Fun Fact: since you made this, the Cubs are making another appearance on the trade tree! Christopher Morel, Hunter Bigge, and Ty Johnson for Isaac Parades.
As a twins fan i was a little bit hopeful about Delmon for about 6 months, but i knew it was a mistake trading Garza. Twins ownership was trying to appease fans who were crying about our long history of bad offense by trading all our good pitchers. That twins lineup could do some damage though when they were all playing well. Delmon, cuddyer, kubel, morneau, etc. Denard span was probably the only full time player that couldn't hit 20+hrs. Sort of an early low budget version of the bomba squad of 2019.
This might be the Twins video you are doing next, but you should to the AJ Pierzynski Trade to SF… Starts with Joe Nathan and is still going to this day with Duran
Delmon Young, after his MLB career ended spent 2 seasons in the Australian Baseball league where I reside, bringing 2 championships to my state. I will always appreciate his services
As soon as I saw that one of the guys they got back from the Matt Garza was Chris Archer, I knew exactly how the trade would continue into today. Be interesting to see it continue 4-5 years from now after Pepiot turns into a stud and the Rays ended up selling high on him as well
As a Red Sox fan it's always annoyed me recently when fans say they don't want to spend any money cuz they want to be like the Tampa Bay Rays. This video explains why the rays are successful it's not that they don't want to spend any money is that they have excellent scouting and decision makers. The downside to their ideology is they don't win championships.
I like this series but I think you should do something about other players not part of the original trade included in a trade by a team (ex: Fernando Perez and Zac Rosscup) Teams are obviously able to get a better deal including more players and it affects the total WAR calculation.
I can see that. You know the Rays are going to usually field a competitive team, but you can’t get attached to the players too much - never know when they’ll get traded.
Kudos to Andrew Friedman, the brilliant Rays GM who engineered the team that went to the World Series. Now with the Dodgers, he has brought them to the post season 9 years in a row, including 3 World Series appearances.

The trade tree keeps on growing 😂.
Tigers playoffs legend Delmon Young and hit by pitch legend Brandon Guyer
Trading Paredes for Meadows still disappoints me
Great videos, always look forward to the trade tree videos!!
Great video, the Rays are just so good at scouting and searching for talent
This will sound weird but for whatever reason I actually recall the rays winning this more lmao

Do the oldest trade that’s still going rn, it be cool to see how deep it goes.
I believe that would be the Padres. They have one that’s still going from the 90s that’s led to Adrian Gonzalez and Josh Naylor among others.

Yeah, he’s a genius. And the current Dodgers GM under him, Brandon Gomes, is one of the pitchers he acquired in this tree!
