As an Alfa Romeo Sauber fan I am really happy that Valtteri joins my team. Obviously sad to see Kimi go but very excited to see what Valtteri can do next season. A happy Valtteri will be a very fast one provided Alfa Romeo Sauber build a far better car and Ferrari gives us a decent engine.
It's interesting he chose Alfa over Williams, I guess working with Vasseur was the deciding factor vs the unknown new Williams team.

Here is the thing. Valtteri is happy. You can see it in the Alfa’s posts. Valtteri suffered by being paired with one of the all time best drivers of F1, but it is what it is. I wish him all the best in Alfa. I just really really hope we don’t have the same grid as 2021 in 2022. I want a shake up. It’s time.
I think pairing with hamilton wasn't a that big problem because let's be honest bottas has outqualified him regularly ,the problem was that Mercedes treated him like shit ,atleat they both were happy in 2017 but with 2018 and 19 things became quite sour , almost toxic

Feel for Valteri but also think it’s time. I reckon he’ll be much more happy being No.1 in a new time. He to me never looked very happy at Merc. Would be good to see him smiling again and get his mojo back. Also can’t wait to see George take the fight to Ham.

Would be funny and infuriating, but seeing as Russell is already the Merc tester and in F1, de vryes will probably be given some trial time in a Williams, instead of being sent right to the top.
I think mick Schumacher might move to alpha romeo with his bad relationship with nakita the alpha is also a more competitive car than the haas
I agree but Haas did 100% focus on next years car, Alfa did not. Nobody can say anything about the performance of next years cars before we've seen them on track. We all could be in there for a surprise.

The issue with valtteri was how good Lewis is. Valtteri is a brilliant driver just not On Hamilton’s level. When you team mate is that good you need to match it every week end.

If gio continues to perform like he did in zandvoort, then they basically have to keep him.
We waited a good 6 months for news we already kinda expected, but hopefully the guys mojo comes back at alfa. I also hope to see maybe albon or hulk return, but that seems more unlikely than a f2 graduate go to williams.

Cant wait to see George have to sit back and not even take fastest lap so Lewis can have it. So much for team first, then fight it out, eh? I hope Bottas is successful and happy going forward.
VB77 had quite a solid Mercedes career imo. 9 wins and 2 runner-up finishes is pretty damn good considering his competition level!
Hopefully Alfa can become a contender Valterri deserves a good drive he's a good driver who can beat Lewis on certain days
This will be good for Bottas as he will finally be the number one driver and not have to play second fiddle. Plus he has experience working with the team manager before and won with him in F3. Think this is great as I think Bottas is a first class person ! Think Russel will not be a good team player with Lewis and it spells trouble for Mercedes. But it means that Mercedes is considering Russel their future. So should be interesting to see how the dynamic works out next season. I personally think that Lewis is just burnt out and too occupied with his other causes and does not completely have his head in the game and that is why Max is beating him so much! With all his championships, it can be easy to think winning another one is automatic. Barring more DNFs by Max, do not think Lewis will win another this year.

Good point because why would Toto not announce at the same time that Russell is the new driver? Just do not think that Russell and Hamilton will work out.
Maybe when hamilton retires from F1, mercs may resign bottas if they cannot find a proper replacement but nick de vyries is also coming to f1 in 2022 this season so oh well
