  • Today, the South Western Main Line was closed, yet again, between Clapham Junction and Woking/Effingham Junction/Hampton Court/Kingston (via Wimbledon). Therefore, rail replacement buses were laid on, with roughly 50% of services running non-stop between Clapham Junction and Surbiton via the A3, and the other 50% running all stations via Wimbledon through to either Kingston then Surbiton, or Hampton Court.
This is one of the Clapham Junction-Weybridge services operated by Cardinal Buses, a small independent conveniently close to this service’s end at Addlestone just inside the M25. This bus specifically, 212 with reg plate SN03WMC, is in a semi-preserved state, with it retaining its original Metrobus livery and fleet code (without the DP prefix that Cardinal normally use for their Pointer Darts). This bus performs very well for a bus that’s nearly 19 years old, with this bus managing to overtake cars at some points! The section filmed is between Clapham Junction and Surbiton, specifically West Hill, Wandsworth and Tolworth Roundabout, so I’ll hope you enjoy the video!

Nice stuff, I’ve ticked this off last Sunday on the non-stop Clapham to Surbiton section. Ironically I had an ex Hounslow driver too!
