sites along with posting videos on a set schedule. I just can’t seem to find my audience or the trick to growth. I’ve been posting videos for 2 years and have grown but it’s been very slow. Any suggestions or assistance would be appreciated

I’d love to make this bread but you don’t have measurements for flour and butter? Maybe have written ingredients would be a good idea.

@@kimdenardo1076 I think you might be confused about the amount of butter in the recipe. He said 1 stick of butter which equals 1/2 cup of butter. This happens to be the standard measurement in America.
