The bullgryn go out of the list and probably so does Lord solar he was needed to be able to order the tank commanders and Bullgryn but with losing the bullgryn and tank commanders ordering themselves now that’s surplus to requirement. You lose the CP generation but are now wildly more efficient with tank commanders. The lord solar blob is more than the cost of a tank commander for way less output
Took me 3 months to finally get a decent competitive list that earned me a 2nd place at a Delaware gt and now that list is over 50 points. Think im gonna shelve my BT until their codex come out
Easiest way to fix marines is not to allow other chapters to use codex marine detachments, simple, if chaos can’t do it, why are marines allowed?!? They could then adjust the points more fairly rather than slap a massive increase due to a specific chapter in a specific detachment
I really want to play a melee sisters list but how the penitent host detachment works is aggravating. Hopefully I can make the Army of Faith work with Zeraphim and Repentia?
Im not seeing the kroot hunting pack ever being good again with the hard nerfs it got alongside some nerfs it caught due to other factions. What made the detachment good was the respawning kroot that were hyper durable for what their points were. Now you have nerfs to hammerheads, Riptides, and Piranhas, which were largely the best independent sources of damage that didnt rely on detachment buffs or the army buff to be good. Now its just going to be similar to Flappy Boy Jail that Ad Mech could do before this recent round of nerfs. I dont see the Kroot Hunting pack ever coming back.
I’ve been playing penitent host for a while now and I’ve always played it where you had to choose one of the benefits every turn. Not having those rules turns 4-5 never really hurt as most of your penitent units are dead. And those who are not can be really annoying with your strat’s. The real nerf to the list is the triumph, but it was deserved, and making seriphm more expensive makes points scoring a bit more difficult. I imagine penitent host may actually see an uptick in players now that bringers of the flame meta is slightly less viable. Great video by the way.
Sulpherhounds being about to shell out mortals on a 2+ if they start a charge near battleline units is kinda awesome. I traded all my bat boys for horse dogs and I’m having a blast
I really like the look of Ravenwing going into the new meta. The speeders being cheaper is going to allow for a lot more flexibility in lists. I’m just wondering if I would try to fit infiltrators into the list
Imperial Guard overall got buffed. Tank commanders got a huge damage buff, Lord solar is no longer necessary and Bullgryn weren't necessary if youre running chimeras.
Yeah have to agree the whole thing was a net win for the guard. Being able to order our tank commanders and the points cuts to scout sentinels is amazing and now some other units are looking tasty. Personally the for changes to the Tank Commander being able to order itself now and getting lethal hits I would pay the extra points no questions asked. Only people who really lost out was those playing Bullgryn lists though I’m not one of them. Honestly think we got a good buff though not as big as some of the other factions but to call what happened a big lose is a complete miss read in my mind.

@@hexzinggaming5040 i cut the lord solar blob from my list and turned all my tanks to TCs with Demolisher cannons. Saved enough points to throw in another Cadian blobs with creed and a command squad

Mostly Lord Solar will only be for my mechanised tank list so I can order chimera and non tank commanders if I go silly on number of tanks. As I’m thinking I’ll have three tank Commanders (one with grand strategist) plus a LEMAN RUSS EXTERMINATOR for even more ap though might go for a rogal dorn as Road block. Gonna have a lot of scout sentinels as well.
@@Swordsmansmith87 Sure but its 90 points more expensive running triple ACDC, that is equivalent of missing on 5 legionaires or 1 chaos lord, the list will be weaker than before. Other lists that started weaker than the triple ACDC might be stronger now. If those lists are remain worse than the worsened triple ACDC list depends on the changes the other factions go trough as well and the changes made to Chaos Knights Allies (which actually got cheaper) or Chaos Demons. Overall I think it is a sidegrade and lists will have to adapt, if they cant adapt and triple ACDC is stil the BEST choice we have then Chaos just got nerfed and will have an even lower winrate than now and might struggle getting GT wins as often as they do now but hey Thousand Sons and Sister Of Battle got nerfed a lot more, so maybe the winrate mighht even increase, only time will tell.
the Templar nerfs make no sense. One guy pulls off a win with a crusader spam list and GW decides Black Templars are too powerful despite their dismal winrate after their Ironstorm nerfs.
A single frenchman wins a big event with an extremelt.expensive skew.list and we immediately get dinged for it. I have not seen that Crusader spam list pop up outside of a handful of events.
Blame Dark Angels I guess? SM being in such a state but unable to fix due to the non codex compliant chapters is atrocious. Until they give normal SM and the other SM chapters different points or limit what detachments they can use I don't know how they'd fix them. Buffing Aeldari isn't a bad move though. Fire prisms and Falcons going down is a surprise but I'm all for the smaller wraith units and the knight going down in points. Ideally I'd like to see more incentives for bringing other phoenix lords, avengers, Reapers etc...
Not really much of a buff, no significant points decreases although they didnt get any increases so that should tell you something about aeldari after the fate dice nerf. The wraiths change was to entice msu lists by making the 5 man cheaper; and the wraithknight going down only 15 points is a joke, its equivalent to a questoris knight for quite alot more points. Aeldari were one of the last to get their codex for 9th so currently arent on the same power scale as those that have gotten their 10th codex.
@@danjones3012 I don't know, I'm tempted to run a wraithknight! With how towering works with ruins, access to fire and fade and strategic reserve... I think they have edge case uses

Very curious if GSC can partake in the whole combat side of the game now. There score and die was already good and now has only gotten way better. But i still personally do not see any relevant overall output.

Sisters lists aren't going to change much, because BoF just makes Sisters better at doing what they need to do anyway. The only way to kill vehicles and monsters is to point-blank them with Melta weapons and hope you survive, because the only long-ranged anti-tank they have is the Castigator or the hilariously overcosted Exorcist (15 points more expensive than a Manticore, which has better range and doesn't have to pick between anti-vehicle and anti-infantry, plus lethal hits if it can see the target). Anything that gives your Melta units a better chance of killing the target before getting shredded by counter fire is something you HAVE to take. The only potential change I can see is people switching to Army of Faith in order to guarantee at least one Melta shot will wound and deal max damage, but that depends on being lucky with miracle dice. The basic force composition isn't going to change, it'll just be smaller.
@@davidjones4772 1 more shot, D6 damage versus 3 so potentially better, potentially worse unless you spend miracle dice, and Storm Rockets have Heavy, so if the Manticore doesn't move, it has the same BS (and with 120 inch indirect fire, it does not need to move). That's better, but it's not 15 points better.
Bullgryns went up in points and were featured heavily in winning lists before. So if you consider Guard winners or losers depends a lot if you favor the Bullgryn meta or not. But yes, a lot of Guard lists can be considered winners and casual Guard players will love the changes even more.

Templars primaris crusaders are the same cost as regular assault intercessors but get an extra attack an extra power fist and an extra power weapon. Theyre fine in 10 mans
custodes didnt get anything besides an indirect nerf by Canis going up 15 points. No one played the dreads, not because they're overcosted, but because their movement is 6" and dont have assault weapons. Plus it's a vehicle so it can't walk through ruin walls like infantry can. Bring the movement back up to 8" and there might be something. Chaos demons I can't speak for.
Because nothing important changed. No one was playing dreadnoughts or bikes since they’re either too slow or too weak. Those are the ones that got the point buff.
@@demarek chaos Knights, orks, space marines, and imp agents are lower. They are 1 percent behind csm and templars. 46% is a fine, if slightly hard to pilot, winrate. Get good, or just keep complaining about a lore change that doesn't affect how bad you are at the game.
just because you are sexsist does not mean the faction is bad. They only got buffs this update. The only thing they really need now is a way to get past damage reduction: a.i. a trajan reset (Without the fight first though, that shit does not belong on units which hit ungodly hard AND are absurdly durable)

Black templars got HAMMERED. My tournament list went up about 40 points for the 3rd or 4th slate on the bounce. Gutted.

As a Orknplayer who’s army rule only works for one of the five turns in a game the SOBs only getting three turns of rules isn’t so bad. 😂

I think they wil be near the bottom of sidegraded, competitive ACDC got nerfed but other not as muched choices got buffed.
