If I'm testing using a Traffic Campaign, and I then move high performing creatives into a Sales Campaign, aren't they two totally different types of traffic that might not necessarily be compatible with each other?
From our experience it doesn't matter. You're not always going to pull winners from the traffic test and have them perform on a conversion campaign but we see a lot of success using this testing methodology. And the tests are much cheaper than running a conversion campaign to test. So you can run so many more tests on small budget.
@@brandarrow. Any idea how to start with it? I never know should I start first with the creative, or first with the audience. Maybe going broad with creative testing and once it responds well, then go a find the right audience pocket for it?
Maybe you have a clever approach to this issue. It's a bit like what was first, the egg or the chicken. Trying to find the right audience around a creative, or better try to find a good creative that performs broad already well.
@@fotodino3358 if you're just starting out you can test audience with what we call a dog whistle. Create an ad with just text calling out your ideal audience and the solution you provide. Be as clear as can be. Example "Dog Owners! We're a mobile dog grooming service that comes to your door to groom your dog so you can get more done" Now run this ad creative with some copy to go with it. Again be as clear as can be. Now use that to test to see what audience responds best to that ad. You can also test a few variants of the ad to see which one works best.
@@fotodino3358 also keep in mind that the Meta algorithm is getting pretty good at finding your ideal audience. So you can usually go pretty broad with your audience. But we always test more narrow audiences to see if we can find one that can outperform the broad ones.
So if I dupplicate the ads, I have to pay for each one, right? Or is the algorithm distributing the budget to the best performing creative with the ad budget we have set up in the ad group (e.g. 30 Dollar Ad budget?)
Whoops- I set the ad set to shut off after 500 impressions rather than the ads within that set! Changed now but since recording this video I think the options have changed in the rules setting. Only had the option to select ‘all ads’
No, I disregard it during the testing phase. I don't pay too much attention to the learning stage. I pay attention to the results and if the ad is performing then we're good to go!
As much as your budget allows. I like to test fast so if we need to spend $1,000 a day to run tests we'll do it. But if you're just starting out, $50/day or less should be enough.
Do you have any resources you recommend to get as content from? That isn’t billo, adsoffbands or platforms that cost a lot? For testing you run through creatives and I’m curious to see if there is a more cost efficient way of grabbing content and it be conversion worthy
@@XDayDreamAwayX Start by researching your competitors to see what ads they're running. Facebook Ads Library shows you all active ads so you can "spy" on them. Another great resource is the TikTok ads library as well. They also show you best performing based on metrics.

super useful! Thanks for putting this together

@@brandarrow. Appreciate your taking the time to reply. Thanks.
@@IsaacBirchall you're welcome. Wishing you the best while testing!
What if the ads were pretty good, but you just used the wrong audience on the adset? Or am I overseeing something?
You can do some testing to find your ideal audience.

Thanks Kevin. Do you have any video on testing copy?
I don't have an extensive one but I can create one to help with writing copy.
Brilliant! Starting testing now!
Right on! Happy testing!

Hey Kevin! Thank you! Don't you take into account the learning stage which needs 50 conversions during 1 week as recommended by Facebook?

Is it OK to have 5usd on every video/image you test? Great video!
Yes! Just be sure to shut down the video after you get enough impressions.
should i put it in cbo or abo?
ABO so you can control the budget on each test. Once you find winners you can put them into a CBO campaign.

Appreciate you!
Do you test ad copy by itself or with your winning ad images?
Both. Start by itself, then start testing with creatives.
@@brandarrow. so just test copy by itself no images at all?
I can't seem to test ad copy alone without uploading an image.
@@leroywilliams5237 You can add ad copy to an image ;)
