Bonanza is to me a real bonanza in my live i still watch the re runs and it brings me good memories
I had to be older to appreciate Hoss as well. When I started watching bonanza I was around 11 or 12 yrs old. At that age girls was looking for the cute ones. I loved Adam. My sister loved Joe. My cousins loved Candy and Will. We weren't old enough to realize looks wasn't everything. I'm 60yrs old and I still love Adam but I learned that what Hoss had on the inside was precious loving and what was more important to look for in a mate. It made him the most beautiful person on the outside. Joe on the other hand liked the girls a little too much. My parents had a lot. To teach me like theirs did. Love them Cartwrights.
Like you, Carolyn, I didn’t realize how much Hoss was the heart of the family until my older self started watched Bonanza again, on TH-cam, a year ago. As a twelve year old, I adored Little Joe…but it’s Adam I’m crushing on now.
I really enjoyed your story. I'll have to tell you mine sometime. Those Cartwrights really made an impression on so many people.

I discovered Bonanza in 1973 when I was 11 years old and Bonanza was in its final year. My father loved that show and I would watch it with him. I lost my dad when I was 30 and every time I watch Bonanza, I think of him.
Watching this was like watching my own story. I too was devoted to Bonanza when I was twelve, crushed on Little Joe and like you, lost track of it after the first five or six seasons. Now, in my early 70’s, I’ve found it again on TH-cam. Thanks for a great video ❤

i can't tell you how much the making of this video did to me! i think what Bonanza did and does to us is generally greatly under-estimated!

I don't know if you are still reading these but I was a Bonanza fan from the 1st episode. Little Joe had me from the fencing scene! I watched the Cartwrights through everything. I grew up with Michael Landon and watched as he became a great writer, director, producer AND talented actor. After losing him for almost 30 yrs I re- discovered Bonanza on TH-cam. ; I am a member of many Facebook pages devoted to his legacy of family entertainment and even have my own page which one of my friends created for me.

Mir geht es ähnlich wie dir, mit dem kleinen Unterschied, dass ich Bonanza das erste Mal mit 4 oder 5 Jahren . Bei mir liegen über 40 Jahre dazwischen, in denen Bonanza "nicht aktuell" waren ! Aber ich glaube tief in meinem Inneren schon. Im letzten Jahr kaufte ich mir die ersten Staffeln (habe mitlerweile alle). Ich sah sie mir jede freie Minute an ...3-4 Folgen hintereinander ... und ich werde immer noch nicht müde sie weiterhin zu sehen.

Thank you Lorena! Yes, this story came from very deep down in my heart, i went through a lot of memories and emotions while putting it together!
Whatever comes from the depth of one's heart will touch an open, loving heart on exactly the same level.
i feel that the actors of Bonanza gave all of their heart into the production of this series, and that's why it touches on such a deep level and the effect lasts 4ever!:)

i can't tell you how much i do love our Hoss now. i was scared of big men like him when i was small , i was a shy girl and very touchy about pranks - i just didn't understand him then:(
