Art on the highest level. She is the greatest contemporary artist in our time....She composed all of these songs, she sang as nobody else, there is deep honesty and high level of concentration behind all of this... So unique in the present, I dont know anybody on this high level now.... Nobody...
Wow, selling albums in coffee shops, they had no idea what was to be 10 years later for her career. I wosh she would do more of this older style though. Pop sells, but her old style touched your soul.
I can't believe that I still have to explain to people who Sia is. On top of that, I am required to let them know that her "POP" songs aren't really the greatest songs she's ever created. Sia has brought tears to my eyes with her many live performances that I am sure no one is aware of existing... Sia is a beautiful quirky gift to humankind handed down to us from some kind of higher power...
personaly i can't be bothered explaining who she is, she not to be explained anyway, people might understand on their on time, thanks to the numerous video i share of her, or with their own curiousity ! what she and her music brings to me is unmatched, and i'm grateful for that, i hope she lives and sings for a long long time again...
i listen to this specific recording every month, at least. i listen to her music daily. she is such a. beautiful person and a beautiful songwriter/artist/singer. she is everything.
Hats off to KCRW for bringing us such intimate performances, also not easy to produce live-to-air, what a gift it would be to listen live on terrestrial radio!
This is my favourite Live/studio performance from her. I think these are all the best version of the songs that are covered. I only wish that soon we'll be found and death by chocolate was also on the list. If i had to pick one video to show off her talent, it would be this.
I love this session also, but i disagree with some as her best versions. I love distractions of the lady croissant album slightlymore than this one. And the acoustic version of day too soon. Breathe me on this one is my favorite
8:03 "This next tune is called 'Breathe Me'" She says it so nonchalantly... If only she knew that the song has such a huge impact on one's life. I absolutely love every, single, simplicity about the song
Funny that she didn't knew what she had at the moment, actually the thing was that no one new. This song is one of the most powerful songs you can ever listen to.
She wrote breathe me the night she tried to commit suicide. She struggled with a lot of issues about herself. She still fights them today. But today she's battling those demons a bit healthier. That's why on stage she like to hide behind her hair. She can't see the audience that way. You can also hear her tell a band mate, don't be sad, just before they start playing this song. She is so creative yet so fragile. I hope her new love and marriage completes her life. Love you Sia Furler ❤️
The first time I heard Sia sing was her music coming through a coffee shop sound system and it was one of those times when I was completely floored by a voice. No matter how many times I hear her sing, especially these older songs, the emotion just comes welling up in me.
The very best of SIA - I remember discovering her music back in 2009 with this live and thinking oh my god she is phenomenal why isn't she famous in the USA?
Been watching this video for 5 years, probably come back to it more often than anything else. It has a way of taking the melancholy and making it all feel ok.
This is my favorite sia performance and I saw her live prior to the wig. She is amazing and it is unfortunate she has had to hide her true personality since then.
If I can speak for myself and everyone on here,,,No matter how many times I hear this,, I still get chills on how soulful her voice and mannerisms are. Sia please revisit your old stuff again and continue giving the chills of amazement for us.
I'm so VERY THANKFUL that I could still look this up. I discoveredtgis gem a year before her US debut on Letterman. It was originally all broken up, not complaining
Pure perfection. It's hard to believe all these cuts were performed live at one time. This is truly a recording fit for coronation. It's as beautiful now as it was that faithful morn in Santa Monica in 2007. I continue to play this tape of the most supreme music to uplift and fulfill my days. God bless you Sia and all your fellow musicians. This should be the standard for all others.
I fell in love to this set, my first time hearing Sia. Ten years later that sensation of tripping over the edge, heading towards something incredible is with me every time I hear her voice. Thank you Sia for being so wonderful. Thank you for being the soundtrack to a decade of loving. Ideal in every way. Thank you for uploading it too :)
I found this radio performance the day after I saw herI fell in love with her live performance on David Letterman... It was broken up piece by piece by song, and I loved every minute I spent hypnotized by it. Since she became famous (in the US), I couldn't find it. I'm glad I searched again after almost a decade 💓
I found her because of Chandelier. Fan of her new stuff. It's different than everything else. Took me about a day to find her older stuff. She then became my 'celebrity crush' Lolz (But really) Seems like such a fuckin cool person, quirky, bubbly, funny, kind. She seems to be the type of person any of us would want to know. Obviously, intelligent and creative. (She just so happens to be gorgeous too, and that doesn't hurt. Lolz) When she sings, though, it's surreal. I get mesmerized, just IN the music. There are so many levels of emotion, vulnerability, experience, depression, triumph, and strength. God damn. Is it possible to hear her sing Breathe Me and not feel moved? Transcendent? For me, yes. Her voice can take me out of my head, reign in the crazy, lead as a light through darkness, give hope to the forgotten, and give me something to lean on when my legs aren't very sturdy. I like a variety of music. (admittedly Pop not holding a prominent spot among my favorites. Not much appeals to me in the genre. (No content) Then, Sia writes songs, sings with an unearthly ability...... And I become a fan, instantly. Stepped away from Rap for about 20 years, been digging back in, hearing content, a message, positivity, TRUTH. Again, I connect. My main genre is metal. (NuMetal kid. It's what I grew up with) Tool will forever be in my top 5. Heart is amazing. (Ann and Nancy are also top 5, if that wasn't obvious) Chris Stapleton. Alice in Chains. (Slipknot, Mudvayne, SRV, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Pantera: to round out a top 10, if anyone gives a shit. Lolz) My point is, She may be a recent find for me, but the way she sings, the voice cracks and 'imperfections' are HER sound, and only give me a deeper appreciation for her talent. Something "raw and real" in her voice, and it beats the shit out of what I thought I knew about everything. I wish we were homies or something. Lolz Very few people in this life are able to captivate, draw upon that depth of emotion, pour in pieces of themselves forged by their journey, 'bare their soul', shape it all with effort and determination, polish it with incredible talent and their love for the craft, only to end up with something profound.... Sia makes it look effortless. She is a walking testament to success after survival, and how we all, though vastly different, are united through music, through love for one another. I'm a forever fan. She is such a fuckin badass. Have a great day people! If possible, try and be good to each other and good to yourselves.
Just been sitting here listening just gets better and better . the more sia content I find the more you feel every expression sent out to us and if you been through a lot of shit your going feel this. I know it sounds wired basically wow amazing 😉
Man when she started making the big hits and writing others big hits and then she went to the hair thing hiding her face, I was like Man Sia been a star forever. I was like, I know what she looks like.
Just absolutely incredible! I'd heard this take of Breathe Me in a separate video. I'm so glad I found the rest of the session. If there was only one artist that I could listen to for the rest of my life, it would be Sia. Her voice touches my soul. I don't know if that was the host or a band member she offered a cuddle to, but I wouldn't have turned that down. Think I needed a couple along the way.
This is the best of Sia! You are one the best things that ever was in creating music! Love you and your insane humility when you let your voice unleash!
Strokes of everything from Karen Carpenter and Pink Floyd to Dolly Parton and Billy Joel.. easily one of the best voices in the history of modern popular music - amazing ❤ *Edit:* OHHH NO SHOT! She was the vocalist on those Zero 7 tracks?! I KNEW I recognised that tone! This chick was the sound of my late teens and I didn't even know 😂
Vintage Sia, bring her back
it's Nevermind! so sad about that!
Art on the highest level. She is the greatest contemporary artist in our time....She composed all of these songs, she sang as nobody else, there is deep honesty and high level of concentration behind all of this... So unique in the present, I dont know anybody on this high level now.... Nobody...
Welcome🙂
Você tem razão... A unique...
On an artistic level, Sia always reminds me of a young Kate Bush.
How is this contemporary music?
@@keelandavis9681 Her contemporary artist period finished until 2010. I suggest you to check her Zero 7 carreer….
2024, I still revisit this video
Best Sia I can find!
One of the best perfomances i have ever heard. Maybe the best perfomance from Sia. She really shines in this ❤
I don’t know any other love songs in reverence of academics 💕
So many years and I still coming back to all these old videos of Sia singing
I'll always be his fan, she's one of a kind
Same here
Wow, selling albums in coffee shops, they had no idea what was to be 10 years later for her career.

Oh yeah! This is beautiful.

Undeniably one of the most underrated singers of this era.. one of the most naturally talented singers I have ever heard .. absolutely breathtaking
Agreed, she’s an amazing talent

i listen to this specific recording every month, at least. i listen to her music daily. she is such a. beautiful person and a beautiful songwriter/artist/singer. she is everything.
Not only does she have the most beautiful voice she is beautiful herself !
Love the fact she now owns millions as well as having 6 different houses and she just made a movie 😂 she’s the definition of hardworking success
Hats off to KCRW for bringing us such intimate performances, also not easy to produce live-to-air, what a gift it would be to listen live on terrestrial radio!
I wish she would sing some of this again, so great.
Sia is a beautiful soul with gobs of vocal control
I love her giggle as she rips out my soul. 🥺
Still listening in 2022
And in ‘24

My favorite song from her.

I'd say the radio station was lucky to have Sia, not the other way around.
When the host said she was lucky to be invited back made me realize how poor his eye for talent is. What a goofball.
@@bobbym5884 very good that's a good one
Yup.
Jesus, it was just a joke dingbat.
@@etiennedegaulle3817 Exactly lol how did that sarcasm go over their heads? And why would he ever blatantly disrespect her while she's a guest? 🤔

Sia is really amazing. No singer alive touches her.
I'm in love! Damnit man! There is only one Sia!!!

I feel the same....amazing stuff.

Just superb. Look up Zero Seven too. Sia is sublime along with a couple of other female leads.
The best rendition of ‘Distractions’ of all time! And I saw her perform it live at the Lady Croissant recording!
Wow I would have loved to see that... that is my favorite album ❤️❤️
The last song is pure musical artistry. By the whole band.
Such an amazing beautiful talent
Still my favourite performance!
Such a beautiful soul, her lyrics resonate so much. I hope you bless us with more music dear Sia.
Amazing band and Sia has an incredible voice, and she knows how to use it.
