    The best tutorial ever. After many years off the organ working as a health care professional to back on the organ . Times changed musically especially in gospel music but thank God I remembered my music theory foundation. Diatonic scales and cycle of fifths. You put all it together regarding where the diatonic applies in a given song. I will learn in all 12 keys the application of the cycle of fifths. Keep it up helping others. God Bless you.

      I really urge you to stop doing this, my main reasoning being that keys like d and a may actually be easier on your hands and the black keys can provide a mental anchor that can be useful when learning new concepts.

    Appreciate your talent and sharing your gift of teaching with patience and understanding us. The staff screen sometimes over writes notes because it is very responsive to keys moving too quickly to your fast touch. I can see your chords when you play with less hurry.

    You should contrast this diatonic circle of fifths with the circle of (perfect) fifths that cycles through all of the 12 keys. It would go to Bb instead B following your progression that starts from C.

    • @thegiftedhandsmusic
      @thegiftedhandsmusic  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Great point! That’s why I like to call this the “CYCLE” of 5ths instead of the circle of 5ths to help distinguish the difference
