Ivohitra - Cool hikes in Antsirabe, Madagascar

We leave the motorbike in the garage and go for a short walk in the middle of Antsirabe, this town in the Highlands of Madagascar, capital of the Vakinankaratra region. Very close, to the west, stand two volcanic hillocks offering a beautiful panorama of the valley.

J’étais à Antsirabe la semaine dernière pour faire le trail de Mandray et quelle beauté. On peut passer de la ville à la montagne en moins de 30min. Et c’est une belle ville pour faire la course ou le velo

Oui, il y a trois trails désormais : Ibity, Mandray et Ivohitra.

En effet, comme à Mandray où je passais mes vacances étant enfant, les coupes de bois sauvages sont récurrents ainsi que les incendies.
Mon grand-père a oeuvré toute sa vie à la plantation de sapins dans cette zone….
