My thought is Grimes would come in for Klay and act as their main PoA defender. When Kyrie sits, Klay comes back in. I see those four players playing the majority of the minutes 1-3. They can all be interchanged. The few minutes left behind that rotation will have Exum, Dinwiddie, & Hardy fighting to earn. 03) Naji played behind a DEEP Pelican forward roster, and I fully expect him to excel with the Luka effect. I wouldn't be surprised if he starts at PF eventually. He's 6'7" 220 pounds, and for reference PJ is 6'7" 230 pounds. Then you have Kleber for limited mins at PF. It gives Kidd soooo many options. He was the promary ball handler and top 2 scoring option and then LA didn’t use him in a way that maximizes his talents. Well guess what? Now he’s back to where he played the best ball of his career,he has proving to be effective next to Luka,he knows the system, was extremely clutch for us,and he’s not being asked to do much at all. He shot 41% from 3 in a year with us including a WCF run. For the vet mim bringing Spence back home is an amazing move! I love this😂

Exum is more of a true PG then Spencer, so Exum fits more into what we actually need of the bench - thats why we tried to make Jaden into PG last summer league.
@@Rr-j4xI think it was. When I heard it i thought initially thought he meant going to the Lakers was a new challenge and the Mavs just going where there’s comfort.

Dinwiddie, Exum & even throw Hardy into the mix... This battle for the 9th/10th spot will be the most deepcut/interesting debate between MFFLs lol Spencer to me is the preferred choice because he has proven successful playoff experience playing with Luka, both as an injury replacement & as a 2nd or even 3rd ball-handler/playmaker/scorer. Exum is the best defender of the group & Hardy has the most potential... So I can see an argument for all 3. Whoever it is I think will have a very important role though, as I can see Luka & Ky missing 30+ combined games this season.
Lol Exum will have more DNP's because this guy is very injury prone. Also, Dinwiddie will thrive here. 18 months ago he was our 2nd option lol. Even if he fell off, he can easily be our 3rd ball handler off the bench and play 15-20MPG.
Spence shot 44% in his last 15 games for the Lakers. He can get in slumps, but i think he’ll be fine here with our offense and playing with our Centers
Slightly, you must think that Luka and Kyrie can play 40 minutes per game like they did in past years and somehow not be worn out and beat up if the reach the finals again. They lost in five to the Celtics because Luka and Kyrie were just worn out and Luke was beat up and in pain by the finals. Luka and Kyrie need to have their minutes reduced to around 32 minutes per game so, they can have a greater ability to be close to 100% for the playoffs. The Maverick's coaches need to plan their rotations with the idea of playing over 100 games per year. Keeping Luka, Kyrie, and everyone else healthy for the playoffs is now the priority to win the NBA championship.
The main reason Luka wasn’t healthy for the finals though was from dirty hits from the Clippers and Dort, not from playing a lot of minutes in the regular season.
I expect Kleber to be at PF in the 2nd unit if healthy. Especially in the playoffs. I expect Exum to play when Kyrie and Luka are out. And when Kleber gets hurt.
@@a.puerto5667 Exum was amazing in the regular season though, third best plus/minus after Luka and Kyrie. I would imagine he plays a lot better next year in the playoffs. And yes, Kleber is likely to get hurt at some point.
@@jjwilly13 Oh, I expect Exum to play for those reasons in the regular season, I just lost confidence in him from this playoffs run that I expect him to get DNPs in the playoffs unless someone gets hurt or someone is struggling badly. The only reason he started to get PT in the Finals is because Kidd lost confidence in Hardy. And seeing how he lost minutes to Hardy vs Min made me lose more confidence in him. We’ll see once playoffs start if he’s part of the rotation.
Mavs now has a trustworthy competent bench in a sense compared to last time with THJ, Josh, and Exum. I'll trust Spencer than Exum and I wouldn't be surprised if Exum could rarely play. Exum is amazing last season but let's be honest he's so passive which is a little annoying sometimes similar with Josh. If he doesn't shoot he's like headless chicken their dribbling around the playoffs prove it. Exum also has a slow release shot like DJJ and Josh which why good defense team won't be bothered much leaving them open not only they're hesitant to shoot but also took a day to shoot a ball. All that issues were addressed now with Spencer, Qdot, Naji. The bench will be solid with Spencer, Hardy, Qdot, Naji, Gafford. Exum and Maxi will be where they're supposed to be 3rd string guys.
We need a back up 4 after pj. If pj goes down God forbid maxi is injury prone, marshall is a 3 klays backup but he could back up pj at the 4 , omax isn't ready yet . They are solid for sure regardless. They gonna have to pay hardy next season I see him as trade bait with maxi expiring contract.
Its because they wanna try to win soon with Luka. When teams have a true superstar they're usually looking to capitalize as opposed to have too many players that they need to develop.
@@Andrew-gs2ps Because Klay is 34, and Kyrie has a player option after this season. Developmental projects [OMax/Jaden] are for rebuilding teams. Not a team that just made the Finals
@@Andrew-gs2psMavs are in win now mode. I still wouldn’t trade Hardy her though, because Dinwiddie can have a great year on a contract year and get paid next summer. So I keep him as a bkup option if Dinwiddie leaves.
Dante's reached his Peak. Exum will get the DNPs and you've got to trade him. This is not going to be effective if you try to share the minutes; neither player would get any sort of rhythm/continuity. Same with what you saw when Maxi went out with the injury and Gafford + Lively got more playing time/rhythm. Spencer Dinwiddie is proven with the Mavs. Not only the 30 points in a game 7 vs #1 suns in 2022 and the back to back game-winning threes (one vs the Cs!), Spencer popped off for 36 points in 2023 vs the suns when Luka got injured, is proven in grabbing the bull by the horns. Next game he goes off for 35 points. He averaged 23.8 ppg in his last 11 games as a Mav in 2023. He is already close/longtime friends with Kyrie Irving AND is Luka Doncic-approved. Dude is fearless dunking on bigs (Chet, Gobert, Embiid, others), great facilitator, did accomplish something noteworthy in LAL by improving his defense (game-winning blocks), in a broken laker system. Like Theo Pinson said--last year with LAL was NOT Dinwiddie. Brooklyn wanted him to facilitate, LAL didn't know what the heck they wanted (they wanted to wait for Bronnie). Dinwiddie brings swagger, fearlessness, credibility, clutch shooting and facilitation. Put the ball in his hands. You've got to trade Exum and another player by the trade deadline and bring in a big like Mo Bamba. Separately, I don't believe Klay will be starting/finishing come playoff time. If anything, he starts, plays 1Q and 3Q and Naji takes over closing out both halves. Throughout Klay's career, much of his scoring comes in the 1Q and 3Q.
The blowby stat is funny cause the only other time I've seen it mentioned was when a reporter was actually making fun of how dumb the stat is because PJ Tucker was top 3 in it a while back
Dinwiddie is just honest... the mom vs dad is not disrespectful to the Mavs its just true. The Lakers is a MUCH higher pressure environment to play in due to the LeBron, the media and expectations. Not sure why this upsets folks. If we want athletes to be honest in the press, don't be upset when they are.
Dinwiddie expectations are much lower this time around. If he gets 8-10pts a game shooting 37-38% from 3 and taking ball handling duties for the bench unit allowing Luka and Kyrie to rest, it's a win.
If Spence is as good as he was last time he was here or even a step below that. Then he will be Luka’s backup. Exum and Hardy are fighting for minutes. That is a second round pick and a guy who had a non-guaranteed deal…they will be fine.
I think Nick nailed it in the head with the mama = soft allegations. We had to endure years of Dirk getting called soft and even today it pisses me off. But I've forgiven Dinwiddie, as long as he hits 40 percent of his threes it's all good. It's not like he's Dwyane Wade joining the Mavs or something
Mavs lost their 2 fastest players in Green, Jones. Naji and Grimes are not as fast, athletic but can play great half court D. Grimes can run the court on fast breaks, but not like Green. The Green/Jones duo running fast breaks off blocks was killer transition O. Being younger, more athletic, faster, above the rim at Guard help get you to the Finals. I think Exum and Hardy are better than Spencer at this point, but there will be some healthy competition at back up SG/PG. But reminder, Kidd goes 3 Guard a lot, when he goes with his 2 Biggs bench look, Maxi/Lively
Kidd said Exum was gonna crack the starting rotation before his injury, not sure how he doesn’t get priority over Dinwiddie…what if that one season was a fluke and he’s not much more than a more experienced Hardy.
I think Luka might’ve pulled a Giannis. Forcing the team to make trades that fit for you and then pulling off a chip. Last year I had WCF aspirations even when everyone folded after that horrible 7 game stretch post trade. This year I truly believe that we can make it to the finals and for sure beat every team in the east but Boston. And even with Boston I still think we can win, it’s just not as simple a task. But the mavs are built to defend their WCF title and are actually built to compete with literally almost every team in the east, AND WIN
Dinwiddie, might cause a problem with the mavs team chemistry due his Mama's comment. He is like saying what Kuzma said in lowkey that Mavs are not yet title contender and LAL was the big deal. He needs to apologize to the Mavs fan who never stop believing
Thats not what he meant at all. His point was Dallas wouldve been comfortable for him. Small role, no pressure, noone would expect him to do much behind Luka/Kyrie. LA was the bigger challenge cause the team was bad, needed a better PG, his role was bigger. Nothing in his Mamma vs Daddy comment was about the Lakers being better or a bigger contender. It was about challenging himself on a team that was clealy worse then Dallas, compared to a role on a team with 2 Superstars playing his position. Well, he couldnt help the Lakers as much as needed. So now he came back, cause he wants to play on a top team, even if his role is smaller. And like Kyrie, I think he appreciates the smaller market without the constant media scrutiny and the blaming that comes with playing next to Lebron. Dont forget the Lakers were the 1st big Meda market he ever played in. I mean, everyone is the reason why the Lakers loose, except Lebron of course.
Hot take: I would've cut Exum and brought both Dinwiddie and Dennis Smith Jr in. Exum was fun last year but there's no way he shoots 50% from three again. And we already saw he's unplayable in the playoffs.
I don’t blame him for not signing with the Mavs last year- probably some hurt feelings from the trade. I think the comments just make him look ignorant when he then comes back the next year 😂
I feel like the Mama comment isnt bad like the worst thing he said about us is that its easy for him to succeed in dallas and prefferred a challenge to restart his career on the right foot. Also he just got signed to the lakes what did people expect him to say. oh yeah the dallas are WAY better than the lakers and I would of rather been there but yolo. like nah you gotta lie and try to make the new org and fans excited to have you.
I’m wondering why anyone want Exum to play more minutes than Spencer or Hardy when Exum gave the Mavs absolutely nothing in the playoffs? Spencer/Hardy>Spencer. Exum has basically been a bust when you looked at where he was drafted? I could see if he averaged 19pts per game in the regular season? Kidd knows how to use Spencer and Spencer is completely comfortable playing with Luka. Now Spencer has a better group of talent at his disposal. And no nobody should care about Spencer saying what he said while playing with the Fakers. It’s a business not a family reunion people.
Dinwiddie will be 6th man off the bench. He will start when Luka or Kyrie miss. Exum will drift out of the rotation. This squad has a highest floor a Luka team has had in Dallas.
Spencer's media awareness is either extremely high and he is having a major laugh, or he is just AWFUL at it. NJ and WAS fans also both have wild stories about Spencer quotes. I think most can discern he is saying he wanted the harder path and bigger role. They needed Spencer to play and play well in their 8-man rotation. Dallas needed a 3rd PG.
No F’n way Dinwiddie gets DNPs. He doesn’t have to earn shit. If anything that’s for Hardy and Exum. Also, Exum showed in the playoffs that he’s just like Powell. He’s a regular season player, not a playoffs player. Also, I never took Dinwiddies comments personally. He wanted a challenge to play in LA, and saw the Mavs as a comfort. All in all, this organization took Diandre Jordan after what he did to us. I personally don’t give AF.
Dinwiddie should only be forgiven once he says “Mama knows best” 😂
Absolutely mama know best. Yes he needs to say that😂

he talks too much
He doesn't need to apologize. Mavs are the one that traded him even though he played well so he had a right to be a lil salty still.

@@LockedOnMavericksI have to disagree, because it's the playoffs where shooting goes away but defense stays. It's what got you there.
They mavs up graded their role players Nico should get Gm of the year 🎉🎉🎉
Dinwiddie and exum minutes= a fresh and healthy kyrie and luka for the playoffs
Kidd said Exum was gonna crack the starting rotation before his injury, not sure how he doesn’t get priority over Dinwiddie…what if that one season was a fluke and he’s not much more than a more experienced Hardy.
Staying at dad's, but you have to sleep on the floor.
Not even mad at him, felt sorry for the dude, missed the chance to go to The Finals 😅
Welcome home to momma Spencer!
Lmao at Forgot about Frank!
Kidd must reduce Luka minutes as much as possible.
Below 35 is the ultimate goal
The new intro has ruined the let it ride saying because I never want to let it ride with the intro. Petition to have it changed please 🤣
I want to hear him apologize 😂
Remember when Spencer made a comment about a ref and his free throw attempts took a nose dive 😂
Come to Mama!
I think the comments just make him look ignorant when he then comes back the next year 😂
Instead of Morris hope we sign Dom Barlow as PF after Lawson cut
I feel like the Mama comment isnt bad like the worst thing he said about us is that its easy for him to succeed in dallas and prefferred a challenge to restart his career on the right foot.
Also he just got signed to the lakes what did people expect him to say. oh yeah the dallas are WAY better than the lakers and I would of rather been there but yolo. like nah you gotta lie and try to make the new org and fans excited to have you.
It’s PJ Tre
Right water under the bridge..100
Luka’s nickname is El Niño maravilla ,the boy wonder !
Sadly I think Exum will get more DNP’s
Quentin Grimes is dating Sidney Sweeney, so he is the MVP of the Offseason hands down
Sydney Sweeney is engaged bro
hes aight on offense but mavs never forget what he said😂😂😂
Slightly forgot about Frank 😂😂😂😂😂
The Don is hard 😂
please change the music back to the old intro
If you need someone to tell you to fight back, you don't have the right mindset to be in the NBA or any sport for that matter.
Soft Mommas band name I call it
I’m wondering why anyone want Exum to play more minutes than Spencer or Hardy when Exum gave the Mavs absolutely nothing in the playoffs?
Hardy will also not gonna play a lot
Um, "Hi, Mommies. I'm back."
I wonder if it’s more fun at mom’s house? 😅😂
Anything
Soft momma almost made me spit take😂😂
We do have intials guy on the team it's Kyrie Irving aka Kai.
I kinda liked Luka “The Don” Doncic
Exum will get hurt.. All thoughts about who will play gone. What about Grimes? Not good enough . are we sure about it.
Our bench unit is better then the Brooklyn nets 😂😂😂
People forget about Frank...
Dinwiddie is a better player then exam he might be the 6th man
IMO Kai has said a lot worse than SD. Mavs fans seem fine with him.
Nick please go back to the previous intro music...
I’m sorry Slightly is completely wrong Spence will take over Exum minutes while Hardy and Exum will fight for time
Dinwiddie means Luka can actually rest between quarters
Nico Harrison the goat
