Today is CE- 423 exam.
I though force and acceleration are at the same direction.
Inertial force is equal to applied force, yeah the direction of acceleration of mass is the same with the inertial force, but the direction of applied force (P) is countered by the inertial force (mu..)
P.S. see D' Alembert's theory
