I have this exact set and have been wanting to make it shine like new so thank you. Could you list the products (in order) you used? It was hard to read the labels as you grabbed most of them. Thanks!
Nice job! I have a set to clean. I found way more grip solvent helps the grip slide on easy and straight. I used to spray too… now I pour it on and get it on fast
Would have liked to see the grooves sharpened and ping grips put on, but I still respect the effort put in! I have the same irons. Had them since 97 and I tried polishing them. It's waaayy more time consuming than you'd think and mine didn't look nearly as good as that!😔
I just polished the sole of the club and around the hosel, the contrast is great, and it's way easier to do as I just used Brasso and a cloth, rather than use a polishing wheel, worked great 👍
Just dip them in cola for a few hours, if you must. PLEASE do your own research before. I have been playing only copper clubs (Ping, Mizuno and other Japanese boutique brands) since 1992 AND I WOULD NEVER EVEN CONSIDER POLISHING THESE BABIES!!!!
I have a video request. If possible could you restore clubs that have been damaged from clanking around in the bag and denting or scaling the irons. I would like to see how you would get those out.

Nice video but Ping clubs weren’t shiny when new, much duller much like the finish on a handgun. The putters started off a more golden polished colour though

I have a set of Lewis Machine & Tool Defense Iron Sights that need your TLC. High end/military spec bolt on iron sights (picatinny mount). Can you possibly restore them for me? It’d be minor resurfacing to get them to shine, maybe a little accent paint to get them to pop then however you’d preserve. Google “L8BUIS556” that’s them…
I agree completely. Showing me without providing the product name, abrasive type or rag brand does not help me to do my clubs making this video somewhat useless. That is the hardest part of the job. Stripping a grip, grinding anyone can do with no explanation required. But to just to proceed with getting the white and black paint right on without explaining is a waste of time. Totally.

@@Ornby1 I like the best of both worlds, I just polish the sole of the club head and around the hosel, in contrast with the remaining patina, my personal preference, but I'd certainly never criticise anyone else wanting to polish the club head completely, it looks great also 👍
Great restoration mate 👍 I have to say though if there was an award for the ugliest golf club in the world that would certainly win......thats why I've never liked pings im more of a forged mizuno man myself but anyhow still a lovely job done giving a new lease of life 👍
Please be very careful working with BeCu. It is extremely hazardous if inhaled. Respirator should be worn if polishing on a wheel. Personally I prefer the oxidized look, it was as intended by Ping and this club will quickly revert. In the meantime its playability is compromised due to glare at address. I appreciate what you are trying to do but wrong club / material.
@@apollo8972 Not at all. These clubs were never shiny even when new. BeCu oxides very quickly and is intended to be played in their dull state. Not only is it very dangerous to polish this material without proper safety precautions, it also restricts playability as others here have confirmed and sadly reduces the value of the clubs.
@@graemetaylor4149 How can it affect playability unless you are actually damaging the grooves?. I have lots of beCu putters and 2 sets of Ping eye 2s so don’t lecture me on what is the correct way to handle them. They don’t actually oxide that quickly either it actually takes some time. What this guy is doing will have no impact on its value, playability or his health. They didn’t come from the pro shop dark brown either that patina takes years.

Treetop Restorations Beautiful restoration. Soap, water, scrub brush, rinse. Soak overnight in Coca Cola.
What products did you use other than salty vinegar. Any polish will work but what was the first one?

The grinding/polishing dust from that is really good for you.
Im gonna bet that is why he didn't sharpen the gooves because that would be the most dangerous with shards of beryllium going everywhere

A bit of advice, keep them that way.
I have Ping Eye 2 +no+ becu 2-SW set (Red Dot). Will keep them as is with stock tour wrap grips and no shine.

You are correct. That was actually footage.
Stick a tee in the end of the grip when installing. Makes it much easier.
mineral spirits is much cheaper, as well.
Why not just use Coke a Cola in a bucket ? Either one will ensure that the sunlight Reflects Directly into your Eyes while your trying to hit the ball

pretty sure polishing BeCu is what makes em toxic. Hope guy had plenty of ventilation and his respirator on tight!

Beryllium Copper clubs are not meant to be polished like this. The patina forms over time and adds to the overall clubhead feel
Also you don’t want to be doing anything to beryllium since it’s super toxic

This Beryllium club is toxic if cleaned incorrectly. The gloves are not enough especially when you were polishing them

Absolutely right - this is a fairly pointless exercise really as after 1 round they will be darkened again. Look better dark brown anyway.
Give the guy a break we all know that he is just returning them to how they would of looked out of the wrapper.

Utterly pointless. Leave them in a room for 5 mins and they’ll be back to normal - which what they’re supposed to be!!!
