- The following film was shot over a 2 day period in Florida while Hardy field tested their SINTRIX™ rods with 5 time gold cup tarpon tournament winner Andy Mill. Rod designer Howard Croston dropped in from England to put the rods through their paces. Needless to say we couldn't be anymore satisfied with their performance.
pretty much the most impressive fly gear demonstration ive ever seen .
We had a great time fishing with Andy and continue to have a good time with many anglers enjoying themselves in a positive way. You should give that a try. Jim Murphy. President Hardy North America
Miss you Jim. So many amazing memories. You changed my life. You were an amazing mentor.
the way Andy Mill fights these sharks is a revelation
TheUliwon, it's obvious you don't know much about Andy. In his Chasing Silver videos he demonstrates deadlifting 12-14 lb. of weight (bucket full of sand) and he easily does it. I've done similar with fly rods and deadlifted over 20# without trouble, and easily popped 20# tippets. I've tied a scale to a tree and pulled back with a fly rod and got over 20# easy. You would lose that bet with Andy, he is one of the best at fighting big fish on light tackle and putting huge pressure on them.
@plasterdbastard The reels are prototypes of the new Fortuna X reel, which is due to be available later this year.
Love this can't wait for them to show up this year
anytime now
Capt. Patrick Smith keep me posted and likewise I will
will do, had some jumping on the flat yesterday
@hardyfishing
Well, rats! I just bought a Zane No.1 with extra spool to put on a Proaxis 8wt!
Looking forward to seeing that new reel and some SINTRIX Spey action.
Andy is great.
Alsome video! What weight flyrod was that you were using?
Which reel size are them using here? x3 or x4 reel ?
@hardyfishing Which reel size are them using here? x3 or x4 reel ?
Awesome fly rods!!!!!!!!
both use the same number of reel ?
Awesome. Look at that big wheel of a reel spinning.
That must be an adrenalin kick.
What a crappy life you live man! NOT
No slick editing here - it's all to do with the SINTRIX resin which improves the strength of the carbon fibre.
кто знает когда Hardy выпустили удочку 12'6 f,7# zenith/sentrix ? ни где не могу найти информацию или хоты бы фото.
whats the name of the boat?
@standerus
12# Sintrix, Fortuna. 150# mono.
3:00 that made me die laughing
What are the reels?
Zane?
You can't do that to ANY rod, must be slick editing!
I shot all this video. This ALL happened. I wasnt supposed to make sounds while filming but I absolutely lost my shit. th-cam.com/video/M6mPS7A-_WU/w-d-xo.html
Este video é incrível !
What was the weight of the rods?
#10?
#12
Thats right my home port Palm Beach ;]
Yeah right, that rod was straight the rods didn't have the backbone to fight those sharks the right way.. A Loomis NRX 12 weight would have been much better to fight those fish, Hell a Loomis GLX 12 would have been better ..
I shot this video. I have fishhed with the GLX series. There aint NO way ANY other fly rod could do this. Message me any time. Id LOVE to tell this story. Andy and Jim Murphy are Legends.
12wt
I wish they would add an extra inch to the Butt. great rods tho
So the cameraman never heard of a windscreen?
I shot this whole video on a Cannon Digital Rebel. Jim and Andy hit me up and I went. It was windy. I did the best I could on sound, but did my ABSOLUTE best to capture this day. Imagine Fi8shing with Howard and Andy bro...
Trust me , I have a great time .. Nice, so if I have a different opinion it automatically makes me sour and not able to have a good time ..
Truth hurts I guess .. Lou Sabo . Some guy that uses G. Loomis fly rods instead of Hardy ...
This I dont even have to try with cheap chinese rods, haha.
25-30lbs of drag on the rod? Andy is the world strongest man? I appreciate the rod strength, but no way Andy...tie a line to a scale bolted to the floor with that rod and a short leader, bet you don't pull 15lbs.
as for the fish fighting ability...nice....but put the rod behind your head, or mis-use it, i've seen you pull on Loomis like that...
blatant advirt...not so impressed yet.
As long as one uses the butt of the rod under the cork, it is absolutely possible to pull full leader weight
