Sorry, Titan had a strange setting on it, it seems to have had a 10 to 20X higher chance to spawn than most designs. Fixed and also reduced the lighting while i was at it
You're one of the Devs, right? Would it be possible to add an option to enable the 3rd person camera (maybe in like a menue) in Adventure mode rather than having to glitch the camera to 3rd person?

I hated it and tried to convince him to remove it but I lost that battle a long time ago. I suggest putting your suggestion it in the Feature request trackers (you can find links in the discord) and get enough people to upvote it. Then maybe Nick will remove it.

Couple of points about advanced cannons: 1) If you recoil absorption/s is higher than the required, you won't get any recoil accuracy penalty 2) On a high-rof gun like that it's worth sacrificing some fire rate to add more recoil absorbers, because so many shots are missing due to accuracy that you're effectively wasting most of that fire rate 3) A stabiliser fin as the head of a shell has something like 5x accuracy booster (but it's a really terrible idea anyway so I don't recommend it) 4) If you have big enough shells, APHE is absolutely great in devtest currently. Get ~60ap on the shell with arund 10k kinetic damage (plus pendepth fuse and as much explosive as you can fit) and it'll work against nearly anything. 5) It might be worth mixing in some tracer shells, each time a tracer is fire it adds a massive accuracy boost to that cannon that decays over several seconds, so the occasional tracer (every couple of seconds or so) has really good effect on accuracy.
APHE is absurdly good with rail guns too, the ammount of extra penetration it gets is massive, I have ti y ships with one powerful rail gun that pen a lot of ships from side to side, and explode inside the turrets, and oh boy it is glorious to see a 8k raft just fire a single shot and rip of a turret of a Tyr
I've been worried the 'like' thing would get stale really quickly, but it's done so tastefully that i honestly believe Lathrax has hit a goldmine. I am curious how he carries this over to other games. Good job Lathrax, stay classy.
I must admit that I wasn't very hyped by From The Depths at first. But this series completely flipped my opinion around. I think I really like it because I'm so fucking bad at making good designs on "complicated" building games like these, and watching someone make awesome things in this is so good. Thanks Lathrix!
Unter hey, FtD is an awesome game and honestly the community is really good at helping new players. If you just put a couple hours into reading, mucking around in design and just doing some testing and creating a build style that works for you, you can start building some really cool stuff. At one point I thought the same as you and now I have over 1000 hours in game! Keep playing and have fun :)
Will090 I thought that too and I’ve tried starting up FtD in the past but it’s just soooo intimidating. So I’m resolved to watching this channel. Besides I have another physics game kicking my butt at the moment *glares at KSP*

Lathrix, have you ever considered a PID system to swap ammo on the Railguns to have two different types of shells you can press a button to swap between. This can allow you to say have your kinetic shells but if you see a chance to capture you can swap to EMP shells, granted this doesn't expunge existing in the Ammo intakes but you could also set up PID to do that then you need to wait for Reload but #worthit.
Glad you showed off the Morningstar's prison before sending it off. It's had that in it long before we had mannequins, so it was only natural to add them in.

When it comes to being unsatisfied with the performance of things I build, I totally feel you bro. The performance quality of your railguns is actually very high. The rate of fire, damage/shell, and range is fantastic. The only issue is that the enemies engage at extreme ranges. I don't think the lack of performance at these ranges is a design flaw on your part, but just a limitation of APS guns. Rather than redesign something that actually works pretty well, what about redesigning the ship with shields, smoke, counter measures, decoys, and improved maneuverability so that you can more quickly and safely close with the enemy to mid/close range where your APS guns are most effective?

Lath, you could make a devouring pit into your ship. Capture the enemy and pull it in with the tractor beam (in the devouring pit) and devour(scrap) it :) You know, just to show that you are part of the GOOD guys? No?
There should definetly be an option for how close enemies spawn for this mode, because it just makes so many different crafts that should be a threat just,simply not a threat.
Recoil happens when you fire the weapon. Since you are using those as automatic weapons, they get worse over time. Just take a second every once in a while where you stop firing the rail guns and let them get back on target before going back to hammering the enemy.

That's easy, just build a chinamax sized cargo ship. The frame of the ship alone puts it in degraded mode.
