I am so done with the overstimulation of regular smart phone screens. I would love nothing more than to have an easy on the eyes e-ink phone that runs android. It would be perfect. Please consider turning the Palma into a phone. I would buy it in a heartbeat.
just use the minimal phone UI skin for android (assuming you're using android)
or for another option go into accesibility on android/iphone and turn on monochrome

Integrate a phone module and you can shut up and take my money! I use my phone to read books, listen to music and occasionally texting and calls. That would the perfect device for me. I know it’s a niche-product, but the addition of GSM module would cost you just a few bucks and would attract not only me as a potential costumer.

Feel like you need to either add a SIM slot to it and allow it to be a full on phone or cut the phone-like features to shave costs. I'd love to buy one, but $279 is a lot to ask for a device that has features I will never use it for (camera, mic, most likely the speakers). Maybe you or another company will just do a phone sized e-reader eventually. I'll be keeping an eye out!
Just so everyone knows, there is the Hisense a9. It's a smart phone with an e-ink screen very similar to the Palma, Hisense also has another option with a coloured e-ink display.

Hello Boox, whether boox devices (specially Tab Ultra C Pro) is repairable in India or not ? What about service centers ? If not, then make design of these devices such that one can repair himself (after purchasing specific spare parts).
I received mine yesterday. I have a few questions. Is there a way to alphabetize the apps I download? There doesn't seem to be a way (3 dots) to do that. Also, so many reviews show the lock screen with a time/calendar. Doesn't that wear down the battery? I've turned it off until I need it. While I have not loaded it up with the apps I have on my phone, I have basics such as Yahoo, Google calendar, and sudoku (which doesn't need color).
Hello, you may organize the apps by tapping the "icon align" button, however, there is currently no method to alphabetize them. The calendar screensaver's refresh interval can be adjusted in the settings to control the power consumption speed.

It looks like an excellent device. I would wish there was an even smaller device that is less than 6". Like 5.7" or even around 5".

I gotta come back to this, I am so, so disappointed in that device of yours.
Issue 1, it doesn't need a camera. With an eink screen there wont be anyway of knowing if the capture will be good or not. From experience, it doesn't translate well.
Issue 2. Android 11. Keep it up to date, when a system isn't supported it becomes at risk to break downs, break ins and viruses.
Issue 3. Why go with a phone shape and not take advantage of phone functions. This is a no brainer plan, just look at nothing, they claim to be low tech but have rolled out chat gpt.
Having a phone that focuses on reading with an eink display would show them up, it would be the low tech smart phone they promised.

I suggest you make 2 variants: (a) just the book reader (audio and visual) and (b) a full fledged mobile with an e-ink screen.
I would rather not carry 2 devices with me (when I can tolerate reading on the mobile)

It is a fantastic device. For me, the compelling factor to buy is the audio jack (3.5 mm) for wired headphones. Wireless headphones are not convenient in bed.
