I've been following your C++ series not because I'm in a class, or because I somehow made it into a software engineering job without knowing how to program. I'm doing it because it's something I'm really interested in, but one of the issues I run into is that there are so many things to learn and remember that it's hard to come up with something to put it all into practice. The past few videos helped a lot because I've just been remaking a calculator over and over with different code. I learn something new from you, and the first thing I think about is "how and when am I going to use this?" and I just don't know.
Also, I can't install Embarcadero, lol. Installer just makes explorer hang. Visual Studio is fine. But I did sign up through the link they gave you, so I hope they're giving you something for that. I'm waiting till pay day to donate to your Patreon for your work. It's been endlessly helpful.
Well you might never ever use certain aspects of c++ even if you are a c++ developer Jst knowing all the basics adds to your skill list For example the object orientated part is important especially for front end programming when you building gui's Stuff like a deep understanding of pointers, arrays , structs is good for back end programming
thank you so much Caleb! I appreciate people like you who are genuinely kind to help people like me who can't pay for online classes or private lessons but we are willing to learn interesting stuffs in life. Thank you! Take care always and goodluck
One way I try to spread the word is by linking to videos, playlists or channels in comments if they can be considered relevant. For instance, if I was watching a video where someone demonstrates a program they wrote in C++, I might mention that I thought Caleb's videos were great for learning C++ and then share a link to a video or the playlist in a comment.
@@pllama1870 Np. I was really glad when I found that online compiler, as its really helped me to test stuff out quickly. I think you can select other languages as well.
If you're interested in learning Java (or Python) specifically, I'd recommend checking out Professor John Morrison's channel and playlists ( th-cam.com/channels/MxP_bP8whMGN63IpvGFPTQ.htmlplaylists ), and for Python, SQL and many other things, I'd recommend Socratica ( th-cam.com/users/SocraticaStudios ).

the how and when is propably the big mystery about coding. And for me, thats the most fascinating thing about it.

@@graphitic5578 He's using MAC, and your using windows.
What happens if you want the program to output:
hello/nhi
instead of the program automatically making it:
hello
hi
you use two backslashed like instead of:
|| cout
@@kfdjhnhurjnnbjhu3ip410 what if you wanted || in your message as well
@@pllama1870 Test it out and see what you can do ( www.onlinegdb.com/online_c++_compiler ).

what is the purpose of \\
you can google it but its a command, doesn't does anything when you execute
It lets you type a backslash without using it as an escape sequances
Do you still drum?
Need more java and c++ vids 🤩

Caleb, did anyone tell you that you kind of look like Ed Sheeran?
Anyone else thinking of the Piña Colada Song or Finding Nemo? Just me?
