Story : Iqbal, a boy hard of hearing and without speech, dreams of playing in the Indian cricket team. When his condition hinders his selection, he asks a retired coach to train him.
During the promotions of this movie, Media speculated that Iqbal was partially inspired by the story of Irfan Pathan. That generated lots of curosity in public, as Irfan pathan was new sensation in the cricket back then. Iqbal was released on August 2005 while, Irfan Pathan debuted in tests in Decemeber 2003 and subsequently in ODIs in Jan 2004. Cast and crew remained tight lipped about the story and this added more fuel to the fire. Ofcourse, now we know that all those reports were wrong as Iqbal is not biographical movie, but yes, one can see the inspiration drawn from Irfan's life and some resemblance.
This was a spectacular cinema... Still love watching these clips.. These type of films are cult classics ❤❤

Too much risk he has taken with his side’s fielding brilliance being huge factor in the wicket.
Smarter idea would have been to get the batter off strike by giving him an easy single and beat the no. 11 batter.

Shreyas Talpade bahut underrated actor hai
Goose bumps I miss those glory days once I bowled 2 full tosses in a row as a off spinner and they both got dispatched for boundaries then I bowled a finger leg spin while bent the shoulders down to reduce the flight just a touch and ball landed on the pitch and bounced and came back in like a topspinner a batman tried to go back on back foot and hit it but gave a jumping catch in the same covers position where iqbal got a wicket a perfect trap ❤
Last scene really gives lot of goosebumps and emotions 😢

They should've let him release the ball and get the wickets on the first ball by shattering the stumps. Great movie it brings back the memories of my past growing up in pakistan even Gali guys were not giving me chance to play even though I was a good spinner then I came to Houston and made it to the final 11 out of the 44 guys representing Elsik high-school 11 and went for a practice with big league boys in nets impressed the captain with off spins doosras and leg breaks and he tried me in a match against the will of the other teammates that he is still young and unpolished but went in the match with calm nerves and in 8 overs gave 26 runs for 3 wickets and restricted the team to just 126 in a 40 over match and we won it then I never looked back and in 7 matches I had 19 wickets and was the best bowler for Houston tiger in 2003 best bowler again in 2005 and a winter league championship even most dedicated player award for arranging tournaments but in the end dirty politics and some bad luck derailed my career to make it for team usa

here's a thought - if iqbal is unable to communicate with his captain, how did he communicate the chakruvuh tactic to his captain? Since the captain is unable to understand his sign language, how did the captain know what the meaning of that rolling of the finger meant? Even if the captain knew the meaning of chakravuy, it took a super-man effort for the captain to catch that ball, he had to run and dive so far, it was so risky and may be if you dont think about it, it was all genius.

The sad thing is , it’s true even now. We have had king taking place of God and Mumbai ka don Rohit, prince of cricket Gill but no replacement for Bumrah. Arshdeep is good but there is a vaccum of good fast bowlers in India and we aren’t grooming enough. I mean we saw this t20 World Cup how bowlers brought India the T20 wc. If only we were as aggressive in making another Bumrah. Zak , Bhuvi, we would be the most feared and dominating side just like 2000’s Aussies

The idea is make the batsman's muscle memory to react to a particular length of the ball the same way, irrespective of the pace. The idea is not do something extra, like swinging, yorkers and other variations. It like you have to bowl the according to fielders. Therefore most of the time when you are trained you have practice bowling by putting a coin at the place where you want the ball to land to. Currently the most accurate bowler who bowls like this is Bumrah
For being a bowler you always don't need pace. You need accuracy and line and length and bowling according to the field.
Rest of things like swing, yorkers and other things comes naturally.
