- New Balance Fuelcell Elite v4 review - first run & first impressions running Falmouth Half Marathon. At the channel we always pride ourselves on testing out all the kit and shoes we review as thoroughly as possible. So when I got sent the latest carbon plated race shoe from New Balance, the FuelCell Elite v4, I thought it was only fair that we tested it out in a race environment. We headed off to Falmouth and I laced up the Elite v4's and took them for a run around the challenging Falmouth half marathon route.

I enjoyed that one Loyd, something different. That price is well spicy! Interesting about the heel rub, Ben Parkes experienced the same on the V4s but you didn't. We are definitely all different!

Fab video as per usual. Those shoes look pretty good - though last time I tried on a pair of NB, they were too narrow in the toe for me.

the heels on the elite 4 dug into my heels and ripped them open , had to sell them on . Pretty gutted as i had all previous versions and was my go to race shoe . strange as i have the rebel 4 , and have no issues with them, the Rebels are fantastic
Same here Andy! like I said in the video, I’ve had no issues with the heel on the Rebel v4 either? 🤷♂️

I now have watched three reviewers talk about heel rub (or worse) involving NB new shoes. Rebel v4 and Elite v4.
I’ve seen that, funnily enough I didn’t have any heel rub in the Rebel V4? 🤔
@Run4Adventure yes I saw many other reviewers with no issues at all. Today though Ben Parkes and you both mention it in your videos. That was striking!
It’s ok as a training shoe (but who spends over £250 on a training shoe) as it’s way too heavy for me as marathon race day and lacks punch 🤦♂️ I do however think this can work for someone looking for something a tad more stable than a zoomx shoe. Interesting vid thanks for putting together your thoughts
Decent Loyd, decent I've seen some other reviews, sorry 🙃, that says price wise the rebel v4 is the better shoe here. What's your opinion on that one?
I would definitely go for the Rebel V4, obviously the Rebel is a training shoe and not a carbon plated racer. I think the Rebel is a much more versatile running shoe that can pretty much be used for anything, including racing 👍🙂

200 plus dollars. For everyday use? I'll buy the Rebel and save me 50 bucks .. towards another Rebel.
