Lithium was my favorite song growing up in the early 90s when I was about 7. It is very oddly soothing. I think because it's incredibly raw and real sounding.

People have no idea how tight these vocals are, to make double tracks sound this good,so identical that they almost sound like a chorus effect on one single track, it takes a good ear like kurt’s to pull off something with this quality, and an amazing producer like Matt Wallace as well. Even though Kurt wasn’t technically proficient as a vocalist he was an amazing song and melody writer, and he had visceral and raw and very powerful vocals.

Kurt and Nirvana has always been special, they were a much more different sound than anything else going on, Kurt's voice was so unique and amazing, you can actually hear the anger in his screams, not just because he wanted to scream but because he needed to.
I know Kurt is still rocking out somewhere in the afterlife, he was, and still is, truly a legend. I know how it feels to deal with depression, (not trying to make a self pity party), and I wish someone would've stepped in and helped, but it's no one's fault. I know Kurt is still rocking out somewhere in the afterlife, he was, and still is, truly a legend. I know how it feels to deal with depression, (not trying to make a self pity party), and I wish someone would've stepped in and helped, but it's no one's fault. I hope Kurt knows how many lives he's changed, and I hope he's in a better place. Rest in peace Kurt, you will be missed. 🤘🏻

i never really liked nirvana growing up, but my dad would always listen to them. looking into them now that i’m 16, i still don’t really enjoy their music, but kurt was SUCH an amazing human being. i’ve been doing so much research and i have so much respect for him and the band as a whole.

PIlotrcm on the prechorus and chorus. It's actually quite common. Back then Kurt didn't want to do it when Butch Vig suggested it. Then Vig said, "John Lennon did it." Kurt: "Okay, lets do it."
It's called double tracking. You record it twice and pan one to the left and the other to the right. Really common in music with heavily distorted guitars.

Cobain was masterful and precise in how he made his music. He was planning on transforming his music as he grew older, who’s to say his influence wouldn’t have been just as immense as Lennon or greater

There weren't many effects to rely on back in the early 1990's.
That is true there is still definitley some doubling and use of reverb on his voice as you can hear. Nothing like using Autotune tho for sure

I grew up on Nirvana in my early teens. This made me cry. You can hear his pain in every song. I think that’s why so many people are still drawn to them. They put our pain into the universe and we can all relate still. RIP.
