I tried to mix it up every now and then to keep it interesting. I also wanted to try some low poly-3d after working on simmular models for other projects.
When you think about it, the line "It's getting hard to breathe" is much more horrifying when you remember that Cabinet Man's lungs process change. He is literally dying from a lack of players.
I realised that while I was animating. It is a realy tragic song with the man dissapearing and people thinking he was dead, him eating metanance men. And him taking a crowbar to his face.
Imagine how the robber felt like when he noticed there was someone inside the machine all along. I read a theory in the comment section of the song that the robber was one of the kids that went crazy with the game and they came to destroy the machine for their vengeance.

I think everyone diving into fanmade projects- to a degree- feels that way. I was OVERJOYED. Any plans I had to give it a crack went out the window. I adored the design of the Cabinet Man, I loved the mixed media, I even loved that you didnt have to make it particularly gory or include any shock factor and -that- matched the tone of the song. Rewatching this, and I feel absolutely ASHAMED that I didn't say anything about the animation when I commented the first time. The truth is, this was my first time even hearing the song, and I was so absorbed in how freaking jovial it was for a song about murder and gore, that I got distracted from the visuals. How have I not seen this in the 4 years it's been out? 🤯 Idek where to start w how much I love this animation, it's a true work of art!! I'd be here all night if I were to heap praise on the sheer artistic & technical skill involved in this masterpiece, so I'm going to focus on one tiny bit. My favourite creative choice by far is at the moment where he grabs & devours the vandal. The switch in styles from clear pixelly colours to a scratchy black scrawl to a white chalk/tape outline is INCREDIBLE. It conveys mood, tone, & events so clearly without us ever needing to actually "see" a murder (not that there would be anything wrong with that - I'm just impressed at how well you pulled it off without showing it). A lot of interpretations of this song assume that Cabinet Man kills the vandals but i don't think he has the power to do so. Think of the fact he breathes change, which we know from the lungs line and how the vandals took what few quarters he had. It's basically saying he killed them while suffocating. Which is possibly but for sure more of an uphill battle. Amazing animation btw. The pixel art fits the song perfectly and the slight changes in art style during the end and the police chalk drawing are great. I really like how the police chalk isn't pixel cause well, the game is over there

I feel bad for the cabinet man honestly he’s stuck in a game and he chooses to not get out as he feels like he is happy in there his family misses him and believes he’s dead but no according to 4:00 he dancing he grooving But to no music he has nothing to hide the pain because there’s no children to play him He looks like a nerd who would want to know what it feels to be a game his favorite thing to pass time but now home boy stuck.
While I personally wasn't the biggest fan of the pixelated art style, I really enjoyed the use of several different types and styles of animation used. Overall, this was a really well made production!

Thank you! It was fun putting all of them in the animation. Those arcades are all hybrids of a "modern" game and a classic arcade game. The drawings on them depict the new game, but are hevily based on the art of the old arcades. The names are mostly synonyms for the names of the newer games.

How have I not seen this in the 4 years it's been out? 🤯 Idek where to start w how much I love this animation, it's a true work of art!!
I'd be here all night if I were to heap praise on the sheer artistic & technical skill involved in this masterpiece, so I'm going to focus on one tiny bit. My favourite creative choice by far is at the moment where he grabs & devours the vandal. The switch in styles from clear pixelly colours to a scratchy black scrawl to a white chalk/tape outline is INCREDIBLE. It conveys mood, tone, & events so clearly without us ever needing to actually "see" a murder (not that there would be anything wrong with that - I'm just impressed at how well you pulled it off without showing it).
Again, kudos & congratulations. I'll be off to binge yr channel now 💙

A lot of interpretations of this song assume that Cabinet Man kills the vandals but i don't think he has the power to do so. Think of the fact he breathes change, which we know from the lungs line and how the vandals took what few quarters he had. It's basically saying he killed them while suffocating. Which is possibly but for sure more of an uphill battle. Amazing animation btw. The pixel art fits the song perfectly and the slight changes in art style during the end and the police chalk drawing are great. I really like how the police chalk isn't pixel cause well, the game is over there
Yeas, that's also a good interpretation. I added him killing the vandal, sice he sings the refrain again, wich says he can't be beat. So if he can't win, there can only be a draw, both dying.

I feel bad for the cabinet man honestly he’s stuck in a game and he chooses to not get out as he feels like he is happy in there his family misses him and believes he’s dead but no according to 4:00 he dancing he grooving
But to no music he has nothing to hide the pain because there’s no children to play him
He looks like a nerd who would want to know what it feels to be a game his favorite thing to pass time but now home boy stuck.

While I personally wasn't the biggest fan of the pixelated art style, I really enjoyed the use of several different types and styles of animation used. Overall, this was a really well made production!

Thank you! It was fun putting all of them in the animation. Those arcades are all hybrids of a "modern" game and a classic arcade game.
The drawings on them depict the new game, but are hevily based on the art of the old arcades. The names are mostly synonyms for the names of the newer games.
