Sad when you think of people selling up from London and the south east to go and buy hamlets and châteaux abroad to run as wedding venues or holiday lets. Yet we have grand places here which are just left to rot or they get turned into flats or carehomes.
Action could include selling it to a private developer with planning permission to convert but still retain public ownership of the grounds and use the money for affordable homes or social housing
There have been several attempts to sell this but its no longer financially viable. Lots of "somebody must do something" as usual but no one coming up with the actual money.
Let it rot. No more public funds for monuments to royalist/capitalist oppression . There's a housing crisis in the UK and this property could be used to build affordable homes for people the need it.

Torbay counsel is useless , it’s ruined most of the historic and beautiful buildings parks in the bay
