Maja Sagar Lake | Bathrait Lake | Darail Valley | Gilgit Baltistan /Pakistan

#Maja_Sagar_lake also known as Bathrait Lake in Darail, Bathrait valley of Gilgit Baltistan is an unexplored and hidden alpine gem of Pakistan. One can reach here by adopting various treks from different valleys such as Bathrait valley District Ghizer , Darail Valley, Singal Valley Tangir Valley and Khanbari Valley. This lake is also known as trout heaven. This lake is the abode of rainbow trout and one can find abundance of trout fish here. The whole area around lake is the home of variety of alpine flowers and medicinal herbs. The fauna of this area include brown bear, marmot, pika, eagle, and variety of migratory Siberian ducks and birds.

The trout, if our tourists start going here, will disappear. In the 90s there was good trout fishing in Batraith Nullah which today is not what it used to be. We need to educate and sensitize our tourists.
