you should and no problem
2:00 I clamp my wood in an angle in the vice, so I can saw vertical parallel to the vice. It's more controllable.
Beginning with the cut closest to the edge of the wood. I use a metal saw with its fine teeth to start the cut.

The one I made prior to seeing this is a small desk for your lap or laying in bed.
I went overly complex for my prototype.
Im gonna make this one for kitchen table tho..
And all tools have multi purpose as far as im concerned.... that coping saw is no exception

A tip: To cut angles place the wood in the vice at an angle so the saw will be vertical. It makes it much easier to cut.
