You gon end up messing your back up doing that landing gear like that. Put it in low or have the yard dog to lift it. I just did a tractor supply with 3 stops and I was heavy as hell on the ass end
I just did a TS run in NY never again, it was Ray Brooke and another stop. I always thought NY was city, those parts of NY straight forest two lane road and darkness. There are no truck stops, so if you don’t have enough fuel or get fuel before you go in you’re screwed.
I do a lot of Tractor Supply too, but I'm leaving Schneider in 2 weeks to try something else out. I liked those runs too but they always leave the trailer so dirty
@@cwc8979 It's just time for me to go somewhere else to make better money is what it comes down to. Schneider is probably the best starter company, and I'm glad I went with them. They have the best training and best equipment. You will get all the miles you could ever want, I never have to sit waiting for a load. I've been with them since I started a little over a year and a half ago and don't really have that many bad things to say honestly, for me it's just the pay is too low. I also trained at Wilmer, it's their newest terminal. It depends on your personal situation, maybe you want more money, more home time, work for a carrier that is local in your town, etc. I used to live in the truck full time, but recently moved and now I have to pay rent and bills so I can't keep working these long weeks and not get paid enough to keep me satisfied. Once you get between 1 year and 2 years experience you are more valuable and should be earning a lot more, but most of the time Schneider won't be that company. I suppose if you really wanted to you could stick with them long term, and with the scheduled raises every 6 months (I think) eventually you would be making a lot of money, and working for Schneider is very easy. You pretty much just pickup and deliver to warehouses or distribution centers, and the occasional retail store like Walmart, Tractor Supply, or a grocery store. Very easy places to get experience backing the trailer.
See the 'Yellow' set of doubles at the very start of the video? That's who I worked for (actually, I worked for them when it was called 'YRC' which stands for 'Yellow/Roadway Corporation') driving line-haul for. Line haul with YRC was fun. Out at about 11pm Central, got to Akron, OH or Cleveland, OH or Nashville, TN (or various other places) by morning....sleep all day in a motel...drive out that night and eventually get to my home terminal. Easy. No customers. The only thing that sucked was going to various Chicago-area rail yards to get freight.
I quit variant September 1st. They weren't bad but they weren't great. The company is changing rapidly and are doing things that annoy me. They were bought by swift this year. If i wanted to work for swift i'd apply there
Lesson I learned many years ago, 1 get a cellphone strictly for trucking use. 2 The minute you shutdown for your 10 hours turn that phone off. If they wanna go back n forth then they gonna have to do it while I'm fully rested, on my schedule and getting paid for it. Cellphones battery die out everyday near the end of the shift, especially if you got a problem with the charger charging slow or the trucks outlet....ijs 😉 trust me 💩 works.
I figured you wouldn't stay there long. You got your experience up now, they all have their stuff with them but there's definitely better situations out here despite the industry being rough right now
Yea gotta get endorsements dry freight ass but I did what I want at variant I’d drive two hours in pc & those 12-13 hour drives getting dropped same day 😂
2:44 why is it so hard to bring down the trailer sure you know this but you do realize realize there is a high and a low on it? that hard to move. It looks like you’re are on the wrong gear
You're absolutely gorgeous! Love that you drive also. Come to FedEx, 1 year OTR, Gov background check, doubles endorsement and your making good $$ in linehaul
My dispatch called me as i was doing my pre trip , i was loaded with empty beer kegs , im i ready to roll, i said look at your screen and hung up , grant it , i had ran 1400 miles loaded with full beer kegs,
Idk if any driver in the comments said this already but you gon hurt yourself tryna lower your trailer like that. Put the landing gear in low gear next time. Low gear lowers the trailer safer and faster without you putting that tension on your back
Ima Gve u a tip Do what i do , have 2 phones so when they blow u up u can cutt that shit off lol because them mfs will blow your shit up i just cut the phone off 😅
I’ve been at JB Hunt intermodal for a year now for 13 years I did food service for US food service. I can’t tell you how great of a company and how easy I grows on average 13 to 15 a week and I don’t do shit😂
All truckers need to quit. They just started the autonomous self driving semi and truckers ain't fighting it so they won't have jobs for much longer anyway
Put the landing gear on easy or high gear it takes longer but it wont kill you when trying to lower the trailer
She don't no nuttin

Good coverage and sight of what it is like to drive a trailer

First time visiting your channel good to see a young woman out there making it
Nobody ever showed you how to put the landing gear in low gear so it cranks easier with a load in it??
Yo she gone throw her back out hate to see it.
They don't teach new drivers anything.
