    I've owned hundreds of overdrive, and this one is one of, if not THE best I've heard. It really does it all. Addictive to play through it, and you can leave it on all the time--just use the guitar vol to adjust breakup. Phenomenal.

    Awesome sounding compact drive pedal!!!!Although this pedal may have been designed for non-master volume controlled type amps, can attest that this pedal also works with amps with master volume controls too! Have validated this using a Mesa Boogie amplifier with master volume controls, and my amp sounds amazing with Compact Revival Drive engaged!! From Marshall Plexi to Fender Brown/Black Face amps to Vox tones, its all here with Origin Effects Compact Revival Drive.

    How does it work with the boss Katana? I´m impressed for the demos and I´m thinking in get one but I haven´t seen a review with the Katana which is very popular. It would be nice is anyone do a demo. Another question is if you can get those tones at a bedroom volume. Thanks, amazing product really in another level.

    Is there a always on bright cap inside the compact version? Or I can only have it on the standard version?
    Im asking because I'm always rolling back the volume on my guitar and having that is really important to my tone.
    Thanks!!

    How does it sound using TV Jones pups? Origin sight priced this pedal at £266 without tax/duties etc. I'm in the UK so will it be £266 to buy for myself or will there be duties/taxes on top of the original price? I love my Cali76.

    I see the RD Compact is listed as having "ultra-high input impedance"; what is the actual specification? I always use a true bypass boost in front of my drive pedals, and I'd like to avoid any obvious tonality changes between having the booster on or off, which is the one problem I am currently experiencing with my current setup.

    Lastly, how does it handle a clean boost/OD in front?

    • @OriginEffectsUK
      @OriginEffectsUK  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Guitar -> RevivalDRIVE Compact -> Pro Reverb. The recording setup involved an SM57 & a Beyer M106 into a Universal Audio Apollo Twin, recorded with Pro Tools.
      You can combine the pedal with other clean boosts, overdrives & fuzzes. It takes them well!

    This looks much more interesting than the big box Revival Drive, though I'm really not looking to reproduce amp tones so much as I'm looking for *my* tone, and I lean much more toward the Fender Tweed and Blackface type of frequency responses, and really dislike Marshall style tones. Currently, I'm using a pair of Spark minis flanking a Honey Bee, into a big Spark, all of which runs into the front of two Mesa amps, and it works like a dream. I'd like to try the RD Compact in place of my big Spark.

      @coffeewaldo 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Brendan Curtis I use mine in front of a crunchy amp. My amp can go very high gain but that’s not how I used it. It just pushed my crunch into more distortion. I’ve used it in front of very high gain profiles on a Kemper and it handles everything I threw at it. It made the Kemper sound and feel better.

    The hilarious thing about origin is their affinity for releasing these ENORMOUS, meticulously detailed pedals, then releasing a half sized version (that’s still larger than the average pedal by a pretty reasonable margin) that’s called “compact” hahah
    Don’t get me wrong...my Cali76 is going nowhere...unless someone, somewhere figures out a way of atom smashing an actual 1176 or distressor down to size, which isn’t happening any time soon so far as I can tell.

    Hats off to you guys it sounds incredible, also not a one trick pony. Every review on you tube they all rate it . I'm getting one for sure, I would like ask you about great clean tones for eg, the intro to yellow Ledbetter pearl jam. So chimey, bell like, massive piano string bottom end most amazing tone. So you do a pedal to replicate that sound. A Strat into a cranked clean fender style amp I'm guessing. I play slide also and saving up for a your Slide rig compact aswell keep up the excellent work. Cheers Martyn.
