One of the things that I like to do is to... kind of take opportunities to see the place I live in through the eyes of a tourist, even after over a decade living here in the Seattle area, myself. I love discovering new places that would be easy to overlook.
I used to love going to Seattle, but I hadn't been in about ten years.. my husband and I went there for our anniversary last year, and it was really sad to see how it has declined.. homeless people everywhere, doing drugs and peeing on the sidewalks. Just crazy.
@@beee___ yes, i used to take my younger siblings on walks around the city especially near pike place market. It is so dangerous in certain areas of seattle now that a walk could go from a peaceful walk to a missing person.
It’s funny seeing tourist come to Seattle (where I live) it’s like the last place Americans want to visit. I feel like the only popular thing about Washington is Starbucks and twilight series
The BEST place to eat at Pikes is a small hole in the wall called Turkish Delights! Best food, authentic turkish coffee and turkish delights in so many different flavors
It’s crazy Ive lived right by Seattle my whole 27 years of life but never go unless it’s for the airport. Besides the few marathons my mom and me did but never been to pike place or gum wall or touristy spots
I went to Lukes on my vacation actually had a number of lobster rolls from various places. I don't have a single bad lobster roll. Luke's was delicious. The best of is in that theater ride the Hill from Pike's Place right across from play upstairs theater is this seafood restaurant. Some of the best food I've ever had
Come with me as I spend $500 for a day in Seattle. Born and raised in Seattle Wa, its CHANGED SO MUCH SUPER EXPENSIVE NOW. MOST Seattlelites can't afford the city now,its full of RECKLESS driving in RAIN TRANSPORTS who moved here b c its " pretty and trendy ".....
I have to work in Seattle sometimes and it’s extremely expensive and over priced and you have to watch out for all the homeless people and drug needles. You need to go to Tacoma, alot better.
So I’m from Seattle and have done a fair share of traveling.. It seems like everywhere but here has the best exotic food places.. we literally have NOTHING but the pike place market… I have to admit Seattle is at the bottom of the totem pole when it comes to good places to eat… it really sucks out here… HONESTLY
To Seattle livers and lovers, moral of the comments, if you look for the bad, you'll find it. All about perspective. Even when you're exposed to the mess of the world
As someone living in Seattle, I would highly recommend going to jacks fish place just a hundred feet down from pike place chowder ( for chowder) there are shorter lines, cheeper chowder and it’s even better than pike place chowder
Le Panier is awesome! They have a really lovely and relatively affordable baguette. Hit up Saffron Spice next time! They make some great curries and samosas.
Yay! Thank you for your positive review on the Pike Place Market. I was born and raised in Seattle, and like other commenters, I have not seen Seattle restaurants rated. I love Pike Place fish and chips, and chowder. Great video😊
Yeah, it is pretty dangerous, because my office is literally about... four or five blocks away from Pike Place, and sometimes, I'll just nip over there and grab a few things from a couple of places. Love Beecher's cheese, and the fact that it is in the normal grocery stores around here. I use it so often!
Your not a tourist if you live within 100 miles. But I feel ya. We lived in kent for 6 years now in tacoma. We still love visiting the dirty city pretty much every week. Only during winter. No summer trips. Way too spendy and crowded. Smells like piss. Eeew.
Aww sad, I miss Rachel of Rachel’s ginger beer. She was an old buddy of mine from the good ol days. Love you miss! I’ll never forget Moscow mules with you.
Go visit Bainbridge island its a small island that you take the ferry to its amazing place to hike there are some very good pastry places pizza and frozen yogurt that’s so good i am talking about the south side of the island the pizza place is Calder tree house and the frozen yogurt place is called island cool oh and lets not forget next to the movie place there is a Mexican food place i can comment the location of them if you want
I've seen a few pike place "what i ate" and this is the first one where i felt they actually chose very well and ate enough. Id have added the the confectional and very sad bavarian meats closed
One of the coolest spots in the city, very interesting place, especially all the stands selling interesting handmade stuff especially around the holidays.
Went there a few days ago and got a bunch of pop figures there since there wasn’t anything else really opened since it was around 6:20 pm. Also I did not know they had that type of food there 🤩
Lol I be taking the e-scooters to pikes place on lunch. Just have to order the chowder online before hand, or I’ll get a slice of pizza and just people watch for a bit haha
As someone who lives in Seattle, it’s interesting to see the tourist point of view on our city
for real if you live some where you don't think tourists go there
Also from Seattle area. This is the first time I've seen a tourist version of Seattle.
It's a shit hole
For me it's almost like it's not even the same place tbh. 😭😂
One of the things that I like to do is to... kind of take opportunities to see the place I live in through the eyes of a tourist, even after over a decade living here in the Seattle area, myself. I love discovering new places that would be easy to overlook.
For a quick tourist romp, you did Seattle proud.
Le Panier is top tier, world class.
for real though. It's crazy to me that some people see Seattle as such a grand and cool place to go on vacation to.
I used to love going to Seattle, but I hadn't been in about ten years.. my husband and I went there for our anniversary last year, and it was really sad to see how it has declined.. homeless people everywhere, doing drugs and peeing on the sidewalks. Just crazy.

Fun fact. Starbucks started here as a coffee bean shop :3

Only thing missing is one of every bao. Down the ramp towards the lower levels is my favorite
What no donuts?!? You gotta get donust from pike when you go there the best donuts in the city
I learned to love frozen raspberry yogurt at The Pike Place Market. Best bbq hombow, too.
That bbq hombow is godly

I love so close to Seattle, and most people don't travel to Washington, so it's nice to see people come here ❤
I haven't been down to Pike Place in forever. Once the Light rail gets to me I'll likely go again.
Finally someone who doesn’t rip on our ENTIRE state just because Seattle exists

I rarely go down to pike place and being a broke teenager I only shop at bartells but all that food looks so good
lived in Washington for 10 years (30 min away from Seattle) and only went to pike place once lol
OH and next time go to Boon Boona Coffee, The Communion restaurant and hit up The Met Market to try "The Cookie" it'll change your life! ;-)
I miss Pikes Market!
Lobster in Seattle? At least you got some local crab too
Good choices. I live just east of Seattle. Need to trek to the market someday. It’s been years.
I went to Seattle to visit the Frye art museum and Pike's place on a middle school field trip and it was awesome. Glad you did it justice!

She forgot to mention the 1-2 hours of total wait time to get all of that 😅
Growing up a little away from Seattle but occasionally seeing pike place I miss the place and hope to be in a financial position to go again soon
I'm down in Oly, but it's always cool to see the fish throwing

Beechers is legit my last meal dish
Le Panier is awesome! They have a really lovely and relatively affordable baguette. Hit up Saffron Spice next time! They make some great curries and samosas.
And stop in for some excellent fruit snacks at Sosios.
This is your day. My day is a one hour commute to my school through the rain and freezing temperatures at five in the morning. Funny how that goes lol
I know where I’m eating tomorrow! Thank you I had no idea this place existed
I WENT HERE BEFOREEE

There's a heck of a lot more to see there. Farmer's market, jewelry etc..............
Piroshky!?!
Literally, the only thing I ever get at pikes place is the mini donuts.
Gran some feyntal?
You should always eat lobster on the wrong coast and claim how fresh it tastes. 😂😂
that's an okay selection as a seattle local. next time you have to try mee sum pastry.
I live near Seattle and have personally been there it is so much fun and the clam chowder is amazing who ever goes there should try it
Sooo good❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
You missed all the great places by going to the yuppie touristy places.
Which do you recommend? I’m in Issaquah. It’s been awhile and I would love recs.
What? No Piroshky Piroshky? You missed out, girl. Soft and chewy dough, not hard!

The Beecher's mac-n-cheese rules. Next time hit Jack's Fish Spot; their chowder is the best!
