They could because 1 of Tatum or Brown wouldn't have developed into what they are now. Hell, Kyrie implied in one of his livestreams that he was recruiting someone. Had he stayed, Tatum or Brown or both might not still be there.
@trollking4058 Bro he was talking about KD. If Boston kept Kyrie. They would've had a team consistenting Kyrie, Tatum, Brown, and KD. All it would take to make it work was to offload Horford and Hayward's deal
Kyrie irving: 2016 NBA Champ 3x All-NBA 2011-12 All-Rookie 2011-12 ROY 2013-14 AS MVP 8x All Star Lamarcus Aldridge: 5x All-NBA 2006-07 All-Rookie 7X All star
That's funny. It's like you are implying Boston's offense was the reason they lost against Milwaukee. It was actually their lack of defense and bench. They only had 8 points from the bench in one of their home games but I don't see you guys condemning that coach. Oh wait he got promoted to GM my bad
He had 1 bad series and he didn’t Chuck but it’s funny when Kobe goes 7-25 he’s great or iverson because rest of team and refs carry them .. Celtics underperformed more so because others than kyrie Kyrie has great season while others got worse and had to many dumb young players
As a Celtics fan watching this I can see why we didn’t have much success with Kyrie in the playoffs compared to without him JT was wide open on so many of these plays when Kyrie was getting double and triple teamed during the time just was like Kyrie is cooking because I like him but as a fan of the team it’s like bro did stifle the offense sometimes
@AceXun13 bruh its tatums team now sure but he was a rookie back then was nowhere near where he is today why we acting like the celtics kyrie arc wasnt a whole ass 5 years ago

How is that on Kyrie when he only spent 2 seasons with them? Tatum and Brown get alot of touches because they are 1) Lottery picks. 2) Young players given the keys to a team. 3) Annoited as All Stars so they really don't defer to anyone.
I can't say that as Hayward being in the lineup had defensive issues. I would even say since he got injured it pushed the starting team to put Baynes in at Center which allowed Horford to be a natural 4 which helped them out. The problem however was the lack of offensive help and relying on 2 young forwards to replace that second option in the unit that Hayward would've filled. Which in turn bloated their heads up when the team had success with them being in the starting lineup along with it being blown up even more when Kyrie goes down. As the reality to their success in the regular season was due to the offensive prowess of Kyrie and Horford carrying the team. Along with Smart, Horford, and Baynes carrying the team Defensively with Rozier being a spark plug off the bench in the reserve Point Guard role. The latter Defensively plus Rozier is why that team had success in the playoffs due to home court advantage. Which without that they were 1-7 on the road in the playoffs.
Deep bag, but this team was TOXIC. I watched almost every game. It was horrible. Everyone's body language was miserable. No leadership. Add this to the list of teams Kyrie has sabatoged.
You have time to change this Meh opinion as this same team went to the Eastern Conference finals and took the Cavs to 7 games without Kyrie and have been in the finals multiple times without him. He never got Boston to the finals when he was on the court we got beat in the second round.
That really only speaks to how weak the eastern confrence was at the time, rather than the strengths of Daniel Thiess, Jonas Jerebko, Guerschon Yabusele and Aaron Baynes, and the random other scrubs that were on the team. Even if they’d never fallen off from skill from then to now, none of them would get minutes, even on the current Celtics. Take y’all green glasses off for a second. And don’t come for me either cause I’ve been following this team since they sucked in the 90’s.
He had Hayward (who performed well in 2020), Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum, a breakout Terry Rozier, a still decent Marcus Morris, Al Horford off an all star season, still decent Aron Baynes…for 2019 that’s a great supporting cast. It was the consensus that they had one of the most talented rosters in the league. Stop it.
He left because beginning of that 2018-19 season his grandfather died and he didn’t know how to cope with it during that season. But he went to Brooklyn to be close to his family
To play with the best player in the world KD and eventually harden lol the league is extremely lucky injuries and a mandate messed that up. Harden asked out too early but oh well.
He left because of management and the coach. A coach who would put Hayward in immediately as a starter first game into the season after he just got cleared for 5v5 work just 2 weeks prior. Did it because Gordon Hayward was his boy. Then Management as they held Rozier there inorder to try and replace Kyrie and lied to Rozier about his playing time and money just so they can do a cheeky thing like hold leverage against Kyrie if he doesn't comply/stay. That didn't go well with Rozier as he was pissed by not only not getting a new contract but seeing Hayward who clearly wasn't ready getting playing time over him which made Rozier's minutes limited. You can't get a big contract if u can't play to show a team that u should get a big deal in the first place. Kyrie saw this as he knew Brad wasn't going anywhere in the next 3 years as well as Ainge. Knew how fans blamed him for the failure to get a chip that season and decided to leave while he was a free agent to his hometown team. Boston however salty about him leaving threw shots his way and replaced him with Kemba Walker which didn't do anything. As they finally made the Finals when Stevens was no longer the coach and Ainge wasn't the GM. Showing the problem in Boston was never just Kyrie Irving
He flat out lied to a TD garden full of people saying I’ll resign, nothing before or after matters. He is top 3 most hated dude in Boston and easily top 3 most hated dudes that pick up a ball. Nobody cares about this Brodie 🤡
Idk what it is but Kyrie looks good in Celtic green
true but i mean, he's a good looking man period! i'm glad we both see it
Exactly I still don’t know why He left Boston him Tatum and Brown would have a chip by now
@@ZoDramatoo much drama in the organization with him and the front office

Kyrie's ballhandling is a revelation. I Kyrie play for the first time in high school and he was amazing then.
I wish things could've worked out in Boston, just imagine if he was still there over the last 4 years.....
If he was still there over the kast 4 years youl lovely Biston couldnt re sign Tatum, Brown or Horford.
