We have had a similar issue. It actually ended up being the BOV spring was too heavy. The boost pressure created by the charger in decel was holding the throttle blades open which meant the vacuum in the manifold wasn't enough to pull open the BOV with the 11 pound spring we were running. This all meant the actuator was trying to shut the bodies but it was fighting the boost and threw a code. If the actuator doesn't clear up the issue you might want to give the BOV spring a change and try it. Putting in a new actuator might just give you enough strength to overpower the boost pressure and essentialy provide the same fix. My 2 cents. Love the channel.
While you were down there I would've cleaned my ITBs. The E46 M3 is known for having rough idle when the plenums are dirty! Just did mine a few weeks back aha ;)
This is a dream project car of mine. See lots of people talking about how unreliable the E46 model is but I see so many driving on the road I struggle to believe that
At any rate I have an e46 and haven’t regretted it at all, but paying people to work on it is a bit pricey keep that in mind if you don’t like doing your own work
Bought a 323i a few months back as a daily and its been good to me so far, made me get into bmws more and now i want an m3 lol maybe some time in the future
I am a big fan of the channel the jokes are crazy the knowledge is in sane and the bond amongst men in that shop is real feeling the vibes real friends are hard to come by keep up the good work throttle life🏁💯🔥🎥☝🏼
I would go crinkle black to help dissapate heat and keep you intake temps cool. Black plus the crinkle will in theory give you more surface area to allow more heat dissapation.
If it's dieing while decelerating or coming to a stop. You need to clean the icv (idle control valve) it's right under the intake manifold has the black tubing going from the manifold to the top of the air rail.
Mines had the same problem because when I changed the OEM throttle body clamps to cheaper easier hose clamps at mid throttle the actuator kept hitting the clamps since it wasn't perfectly round.
Well, I love the idea. I think you should clean the whole engine bay and then remove intake manifold (bead blast) and then use a proper BMW (black/red/dark blue/light blue) use the blue and then paint 3 other engine components dark blue, red, black color. Also, I love the train horns and aircraft flying above as I served in the U.S.Navy and was once stationed in the San Dog!
I had mine brought to a couple of BMW shops to fix an idling problem when the car gets to temperature. They tried putting in a new actuator, Idle control vale and anything else they could think of but nothing fixed the problem. I've come to realize that my car only does this idle problem when clutch is in and the car is in gear (especially reverse). My car is a manual swap car so I believe the problem has to do with the computer trying to read the cars gears still. But haven't yet fixed the problem.
Bro!!!!!! I literally was going through the same problem about two years ago. I would be cruising around and all of a sudden my car would not pass the 10-15 mph mark. It’s like the car was dying. At first I thought had I ran out of gas!?!? But I had literally a half of tank left. So I pulled over turned off the car and turned it back on. It was working fine for a couple minutes and then back to the same BS. I took it to an official BMW dealer and the mechanic did some test on it. He told me that it was the throttle body actuator
Hey boys. I just picked up a 2002 BMW m3 e46 for 13k it has 145k miles on it. It's a Laguna Seca Blue but I think they just painted it like that cause the engine bay color is silver but all the door sills and the truck is blue. It's also a 6 speed but I think it used to be smg
And he told me that with part and labor it would be 1,500 bucks. So I told him don’t worry about I’ll buy the part and do the labor. I replaced the throttle body actuator a couple days after, but it was still doing the same thing. So I called a buddy of mine with an E46 M3 as well and he told me to clean out the throttlebody with gas.... I was like wait what??!!!! He told me to shup and do it. Well I kid you not it working like a champ after that. I put in the old throttlebody back in the car and it’s been working like a champ since that day. Just thought I’d share that Incase anyone is going through the same problem. Try that before dumping 7 bucks on that part!
Picked up an e46 m3 and am trying to buy some new wheels on stock suspension. Was wondering if anyone could help with the most aggressive wheel fitment i could get without rolling fenders or camber plates.

Excellent feedback. Will try!
Carbon black is one of my favorite colors on the E46M3
Crinkle red that bay makes everything look so much better

@@einen4554 Plan is to pick up a cheaper model and get used to the work and then get an M3 a little further down the line

At any rate that’s what I’m doing I have a 330ci that I know don’t hate but I’m going to Ls swap it and eventually m3

Stud conversion was the first thing I did while doing a complete rebuild of the suspension of my e28!

love when a part fix's the problem when it gives you multiple part choices intake I would either polish it or do a black winkle finish.
Now that I’m in my mid 30s I haven’t been in a double nut situation for a while .
Motorsports products are always great. Do some livery on the e46 for the track. Its coming together nicely! 👍🏼
Thanks for the BMW content
Should have went for the bullet style lugs, would look more aggressive, love your car, clean af, proud of you beks
Evan the intake manifold will look awesome in gunmetal gray or even carbon fiber Hydro dip 😊👍

Any update on the mr2
You should just get a new intake manifold or just polish it

E46 video! Nice!!!
Wheel bolts are so hard to work with
Especially when putting on wheels

Hey! Can you please email me evan@throtl.com thanks!
The engine bay do a nice simple silver.
I had a Pinto one time that... well you fixed it.
What size tires are you using?
Do a crinkle black!!
Do you use ISTA? It helps me pinpoint my issues with all my Bimmers.
Black wrinkle on the intake and get those raised bits smoothed off
Of course, you just locked yourself into the stock ones, or have to remove those new studs and reinstall on the new rotors.
Polish the manifold. 😎
10.16 😂😂👍🏼👌🏽😂
could be intake temperature sensor
How much is that quick jack?
Question off topic what company exhaust systems do u guy use again??
This car has a status Gruppe header and Megan racing exhaust.
Crinkle black intake 🤤
Should of disconnect the power on the batt 2 reset the computer 2 try 2 get rid of the light on the dash....
Specs on front apex wheel?
Maybe battery, or alternater
I love your M3
Thanks Oscar!
My last ever throtl video till I get back from basic in June😭
Goodluck!
Good luck man!

What color is that? Carbon Black?
DEEZ NUTZ are cool actually
Y does everyone rock the same wheels on the e46😩
Which stud did u get? 90mm or70?
70mm
Notification squad 👌🏼 first here good video guys
my supercharged e92 had the same issue
How did you fix it?
Replaced throttle actuator and haven’t been in limp mode since. Somewhat common on the s65’s
There is no way the standard brake setup on this car is good enough for the supercharger. They fade quick enough on stock power.
s54 power
Extreme Pressure Lube for your nuts??
(Don't u mean mine? ;) )
Wrinkle black or polish
Time for a brake kit, bro. Stoptech or Power Stop; drilled and slotted rotors, better low dust pads? Come on.
11:28 hahah.
Crinkle black manifold
Did mickey just fart in the background lmao
Yes
Dude! Please get a new intake filter. It looks like S**T ! Car looks great. Under the hood should as well. BMW life!
Polish it!!
Judging by the video title, I was expecting some kind of install for blinkers/indicators... Hehe
Music links anyone
can you mabye just show us the m3 plz
Needs what? A subscriptions at your local garage?
